It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.

It has been a week. November is always my busiest month at the office and this week I felt like my every thought revolved around work. I also felt like a walking ball of stress. It all culminated on Friday when I went to bed at 7 pm and slept for almost 12 hours. So yeah, that was my week.
That almost meant I had zero time or energy for blogging. Not a single post went up this week and my blog hopping/commenting was almost non-existent. I would say better luck this week but the fact is that it probably won't get better for another couple weeks. *sigh*
I did manage to find time to get my Covid booster vaccine this week. Having that extra level of protection is a relief.
I got a couple Christmas gifts ordered so I can at least say I've started Christmas shopping. I wish I was one of those shockingly organized people who shop early and announce in July that they've finished their Christmas shopping but no, that's not me. :)
This week's 80's music fix is I Don't Like Mondays by Boomtown Rats. I think it was actually released in 1979 and not the 80's at all, but I'm going with it. The title pretty much sums up how I feel about heading back to the office tomorrow. LOL

I hope things slow down at work for you. OMG that sign! I could imagine that more for back when I was a teacher and would cry in the prep room. That song is my anthem. That and Rainy Days and Mondays. Mondays are hard. I need to look into this Emma Scott series. I don't know much about it, but everyone seems to be enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteThat sign seemed fitting for last week since I had an absolute meltdown at home one morning as I was getting ready for work. Ugh.
DeleteThe first book in the Emma Scott trilogy was suuuuper angsty. I love my angst and it was even a bit much for me. But the second book was perfection! I hope to squeeze in the final book before the end of the year.
Ahhh you're poor body! When I was putting my notice in at my job and stressing out about all the stuff that needed to be done, I knocked out on the couch twice. I hope you have a less stressful week ahead of you!!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how job stress can have such a physical impact. Hopefully this week will be a bit better.
DeleteLOL, my poor sister needs that sign at work! She is so stressed out, and I'm over here counting down the days until my leave. Best wishes on getting through the rest of the month at work, hopefully with a little less stress!
ReplyDeleteSounds like we can all relate to job stress this week!
DeleteI feel ya! I went to bed at 3:30 on Friday (literally, the moment I got home). Hopefully this week is better! Or at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, sounds like we had similar weeks. Let's hope this week is better for both of us!
DeleteI had a crazy work week too. Our big boss was in town, so everyone was on extra high alert. I got my booster shot on Friday and have been sick with the side effects ever since. Oh well, it still beats getting COVID!
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry to hear about the side effects from the booster. Oddly enough, I had none this time around!
DeleteI'm sorry to read your work has been so busy and stressfull. I hope it gets better soon and that you can enjoy some great reads.
ReplyDeleteAnd great job on getting the booster shot.
Have a great week and happy reading.
Thanks Maureen! Crossing my fingers that this week is a bit easier.
DeleteDon't fret about not posting or blog hopping Tanya, you do what's best for you! Now that "random thoughts" made me laugh so hard! I hope the second half of November will be easier!
ReplyDeleteWhen time is tight or when I'm stressed, blogging is the first to go. It doesn't pay the bills, the job does. LOL
DeleteI'm sorry you had such a rough week. I wonder if it's in the air because last week got me sucked also. This coming week won't be any better. We just have to hang in there! I'm glad you got your booster! I'm getting mine at the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteIt's crazy how many people seemed to have had a similar week last week! Must have been something in the air. :) Hooray for getting your booster soon!
DeleteWell I'm glad you got the sleep you needed and your COVID booster. I would guess maybe the time change was having an effect too. I'm going to sleep and getting up at the same time as before, even though the clock says a different time. lol.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
It's amazing the physical toll stress can take on our bodies. My Friday I was just drained and I guess I needed the sleep.
DeleteCovid boosters for the win! I got mine 2 weeks ago. It gave me a little more relief. My young nephews also got their first shot, so that was exciting. I hope you're all caught up on rest now.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same, Deanna. Having the booster is an added level of protection and a feeling of relief.
DeleteGlad you got your COVID shot! I still need to get my Flu shot! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!

12 hours of sleep sounds absolutely amazing, yay you! And yay for some Christmas shopping already! I've already bought a few presents too and I'm extremely thankful we got one present already because they said they aren't expecting to have it re-stocked till the next year ack.

