The Sunday Post #19

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

Happy weekend! Hope everyone had a great week. The big news here this week is hot, hot, and another big helping of scorching hot. It hit 100 degrees a couple days and it's just so miserable. Oh, and don't forget that lovely Florida humidity. Can we skip to winter, pretty please? But hey, by next weekend it's only going to be 94. Break out the sweaters and jackets!

Yesterday I had lunch with some family I hadn't seen in maybe 10 years and it was a little reunion of sorts. Me, my sisters and my mom got together with my two cousins and aunt (girls lunch!) and had such a great time. I'm so thankful to my cousin for taking the initiative to organize it.

Tuesday, July 5: Where Is The Love?
Top Ten Tuesday's theme was about books we enjoyed but have fewer than 2,000 GoodReads ratings. I was totally surprised at some on my list - and it was interesting to see what made everyone else's lists, too. (I still can't get over The Summer I Found You having less than 2,000 ratings. Ack!)

Wednesday, July 6: On Wednesday I took part in the cover reveal for Long Way Home, the next book in Katie McGarry's Thunder Road series. I adore this series and am so excited for this third book. January 31st seems sooo far away, though! *taps foot impatiently*
Thursday, July 7: I love That's What He Said Thursday's. I mean, any excuse to revisit some swoony quotes from some swoony guys, amiright? This past week it was Grant from Abbi Glines' Rosemary Beach series. Gotta love a guy who is willing to put it all out there and say what he feels.

Friday, July 8: I got a little ranty in my review for This One Moment. It couldn't be helped. When a book contains not one, not two, but at least three annoying and overused tropes... one must rant.

Loved. This. Story.

More Cam. Always more Cam.

Just started this yesterday and I can't wait to really get into it.

My re-read of the Rusk University series continues - this time on audio. I'm not loving the narration of this one as much as All Lined Up (that one was perfection) but it's still so great to revisit these characters.

    1. Nope, not a fan of the heat. I become a hermit every summer and stay indoors. :)

  3. Both of us have something about the heat on our random sections LOL. The joy off living in South Georgia/North Florida! LOL

    1. LOL Too funny that we both ranted about the heat. But you're right... living where we do it's unavoidable!

    1. Oh my gosh, I am so over summer already. LOL Can it be November yet? Then it might be in the 80's. LOL (Yes, we almost always have the AC still on at Thanksgiving.) And I loved Swear on This Life so much! I want to read absolutely everything by TJR now.

  5. I keep seeing a TON of people posting about Up in Flames! I hope it's as good as the hype! I can't wait to read your review of it!
and HOLY COW that weather you are getting is crazy! I was just complaining about the heat here yesterday and it was only 86! I won't be complaining anymore lol. It's just a bummer with the heat right now because I can't get any of my training in until later in the evenings when it's cooled off or REALLY early in the am when it's still dark out!
I'm glad you got to catch up with your family! That's the best and it's a great photo of all you ladies!
    Have a good week Tanya!

    1. Hey Em-Dog! :) Sadly, I'm feeling too jazzed about Up In Flames. It's focused on a character I've loathed throughout the entire series and several of the reviews I've seen have been scathing. I'll be reading it soon but I'm not super excited for it like I have been for all the others. :( And I am so over the heat, girl! I will gladly trade for your 86 degrees. LOL Hope you have a good week, too! xx

  6. Yay for family! 100?! HELL NO! It was in the 90s here but we have no humidity so I didn't die. Luckily it was back to high 70s/low 80s over the weekend = Perfect!! I can't wait to start Swear on this Life!!

    1. No humidity? What is this no humidity you speak of? High 70's??? High 70's!!! Where are you... I'm moving there immediately. LOL
Can't wait to hear what you think of Swear on This Life! I fell in love with it!

  7. We get humidity up here too. Maybe not quite as hot as FL. But still hot hot hot. And I love it!
More Cam always. I still think Jax will totally sweep you off your feet. God he's lovely.
Silas!!!! I think listening to the audio of a romance book I love and the male narrator having a terrible voice could totally ruin my love of that book BF. Guess it's the risk you take. Haha

    1. You love it? I think the heat has gone to your brain. Lay down immediately with a cold compress, you'll feel better soon.
I'm open to Jax but seriously... does it get any better than Cam? Swoon!
The narration for Silas was... okay. The Southern accent was a little meh but overall okay. But the narration for Dylan was annoying. The narrator delivered spoke like she was delivering the news or something. It was weird. I want to mute her and just focus on my Silas. LOL

  8. That weather. I seriously cannot. We've been having some of that out here in NYC but sheesh. It's always nice to get with family, too!
