WWW Wednesday #26 | October 3, 2018

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue - Mackenzi Lee
Yes, I'm still reading this one. It's nothing to do with the book and everything to do with circumstances. I've had so little time to read since the move. (sobs) Weekends are filled with projects, weeknights are filled with unpacking a box or two, or organizing something, or running an errand. I was kind of hoping to finish this last night, since I'm at 85%, but we made an unplanned trip across town to IKEA so that plan was squashed. Better luck tonight! I'm so interested to see how this ends. Considering what they're looking for and what it could mean... well, I'm intrigued!

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?

Not a thing. I'm still on an adventure with Monty and Percy and Felicity.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?
Still planning on picking up One Day in December. Especially since my friend Sam (We Live and Breathe Books) just gave it 5 stars!

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. I'm sorry your reading time has been lacking, but journeying with Monty, Percy, and Felicity for a little longer is never a bad thing. :)

  2. I haven't dived into mackenzie lee's stuff yet, I honestly don't think it's for me and that's okay! I'm reading an arc of the final book in a fantasy series, bane of the dragon king by jkeller ford.

    1. The Gentleman’s Guide wasn’t necessarily my usual kind of read but something about it caught my interest. I’m so glad I gave it a try because it was a great read. Hope that final book ends the series well!!

    1. Totally, Karen! I swear, I lose track of time in IKEA. Which I’m sure is by design. :)

  5. Oh gosh! I hate it when life impedes my ability to read so I understand how you're feeling. ;) Hopefully you'll get some reading time tonight though. I look forward to your thoughts on The Gentlemen's Guide to Vice and Virtue AND I want you to start One Day in December because I'm really curious about it. ;) Happy Wednesday, Tanya!

    1. Ugh, the last 3-4 weeks with so little reading time has been hard! It’s getting better, though, thankfully. I’m super excited to start One Day in December tonight!

  6. Vice and Virtue is such a fun adventure! I'm currently finishing up The Fifth Season and I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter. Loving both of them.

    1. I totally enjoyed The Gentleman’s Guide, Paige! What a great read. It was impossible not to love Monty (as I’m sure he would agree LOL). So glad you’re enjoying both of your current reads!

  8. One Day in December was wonderful. I cried so many times when I read this book (really, look at my updates from Saturday). I got so invested in the lives of all these characters over the 10 year span, but it was worth every tear.

    1. I was perusing the editor’s note last night and when I was she described it as Love, Actually + When Harry Met Sally in book form... my excitement level went up 1,000 notches. :)

    1. I'm not usually a fan of cutesy covers but something about that one just did it for me. And so far I'm really enjoying it.

  11. I just bought Gentleman's Guide yesterday so I'm glad it's not the book that's keeping you from reading it. Hope life calms down soon!

  12. Oh no! Did you get to finish The Gentlemen's Guide? I hate it when life gets in the way RIGHT when you're about to finish a book, but oh well, things happen!

  14. For the Gentlement's Guide, is the romance good? What is it like? I'm thinking about reading it, but I want to know what it's about better.

    1. The romance in The Gentleman's Guide is *definitely* slow burn. I mean, there's plenty of talk about Monty's former escapades. And internally he does a lot of pining over Percy. But you have to wait a long time for the actual romance to happen. :)

  15. I've been meaning to read The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue, but haven't had a chance. Plus, all of the reviews I've read seemed pretty meh about it, so I'll be looking forward to what you have to say!

I was thinking about reading One Day in December a little closer to December! Cold books deserve cold(ish) months, with roaring fires, fuzzy socks, and hot chocolate.

    1. I'm kicking myself for putting it off so long, Lindsi! It was such a fun read. We must have been reading different reviews because it felt like everyone I knew *loved* it. And kept pushing me to start it. LOL So glad I finally did. Now I just need to get a review written...

One Day in December would be a perfect cold weather read! But if I waited for cold weather here... yeah, best give that dream up. Hence why I'm reading it now. LOL

  16. Moving is my idea of a horror film activity so I completely understand how it has wrecked havoc with your reading. At least you picked a fun one while you're unpacking.
