The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
- So last week when I mentioned The Plague has passed? Yeah, not so much. The very next day it came back... with attitude. Monday was a holiday so I was able to moan in peace at home. On Tuesday The Husband shuttled me to my doctor's appointment where I was told, quite shockingly I might add, that it was in fact not The Plague but a sinus infection. I shuffled back home with a bag o' drugs (all quite legal) and that's where I've been ever since. I did venture out of the house yesterday for the first time since Tuesday. (Oh look, the sun. And people still going about their business. Imagine that.) I have decided I might live after all.
- You would think with all the down time I would have flown through about forty-leven books (or insert any other nonsensical number). But you would be wrong. I have slept more than I thought humanly possible and even when I was semi-vertical (i.e. when I shuffled from bed to sofa), holding a book genuinely felt overly ambitious. So I only managed to complete the book I was already reading. Womp womp.
- The other unfortunate side effect of being sick is that I have had zero energy (or inclination) to be online so I haven't visited any blogs this week. Including my own. Ha. The two posts that went up this week were pre-scheduled (go me!) but I'm afraid I haven't responded to a single comment or visited anyone's posts this week. I'll try to get around and visit everyone this coming week, assuming I'll have a little more pep in my step.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!
You poor dear. When I was teaching, I used to get those sinus infections that went too far all the time (the building was poison), so I know you feel miserable. I hope the medication is kicking in. Keep hydrating and sleep, sleep, sleep. I really liked Ghosted. I hope you like it too. I almost bought The Truth About Sunshine this week, but didn't, because I have too much reading right now, but I will still await your thoughts. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. I can't imagine working in a building like that. I feel like I have the immune system of a gnat as it is, so that must have been horrible. Thank goodness you're not there anymore! Tomorrow is my last day of meds and that makes me nervous but I'm sure the doctor knows what he's doing. LOL I'm really looking forward to Ghosted! I already owned a copy but now I have a signed one (all Bookworm Box books are signed) so that's pretty cool.
DeleteUgh to being sick. We have all been sick at one point this winter. Currently it is my son. I am so sick of it. Hope you finally feel better!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Grace. I swear, the start of 2018 has been a rough one as far as colds and flu, etc making the rounds. I hope your son feels better soon!
DeleteOh no! Sorry to hear your sick again. It just doesn’t want to leave you alone. Try and enjoy the new addition, rest too and just don’t over do it. 🙂
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenea. From cold, to sinus infection... February is not ending on a high note. :(
DeleteYikes, hope you're feeling better. And yeah sometimes when you're sick reading just does NOT happen lol. All you want to do is sleep. Anyway hope this week is better!
ReplyDeleteI hope Lake Silence is going well, it looks like a good one.
Thanks Greg. Yeah, sleep is my new best friend. :)
DeleteI'm really enjoying Lake Silence!
Oh noooooo I'm sorry to hear about The Plague, Tanya!! That sucks so much :( And I remember when I was sick not too long ago and literally all I did was sleep ;) Lol. It was incredible. I actually had no desire to watch anything or blog or read. It was crazy. But it actually gave me a pretty good break, haha.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better this week!
Thanks Amy. Yep, sleep is definitely what I'm best at these days. :)
DeleteI know how you feel about being sick-sleeping was pretty much the only thing that happened! Hopefully you are past the worst of it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Samantha. I do think the worst has past... but the lingering cough and general malaise is so lame.
DeleteOh I have seen many bloggers that were sick this past week, and that's a shame. I hope you are feeling much better!! Moonlight Sins looks like a good read-I hope this week is much better for ya!!
ReplyDeleteWe all need spring to arrive and stay! Hope you continue to feel better.
ReplyDeleteSo true, Nise! Maybe we can all get over these colds and the flu. Seems like everyone is sick lately.
DeleteUgh, being sick is the worst!! I'm glad you rested a lot though it's never fun when you're so blah/tired that you can't even enjoy reading! Hopefully this week will be better.

