The Sunday Post #58

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • Girl Plus Books got a new look last week. Still some tweaking to do but I'm loving the cleaner, more streamlined look.
  • We got some much-needed rain... finally. Unfortunately the storms were so severe they caused a lot of damage (trees falling through roofs). Can we get a happy medium, Mother Nature?
  • More attacks in London this weekend. It's so senseless and so heartbreaking. :(
  • I've received my first Blue Apron box and will be doing some cooking at home for a change. Does anyone else use Blue Apron? How do you like it?
  • And most exciting, I attended my nephew's high school graduation on Friday. Jackson is an incredible person (I want to be him when I grow up :) and I'm so proud of him.

  1. Love the new look!! Yikes about the storms. I loved Blue Apron but my husband is super picky so he never loved the meals so we stopped. I wish I could do it again. Hope you have a great week!

    1. Thanks Grace! I'm the picky one in my family so I'm a bit apprehensive about several of the options. They all seem a bit... adventurous to me. Guess I'll see how it goes!

  6. Congrats on your nephew's graduation! I remember how exciting that time can be.

Love the new blog layout. And there's no shame in owning the same book on different platforms. :)

  7. Yes I imagine lugging ACoWaR around would be like lifting weights lol. And sorry to hear about the storms- I know some areas got slammed last week. We had thunderstorms roll through but nothing that bad. Glad you avoided the worst of the damage.

    Like the new look!

  9. Blog looks awesome! I love your graphics. Graduations make me cry. When I was a teacher, I had to go every year, and I found it really emotional. An ending and a beginning,

    1. Thanks so much, Sam!

I agree. It was hard not to get choked up. The valedictorian's speech got me teary-eyed. And of course seeing my nephew get his diploma. Such a milestone.

    1. I'm working on it... just not as much time to read as I would like. I'm at about the 40% mark, I think. And I don't want it to end. I already have so many feeeelings! I love Cassian and Az more than ever before but, it must be said, I still don't like Nesta. Never have.

  13. I love your new look!! And I was happy to know it happened recently and that I hadn't missed *that* much. Although I know I have. I hope you've been enjoying some wonderful reads. We need great books to escape into when it seems the world around us is going nutso. Congrats to your nephew! And I hope you'll post about how you like (or not) Blue Apron. I also hope your weather can find a happy medium. You know we had snow the last couple weekends of May. It seems to have changed to rain now.
Thanks so much for sticking with me, Tanya! I appreciate your friendship. :D Have a great week!

    1. Hey you! So good to hear from you, Brandee... I've missed you!
LOL No, you haven't missed *that* much. The new look is only a week or so old. I'm kinda in love with it. :)
We're supposed to be trying our first Blue Apron dinner tonight. I'll try to remember to include a little update in Sunday's post. Snow in late May... it boggles my mind! I already tired of summer! LOL

  14. Congrats to your nephew. I wish him much success!

Also, why am I the only person that hasn't read Anne Bishop?!

    1. Thank for that, Jazmen. :)

And there's the question of the day: why *are* you the only person not reading Anne Bishop? Time to join the bandwagon. I've saved you a seat.

    1. Well that's weird. I didn't see anything in the spam folder, either. so... ? But I'm glad you took the time to try again. :) Sadly, we weren't big fans of Blue Apron (I forgot to add that to this week's Sunday Post). There were a very limited number of options to choose from each week and among those we had difficulty finding things we liked/wanted. So, not for us - but it was still nice to try it out.