I was so drained after the week that I guess my body needed the sleep. Even then, I ended up taking a long nap on Saturday. I was tired! Glad you were able to get the gift you wanted. I'm reading a lot about expected delays and shortages.
DeleteI really hope that things at work will calm down because what a week. I hardly got anything done this past week either because of work so I totally get it. Love that random pic. haha
ReplyDeleteSeems like it was a tough work week for a lot of us! Better luck this week!
DeleteStress is tough. I hope this week goes well for you and you get a break from the stress! :) Also kudos toyou for starting Christmas shopping! I was in the store tonight and heard Christmas music. A lot of people were like WHAT but I guess I didn't mind too much. :)
ReplyDeleteBob Geldof will always be Pink from The Wall for me... :)
Fingers crossed that this week takes it a bit easier on me (and all of us).
DeleteSurprisingly I've never seen The Wall!
Man, I felt like I ghostwrote this post. This is my busiest time of year too and it seems more stressful than ever for some reason. I got a few posts up but crashed and burned every night so no blog hopping until today. Here's hoping (and yet I'm laughing as I'm typing this) that we both have a less stressful week.
ReplyDeleteUgh, sounds like we had the same week, Suzanne. And will likely have the same month. I know it's coming every year but that never makes it easier. I'll be optimistic and hope that this week is easier on us both.
DeleteHow rude that we have to stop crying BEFORE going to work. I mean, how possible is that?! LOL I do love that sign.
ReplyDeleteSorry things have been really busy with work. Let's hope that November speeds by for you and you'll get some well needed rest!
Lauren @ www.shootingstarsmag.net
Right? Sometimes a good cry before work helps you get through the day. :)
DeleteThose kind of weeks are so tough. Hang in there!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jinger!
DeleteI hope things are less stressful going forward.
ReplyDeleteI always feel like I have plenty of time to worry about Christmas shopping and then suddenly no time at all!
Wishing you a great reading week
So true, Shelley. It feels like there's plenty of time and suddenly there's not!
DeleteHope this week is going a bit better! November (and December) always seem so stressful at work, trying to meet all the goals and deadlines... Hope you're getting to relax a bit on the weekends at least!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lindsey. The end of the year is always a tough time work-wise, isn't it? At least December is typically easier for me than November.
DeleteI had a horrible workweek last week, too! I'm still recuperating. I slept nine hours last night and I'm still tired! I hope you get more rest and things are less stressful for you this week.
ReplyDeleteI scheduled my booster but backed out today. While on vacation I came down with a sinus and ear infection and was put on antibiotics. I'm still not 100% and worried about getting the booster. Did you had side effects with the booster?
Loved Getting Real, too!
There must have been something in the air last week, Rachel! (Or Mercury was in retrograde... is that a thing? lol) It seems like a lot of us struggled hard last week.
DeleteUgh, sorry to hear about the sinus/ear infection. How miserable. Hopefully it clears up soon so you can get your booster. Surprisingly, I had zero side effects from my booster! I'm theorizing that my antibodies are still high and didn't have to react as much as with the original two doses.
I hope your work slows down for you soon! Looks like you've had some good reading, though!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alison! This week is a bit better (kinda-sorta LOL) but I've had zero time for reading. Can't wait to read all the books in December! :)
DeleteI hope you get to slow down soon! Congrats on the booster! I got mine last Friday, as well. We're ready for the holidays now, right!? I'll be excited to hear what you thought of Layla. :)
ReplyDeleteHooray for the booster shots! If it becomes a yearly thing, like flu shots, I'll be right there at the front of the line for mine. :) I have had zero time for reading the past week but the little bit I've got into Layla has been so creepy!
DeleteMy husband is on vacation this week but he seems to be on the phone or texting with them anyway lol I hope you can some rest over the holidays at least.
ReplyDeleteBlogging and reading are just huge struggles for me lately. I'm just gonna roll with it lol
Karen @For What It's Worth
My reading has been almost nonexistent this past week. Ugh. I miss it... but no time!
DeleteYay for getting your booster! I might finally be able to get mine now that the FDA approved it!
ReplyDeleteYes! I was so glad to see it was approved for all adults! That's great news.