Thanks Lauren. Yeah, I knew it was bad when I was even too worn out to read. Haha. This week is definitely starting off better.
DeleteA sinus infection?! At least now you can attack it with medications! Lol. I hope you start feeling better soon. Like you, I can't read when I'm sick. Books feel too heavy, audiobooks are too loud, and I just want to sleep for days. It's so awful when you're sick and have kids at home to take care of. It's like you're not allowed to just be sick.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the cover for Ghosted!
Do You Dog-ear?
Thanks so much, Lindsi. Yep, a round of antibiotics has helped. The worst is over - now I'm just dealing with exhaustion. Man, it takes a long time for me to get any stamina back. At least I don't have the kid problem. I can come home from the office and collapse. :)
DeleteSorry you're so sick! Yikes, that's a long spell to feel under the weather! I used to get sinus infections every year but either I'm not getting them lately or in denial :) Some people are more prone to them.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy Lake Silence. I need to read the book before that one... or maybe 2 of them? I read three in the series so far anyway, and need to catch up.
Feel better!
Thanks Kari. Yeah, I'm so over being sick. LOL Enough already!
DeleteI listened to all of the previous 5 books in The Others series on audio so it feels so weird to actually be reading this new one. I think as soon as it's released next week I'll get the audio version as well.
Oh dear, I hope you get better soon, Tanya! :( Being sick sucks--I've had non-stop coughs and colds for the past week, too. D:
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Aimee. It feels like everyone has been sick with one thing or another lately! Hope you feel better, too!
DeleteSo sorry you've been sick(er). And it's not even the kind of sickness that allows you to read---at least those feel somewhat fulfilling. LOL! Hope it passes very soon!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
LOL I know! If I'm going to be sick, at least let me enjoy it a little by reading. Not this time, though. :(
DeleteOh no, you're still sick, that sucks so much. I hope this week is better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Olivia. I’m certainly ready to be done with this!
DeleteI love Ghosted, anything JMD writes I tend to love!
ReplyDeleteGhosted will be my first by Darhower and I can’t wait!
DeleteLooking up your symptoms online never ends well. A few weeks ago, I was having some weird eye problems and I looked up the symptoms and I discovered that I either have an eye infection or am going blind. So comforting.
ReplyDeleteNope, nothing good ever came from Googling symptoms. LOL
DeleteFingers crossed that you actually had an eye infection... and not the alternative. Ha!
I've managed to avoid getting sick this whole winter even though my husband was sick most of December.
ReplyDeleteI was stuck in a room with almost 100 people yesterday (for jury duty) and I'm convinced that's what's going to take me out lol
I hope you finally kick this thing!
Karen @ For What It's Worth
Oh geez, yeah, stuck in a room with a bunch of people all day... hope you had a vat of Purell. LOL
DeleteUgh sorry to hear The Plague came back with vengeance disguise as a sinus infection which are just as bad! :( BUT Moaning is a great therapy! and well glad you are living! I like my urban fantasies with ghost, dead people and all that but I like my BFF blogger to be as alive as possible :) and talking about UF how are you liking Lake Silence?
ReplyDeleteStill alive, thank you very much. :) But I am a pro at moaning by now. I could give lessons. As for Lake Silence, it’s a slow going (just because I’m sick and don’t always feel like reading) but I’m loving being back in the world of The Others!
DeleteUgh, I'm sorry for the seemingly never ending sickness. I'm glad you got the bag o drugs though LOL. I understand that you didn't feel like reading. I'm the same way when I'm sick.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon.
Thanks Aleen. Yeah, it’s been a rough couple weeks! Thankfully the worst is over... I’m just trying to get y strength back. I have zero stamina these days. Blah.
DeleteOh no! Sinus infections are the absolute worst! Hope it passes quickly and keep imbibing from the big bag of drugs!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicola. Yeah, sinus infections are no fun and this one definitely knocked me down! The worst is over, though (at least I hope!), and I seem to be on the mend. Thank goodness for that bag of drugs! LOL
