The Sunday Post #267 | November 14, 2021

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.

It has been a week. November is always my busiest month at the office and this week I felt like my every thought revolved around work. I also felt like a walking ball of stress. It all culminated on Friday when I went to bed at 7 pm and slept for almost 12 hours. So yeah, that was my week.

That almost meant I had zero time or energy for blogging. Not a single post went up this week and my blog hopping/commenting was almost non-existent. I would say better luck this week but the fact is that it probably won't get better for another couple weeks. *sigh*

I did manage to find time to get my Covid booster vaccine this week. Having that extra level of protection is a relief.

I got a couple Christmas gifts ordered so I can at least say I've started Christmas shopping. I wish I was one of those shockingly organized people who shop early and announce in July that they've finished their Christmas shopping but no, that's not me. :)

This week's 80's music fix is I Don't Like Mondays by Boomtown Rats. I think it was actually released in 1979 and not the 80's at all, but I'm going with it. The title pretty much sums up how I feel about heading back to the office tomorrow. LOL

HOW WAS YOUR WEEK?
I'D LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT!

  1. I hope things slow down at work for you. OMG that sign! I could imagine that more for back when I was a teacher and would cry in the prep room. That song is my anthem. That and Rainy Days and Mondays. Mondays are hard. I need to look into this Emma Scott series. I don't know much about it, but everyone seems to be enjoying it.

    1. That sign seemed fitting for last week since I had an absolute meltdown at home one morning as I was getting ready for work. Ugh.

The first book in the Emma Scott trilogy was suuuuper angsty. I love my angst and it was even a bit much for me. But the second book was perfection! I hope to squeeze in the final book before the end of the year.

  2. Ahhh you're poor body! When I was putting my notice in at my job and stressing out about all the stuff that needed to be done, I knocked out on the couch twice. I hope you have a less stressful week ahead of you!!

  3. LOL, my poor sister needs that sign at work! She is so stressed out, and I'm over here counting down the days until my leave. Best wishes on getting through the rest of the month at work, hopefully with a little less stress!

  5. I had a crazy work week too. Our big boss was in town, so everyone was on extra high alert. I got my booster shot on Friday and have been sick with the side effects ever since. Oh well, it still beats getting COVID!

  9. Well I'm glad you got the sleep you needed and your COVID booster. I would guess maybe the time change was having an effect too. I'm going to sleep and getting up at the same time as before, even though the clock says a different time. lol.

    1. I was so drained after the week that I guess my body needed the sleep. Even then, I ended up taking a long nap on Saturday. I was tired! Glad you were able to get the gift you wanted. I'm reading a lot about expected delays and shortages.

  15. Man, I felt like I ghostwrote this post. This is my busiest time of year too and it seems more stressful than ever for some reason. I got a few posts up but crashed and burned every night so no blog hopping until today. Here's hoping (and yet I'm laughing as I'm typing this) that we both have a less stressful week.

    1. Ugh, sounds like we had the same week, Suzanne. And will likely have the same month. I know it's coming every year but that never makes it easier. I'll be optimistic and hope that this week is easier on us both.

  16. How rude that we have to stop crying BEFORE going to work. I mean, how possible is that?! LOL I do love that sign.

Sorry things have been really busy with work. Let's hope that November speeds by for you and you'll get some well needed rest!

  20. I had a horrible workweek last week, too! I'm still recuperating. I slept nine hours last night and I'm still tired! I hope you get more rest and things are less stressful for you this week.

I scheduled my booster but backed out today. While on vacation I came down with a sinus and ear infection and was put on antibiotics. I'm still not 100% and worried about getting the booster. Did you had side effects with the booster?

    1. There must have been something in the air last week, Rachel! (Or Mercury was in retrograde... is that a thing? lol) It seems like a lot of us struggled hard last week.

Ugh, sorry to hear about the sinus/ear infection. How miserable. Hopefully it clears up soon so you can get your booster. Surprisingly, I had zero side effects from my booster! I'm theorizing that my antibodies are still high and didn't have to react as much as with the original two doses.
