Top Ten Tuesday: Kicking off the Cobwebs Edition

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Books That Have Been on My TBR the Longest
(that I still haven't read)

The Edge of Never | J.A. Redmerski
Added to TBR: June 2013
I do this all the time: There's a book I think I'm going to love, so I continually put off reading it in order to prolong the anticipation. I do this A LOT. And this one is a prime example.

Covet | Tracey Garvis Graves
Added to TBR: March 2013
Tracey's On the Island is one of my all time favorites, and yet I still haven't read Covet (or White-Hot Hack).

My Life Next Door | Huntley Fitzpatrick
Added to TBR: November 2012
It's YA, it's contemporary, so what gives?

Poison Princess | Kresley Cole
Added to TBR: August 2012
I have a friend who loves this series and swears I will, too. Still hasn't happened, though.

Before I Met You | Lisa Jewell
Added to TBR: July 2012
I *love* Lisa Jewell. So why is this still on my TBR after 5+ years?

Anna and the French Kiss | Stephanie Perkins
Added to TBR: August 2011
Am I officially the only person who hasn't read this? I think I might be.

I'd Know You Anywhere | Laura Lippman
Added to TBR: July 2010
I won this one and have never picked it up. :(

From Notting Hill with Love Actually | Ali McNamara
Added to TBR: May 2010
This sounded cute when I added it (over 7 years ago) but the GoodReads rating aren't great and I've sort of lost interest.

The Vampire Academy | Richelle Mead
Added to TBR: May 2010
Another one where seemingly everyone has read it except me.

The Diplomat's Wife | Pam Jenoff
Added to TBR: April 2008
I like historical fiction and I enjoyed Jenoff's The Kommandant's Girl, but I still haven't picked this one up.

Have you read any of these?

What book has been on your TBR the longest?

    1. You would think so, right? Contemporary romance? Yes, please! And yet year after year it just sits on the shelf. Maybe this is the year? LOL

  3. I still want to read From Notting Hill...but yeah, I've had that on my wish list for a long time. LOL Ooh I do like Anna and the French Kiss. Blogger love made me read that, and I'm so glad. I also really love I'd Know You Anywhere. I haven't read any of the others!

    1. Ah, so I'm not the only one who has has From Notting Hill on her TBR for ages. :) Maybe eventually we'll both get around to reading it. Haha.

    1. Okay, seeing your comment about The Edge of Never totally makes me want to put it right at the top of the stack and read it SOON. I love a good emotional read.

  5. OK, I read three of these. VA is a top series for me (liked the spinoff even more than the original), absolutely adored My Life Next Door. That family was truly wonderful! Liked Anna, but feel it's a little overrated.

    1. I've heard that about VA - that the spin-off is even better. I feel like I will love My Life Next Door and yet there it sits. I think I shall pull it off the shelf (gasp!) and put it beside my reading chair so I'll quit forgetting about it.

  6. I don't even want to begin to look at how long some of my books have been on my TBR--probably longer than most of these. Dang shame.

    1. Not sure if I should say "you're welcome" or "sorry" for adding to your TBR. LOL

  8. Hahha you aren't alone with Anna! Especially because not only have I not read it yet, but I have officially kicked it off my TBR. So basically, you'll never be the last one to have read it! And Vampire Academy is one I have gone back and forth on for ages... maybe one of these days? Or not, who knows!

    1. Bahaha! That's one way to move it off your TBR - just kick it to the curb! I did a fairly ruthless weed-out of my TBR last year and Anna managed to still squeak by. If it doesn't happen this year Anna is a goner. :)

  9. "There's a book I think I'm going to love, so I continually put off reading it in order to prolong the anticipation." It's like you know my mind.

The Edge of Never was pretty great! Hope you get to it soon! And I definitely think you'll love Anna & The French Kiss!

    1. OMG, you do the same thing?! How crazy is that? It's like, I'm dying to read, I know I'll love it... so let's just ignore it and let it sit there for 3 years. LOL

  10. Okay, I started off looking at your list and giggling because I have so many of the same books sitting on my shelves gathering dust. But then I got to one that...seriously, Tanya? You haven't read Vampire Academy????? LOL I read it when it first released wanting something after Twilight. I almost didn't buy it because I didn't like the cover, but my older daughter told me that'd be judging a book by its cover. Ha! So I got it and loved it. I'm a big Richelle Mead fan. :) Okay, that was probably way more than you needed to know. It is interesting to note that you and I share a similar taste in books we purchase and then let languish. :)

    1. I know, I know! I even have the entire VA boxed set sitting on my shelf so I have no excuse. I had started to wonder if maybe I should just unhaul it and move on but I've heard from several people (and now you!) that it is so worth reading. So it stays on the shelf and I make a better effort of making it happen this year! :)

  11. From Notting Hill sounds fun, too bad the GR ratings aren't great. :( And I always tell myself I want to read Vampire academy but I still haven't. *sigh*
