This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
L♥VE Edition
This week's TTT theme is a love freebie so I'm going with my favorite books with love in the title. I am sooo imaginative. Don't be jealous. :)
Love Scene, Take Two | Alex Evansley
Teddy Sharpe is kind of famous. He might actually be on his way to being really famous, especially if he'd nailed an audition for the lead role in the movie adaption of the newest bestselling young adult book series. There's just one problem: He totally blew the audition. And he's stuck in a tiny North Carolina airport. And his maybe-ex-girlfriend kind of just broke up with him.
The weekend isn't exactly looking good until Bennett Caldwell, author of the very book series he just auditioned for, takes pity on him and invites him to her family's lake house. Away from the glitz and glam of Hollywood for a few days, Teddy starts to relax . . . and somehow he and Bennett just click. But dating is hard enough when you aren't the subject of several dozen fanblogs, and the Internet is full of juicy gossip about Teddy and Bennett . . . gossip that Bennett might not be prepared to handle..
Ugly Love | Colleen Hoover
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn't even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn't want love, she doesn't have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past.
Don't expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can't handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.
Say You Still Love Me | K.A. Tucker
Life is a mixed bag for Piper Calloway.
On the one hand, she’s a twenty-nine-year-old VP at her dad’s multibillion-dollar real estate development firm, and living the high single life with her two best friends in a swanky downtown penthouse. On the other hand, she’s considered a pair of sexy legs in a male-dominated world and constantly has to prove her worth. Plus she’s stuck seeing her narcissistic ex-fiancé—a fellow VP—on the other side of her glass office wall every day.
Things get exponentially more complicated for Piper when she runs into Kyle Miller—the handsome new security guard at Calloway Group, and coincidentally the first love of her life.
The guy she hasn’t seen or heard from since they were summer camp counselors together. The guy from the wrong side of the tracks. The guy who apparently doesn’t even remember her name.
Piper may be a high-powered businesswoman now, but she soon realizes that her schoolgirl crush is still alive and strong, and crippling her concentration. What’s more, despite Kyle’s distant attitude, she’s convinced their reunion isn’t at all coincidental, and that his feelings for her still run deep. And she’s determined to make him admit to them, no matter the consequences.
Macy Sorensen is settling into an ambitious if emotionally tepid routine: work hard as a new pediatrics resident, plan her wedding to an older, financially secure man, keep her head down and heart tucked away.
But when she runs into Elliot Petropoulos—the first and only love of her life—the careful bubble she’s constructed begins to dissolve. Once upon a time, Elliot was Macy’s entire world—growing from her gangly teen friend into the man who coaxed her heart open again after the loss of her mother…only to break it on the very night he declared his love for her.
Told in alternating timelines between Then and Now, teenage Elliot and Macy grow from friends to much more—spending weekends and lazy summers together in a house outside of San Francisco reading books, sharing favorite words, and talking through their growing pains and triumphs. As adults, they have become strangers to one another until their chance reunion. Although their memories are obscured by the agony of what happened that night so many years ago, Elliot will come to understand the truth behind Macy’s decade-long silence, and will have to overcome the past and himself to revive her faith in the possibility of an all-consuming love.

Maddie's not impulsive. She's all about hard work and planning ahead. But one night, on a whim, she buys a lottery ticket. And then, to her astonishment —
She wins!
In a flash, Maddie's life is unrecognizable. No more stressing about college scholarships. Suddenly, she's talking about renting a yacht. And being in the spotlight at school is fun... until rumors start flying, and random people ask her for loans. Now, Maddie isn't sure who she can trust.
Except for Seth Nguyen, her funny, charming coworker at the local zoo. Seth doesn't seem aware of Maddie's big news. And, for some reason, she doesn't want to tell him. But what will happen if he learns her secret?
With tons of humor and heart, Kasie West delivers a million-dollar tale of winning, losing, and falling in love.

Over the course of three decades, through high school and college, marriages and divorces, from the pinnacles of victory and the heartbreak of defeat, Andy and Rachel will find each other again and again, until they are finally given a chance to decide whether love can surmount difference and distance and if they've been running toward each other all along.

Most people dream about getting out of Sharon, Nebraska, but after three years away, Lauren Barrett is coming home. She has her reasons—missing her family, losing her college scholarship. But then there's the reason Lauren can't admit to anyone: Rob Conrad, her best friend's older brother.
Football prowess and jaw-dropping good looks made Rob a star in high school. Out in the real world, his job and his relationships are going nowhere. He's the guy who women love and leave, not the one who makes them think of forever—until Lauren comes back to town, bringing old feelings and new dreams with her.
Because the only thing more important than figuring out where you truly belong is finding the person you were meant to be with.

