The Sunday Post #261 | September 19, 2021

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.

It's been a good week! I worked only three days and was off Thursday and Friday. One might even think there was a correlation between those two statements. :) I had several days off planned since we had a trip booked. We cancelled the trip last month (Covid numbers in Florida have skyrocketed over the summer) but I decided to take the time off anyway. It's been fabulous to do whatever I want with no schedule, hit a few stores on off-hours without crowds, and just enjoy the downtime. I don't go back to the office until Wednesday and I'm so looking forward to the next few days.

Today I'll be driving out to the beach for a visit with my sister. She's had a lot of home renovation done over the last several months and I'm excited to see the finished product. It's been a while since I've seen her so I'm looking forward to a good visit.

This week's 80's music fix is Dreamtime (1986) by Daryl Hall. Enjoy!

  2. How lovely to have a short week of work and a nice long weekend - I think there is definitely a correlation with that and your happiness! 😉 On the other hand, my work has mostly been made of work and early nights, except for a much deserved hair cut. 💇‍♀️ Take care and happy reading! 😃

    1. A new haircut can be such a treat and lift your spirits. I did the same on Saturday and felt great afterwards! :)

  3. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your sister. NJ's rate of transmission is rising and has had over 27K covid deaths.

    1. Oh no, sorry to hear it, Sam. It's not like me to be down and discouraged, but over a year and a half of this is definitely taking its toll. I am not at all hopeful that this will end any time soon.

  4. That stinks that you had to cancel your trip, but that's great that you still took the time off work. It's so nice to just relax for a few days!

  6. I hope you enjoy the time with your sister! It is always disappointing to cancel stuff since it feels like we don't have quite as much to look forward to.

    1. Exactly, Deanna. We've cancelled at least three trips now (maybe more?). It's become pretty disheartening since I see no end in sight.

  11. Yeah most states closest to the border are rising in covid numbers and I feel for you all. Our numbers are getting high too, but thankfully our deaths are staying low. I do know Florida is also getting many people from our neighbors up north (their restrictions are so bad up in Canada) So lets hope we can ride this wave and that the deaths will be minimal.

    1. I was hopeful that the vaccine would turn things around and end this thing, but here we are. It's discouraging to see that so little has changed down here.

  12. Enjoy your days off!! I have seen the numbers in FL-it is bad! Hopefully people will be careful and protect themselves and others.

  19. A 3 day work week is ideal (every day lol). I feel you about canceling things. A friend of mine is getting married on Friday and we opted to attend virtually. It just all sucks.

I hope you had a wonderful beach day.
