WWW Wednesday #88 | May 20, 2020

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

Welcome to Week 10 of this madness. My stepdaughter posted a pic of a t-shirt on Facebook that read "So Over This Shit" and I had to laugh. That about sums it up, right? ;)

I have felt wholly uninspired this week when it comes to blogging. I've been visiting and commenting but when it comes to posting... yeah, just not feeling it. I have about a bajillion reviews I could write and post but... you guessed it, not feeling that, either. In the meantime, I'll just keep on reading. :)

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Currently reading: That Second Chance is my first from Meghan Quinn and so far I'm really enjoying it. The humor can be a little silly for my taste at times, but overall it's a good story. The main characters are just so likable, especially Griffin, who is a total sweetheart. Assuming this one continues as it is, I'll be happy to continue the series and read about the rest of the Knightly brothers.
Current progress: page 62/321

Currently listening: I'm almost done with Tamed - only 45 minutes or so to go - so I'll finish it this morning while I'm working. It's classic Emma Chase and I love that it's completely from Matthew's POV. I am enjoying it but I've gotta say, I'm pretty over Dee right now. She needs to step it up and make an effort or she doesn't deserve the good guy that Matthew is. There... I have spoken. :)
Current progress: 85%

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Oh. My. Goodness. Rage and Ruin about did me in. Yes it was long (600 pages) but it was actually a fast read and there was plenty of action and twists to keep the story moving. The final climactic scene had me crying and sniffling and thinking Jen was a sadistic troll. And the last few pages had me totally shook - staring off into space, unbelieving, and thinking Jen was a twisted genius. So I guess it's pretty pitiful that this one doesn't even release until next month and I'm already desperate for the next book. Yeah, this is not a good feeling.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

Obviously I didn't pick up any of these as my next read last week. I mean, did anyone really think I would? LOL So just for funsies, let's stick with the same three possibilities. That way we can laugh about it again next week.

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. Looks like a good reading week you are having so far. Glad you had a blast with that Armentrout book. But those 600 pages are beasts right? I definitely agree with you on Tamed....I need my heroines to fight for the relationship just as much as the hero and they don't deserve the man.

I am reading like a mad bunny. Currently reading Dream Maker by Kristen Ashley, Anything But A Duke by Christy Carlyle and just finished Big Easy Temptation by Shayla Black/Lexi Blake.

Hope you have a blast with your reading with the rest of the week.

    1. Rage and Ruin was a blast. Really enjoyed that whole experience.

I'm glad your reading is trucking right along! And I enjoyed your review of the Shayla Black/Lexi Blake book!

  2. I also thought Dee needed to give Matthew a break. I remember really feeling for Matthew at one point. All good choices for your next, though I only read Guy on the Right, which I loved. So fun!

    1. Exactly. In my notes I wrote that Matthew was doing all the work in the relationship. And that yes Dee had burned burned in the past but she wasn't the only one. Matthew had a past too, he just didn't use it as a crutch.

  3. I'm finally getting better with reading but blogging not so much. I had a burst of energy last week but this week I'm barely getting to comments lol

    1. It's such a balancing act, isn't it. If I'm on top of one thing that means something else is falling by the wayside.

  4. Tamed was my first Emma Chase book. It made me a fan for sure!
I am so glad you're enjoying that Meghan Quinn book. She's one of my favorites and an auto-buy for me. I am also super excited for you to read The Guy on the Right!
Hopefully, you'll feel in a posting mood soon. Maybe one big mini review post where you write a couple sentences about each book?

    1. I think mini-reviews are exactly what I'll end up doing, Deanna. :)

  5. Well I don't blame you as I feel extra lazy about posting Tanya!

    1. I'm just going with it... it's rather freeing to just go with the flow and post whenever I feel like it.

  6. I've been a bit off this week in terms of blogging too. Still getting plenty of reading done though! I have a firm date set to go back to work now, so there's a mixture of anxiety and excitement.

    1. I know what you mean about feeling both anxious and excited. I hope the transition back goes smoothly for both of us.

  8. Glad you're enjoying your current reads! My motivation for blog work goes back and forth. I'm still sick, so I don't always want to worry about it. lol I do need to get some reviews written - or at least somewhat written - before it becomes one of those "what the heck was this book about again???" lol

I am currently reading Variable Onset by Layla Reyne which I'm loving, and I just finished Live in Love by Lauren Akins which was also wonderful.

  9. Was it Meghan Quinn who was on Insta talking about reopening the country?

    1. I think that was Meghan March. Man, did she get some backlash for that. I respect her right to voice her opinion but wow... she did not come across well.

  10. That shirt is absolutely perfect lol! And I decided to wait to read Rage and Ruin this coming weekend. That way I can stay up late since it sounds like this book will be impossible to put down. I'm so nervous to see how it ends and I'm sure I'll be wishing for that third and final book that is a year away lol!

  11. I loved Emma Chase's Tangled but haven't read any of her other books. Tamed sounds like a good one. I totally understand what you are feeling. I have not felt like doing much of anything some nights but I can usually force myself to write a review. It is the blog hopping that I tend to fall behind on.

    1. I can never seem to keep it all going at once, Carole. There's posting on my blog, there's visiting other blogs, there's reading, and there's writing reviews. I can keep two of those going... sometimes three. But never all four. LOL

  12. Oooh! Can't wait to read Rage & Ruin---but maybe I SHOULD wait till the next book comes out. LOL!

    1. That's a tough one, Nicole... if you wait you wouldn't have that year-long wait between books. But you should read it now because it's sooo good! LOL

  13. I need that t-shirt I am most definitely over this shit. I am also feeling meh about posting lately but that’s probably my continual bad mood from being stuck at home so I think that will happen more but oh well. Maybe another day. I’m seeing a few people reading That Second Chance. I hope it continued being good, I might have to check it out.

    1. Funnily enough, I recently saw someone else reading That Second Chance, too. And it's not like it's a new release. But I'm enjoying it and I'm sure I'll want to read about the other brothers, too. :)

  14. I still haven't picked up Tangled although I'd hoped to over the last couple months. Maybe soon? And you're soooo killing me with Rage and Ruin!! I just can't wait to get my hands on it!!

    1. Tangled was a lot of fun. Drew can be such an ass but he's also super charming. LOL

  15. Sadistic Troll! 😂 I do love it when an author can rock and surprise us so much, even when it's pretty sadistic.

I've still to read Emma Chase. One day, one day...

    1. LOL Sad but true, Nicci. I'm convinced she's an evil genius. :)

You need some Emma Chase in your life. She'll make you laugh.

  16. I had that same feeling about blogging last week and really hope that I can shake it off for the coming week because I've definitely been in read-only mode for days now. I'm glad to hear Rage & Ruin is a good read. I was kind of putting it off because of the 600 pages but maybe I'll pick that up soon.

    1. The 600 pages flew by, Suzanne. When I saw the page count I was a little concerned but it read so fast.