Have you read any of these books?
Great list! One True Loves is one I really want to try.
ReplyDeleteOne True Loves was the first one I read by Taylor Jenkins Reid and made me fall in love with her story telling.
DeleteLook at that! I read 7 of these. My most favorite one is at the time, in position one, where it belongs. That book had me feeling so, so much. Love, Rosie drove me batty and I loved ever second of it (though, I struggle with the two unplanned you-know-whats. I mean, the guy was a Dr. COME ON!)
ReplyDeleteWow, seven out of ten! We're book twinning today! :) Love, Rosie was totally frustrating at times.
DeleteGreat list, Tanya! I haven't read all of these yet but I'm definitely planning to read most of them. Especially K.A. Tucker! I loved Love and Others Words and Love, Rosie made me cry so much (the movie especially and that's when I fell in love with Sam Claflin)! Haha
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I never saw the Love, Rosie movie?! You'd think Sam Claflin would be enough of a draw (LOL) but I just never have got around to it.
DeleteLova and Other Words is probably my favorite book from CLo. I wish they would go back and write something similar. I love K.A Tucker but haven't read her latest yet but it sounds so good. And of course, the Taylor Jenkins Reid! That one made me cry so hard!
ReplyDeleteSame here, Nick. That one and Autoboyography are my two favorites from CLo. I enjoy their rom-coms but their romances are really the winners for me. And One True Loves definitely broke my heart!
DeleteI'm really enjoying seeing what everyone came up with this week. Wonderful list!
ReplyDeleteThanks Barb :)
DeleteI haven't read a single one! :( I've heard a lot of great things about K.A Tucker though, and Ugly Love.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
K.A. Tucker is a longtime favorite. She's practically an auto-buy author for me. I love her story telling.
DeleteI like your topic. I haven’t read any of these, but I’ll probably read One True Loves eventually. I like the author.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
One True Loves was the book that introduced me to Taylor Jenkins Reid. Loved that one.
DeleteUgly Love sounds really good.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Thanks Lydia.
DeleteSo, so many great books on this list! I especially loved seeing Love & Other Words and Ugly Love on here.
ReplyDeleteLove & Other Words is one of my favorites from Christina Lauren. I was so invested in Macy and Elliot.
DeleteA lot of people did this topic :) I don't blame you, freebies are TOUGH. They always throw me.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Thanks Susan :)
DeleteI read Love Scene, Take Two and beta read As Long As You Love Me. Rob was such a sweet hero.
ReplyDeleteLove your twist on the theme.
Karen @ For What It's worth
I don't know what it was exactly about that series by Ann Aguirre but I seriously loved it. How cool that you got to beta read As Long As You Love Me! Rob really was a sweetheart. My favorite was I Want It That Way. I adored Nadia and Ty (and Ty's little boy).
DeleteWhile I've read several of these authors, the only book of these that I've read so far is Ugly Love. Which one should I most definitely add to the TBR?
ReplyDeleteOoh, fun question! If you're in the mood for more women's fiction/romance, I'd recommend Who Do You Love. Love and Other Words for contemporary romance. And if you feel like new adult romance, As Long As You Love Me was wonderful. (Although the first book in that trilogy was my favorite - I Want It That Way).
DeleteUnfortunately, I have not read any of them. Ugly Love is on my TBR, hope to get to it soon.
ReplyDeleteUgly Love is one of the first I read from Colleen Hoover and is still one of my favorites. Hope you will enjoy it!
DeleteVery cute idea and perfect for the holiday! The only one I've read is One True Loves, but I want to read more from Christina Lauren.
ReplyDeleteI have The Honey-Don't List from Christina Lauren coming up soon and I'm excited for it. :)
DeleteI haven't read any of these books, but I have read ones by Christina Lauren and K.A. Tucker, and I enjoyed their writing.
ReplyDeleteK.A. Tucker is a longtime favorite. I just read Christina Lauren for the first time in 2018 so I consider them a newer find. But I've loved most of what I've read from them.
DeleteI haven't read any of these. But I do have a Kasie West book on my shelf.
ReplyDeleteKasie West can be hit or miss for me but there are a couple that I've really enjoyed. My favorite is P.S. I Like You.
Deletehey Tanya i'm sarah..! lovely topic, i haven’t read any of these, but you’ve definitely given me some books to look into :) well i write short poems Corona Virus but somehow,I get some time for reading book.. thank you for lovely sharing.. :)
ReplyDeleteOne True Loves is such a great read. That Christina Lauren book is sitting on my shelf right now waiting for me to read it. Hopefully soon. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved One True Loves. It was my introduction to Taylor Jenkins Reid. Fingers crossed that you'll enjoy Love and Other Words. It's tied with Autoboyography for my favorite by Christina Lauren.
DeleteI am trying to be cool and not flail around in excitement over you having included Love, Rosie. As a whole, all of these picks are perfect and warm and fuzzy inducing, but I have SUCH a soft spot for Love Rosie. Swoon. It was my first big-love when it comes to romance standalones. Ah.
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, almost all the details of Love, Rosie are lost to me since it's been about 10 years since I read it. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to a reread. :)
DeleteYour intro to this topic made me laugh. Love it! :-)
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I definitely took the easy way out this week. LOL
DeleteI love that post Tanya! And who knew that so many books had the word love in their title?
ReplyDeleteYes, I definitely made it easy on myself with this topic. :)
DeleteLove Scene, Take Two is one I'd like to read at some point.
ReplyDeleteThe Aguirre title is one I read years ago... I remember reading the trilogy because they were named after backstreet boys songs. :) Don't remember a whole lot about the books though. :(
Something about Love Scene, Take Two just clicked with me. I loved those characters.
DeleteBake when I read that Aguirre trilogy I didn't even make the connection with the Backstreet Boys songs until I saw another reviewer point it out. Ha!
