The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
It's been a great week - hope it has been for you, too! It was a mostly easy week at the office. One boss was out all week and the other two were on travel for a couple days. So for two days I was completely alone and that was seven kinds of fabulous.
On Friday I received my second Book Beau order and I love it just as much as the first. I first met Benita on Colleen Hoover's CoHorts Facebook group and learned of her etsy shop where she sells her handmade Book Beau book sleeves. They come in two sizes (for traditionally published trade paperbacks and the slightly larger indie versions) and they're perfect at protecting your paperback books so you can toss them in your purse/tote/backpack without them getting damaged. Genius!
Yesterday (Saturday) was stormy most of the day but that didn't stop me from going out to lunch at one of my newer favorites - Chicken Salad Chick. Love this place! It's probably a good thing I don't have one closer to the house or the office or I'd be there every day.
By the time this posts today I'll be having breakfast with my dad for Father's Day. My dad is 76 now, retired, sweet and kind - and pretty much everything I learned about being a good person came from him. I hope everyone has a dad or father-figure to hug today.
Me and my Dad - 2010 |
Finished: The Edge of Juniper by Lora Richardson
A new favorite YA contemporary!
Remembering Everly by J.L. Berg
The wrap-up to the Lost & Found duology was pretty good and I enjoyed getting answers and seeing how everything would play out..
The Best Goodbye by Abbi Glines
Not my favorite in the Rosemary Beach series but still entertaining.
Current: Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon
I've never been a huge fan of audio books but once in a blue moon I'll listen to one on my daily commute to and from the office. This one has been good for entertainment on the drive.
Back to Us by Teresa Roman
I'm hooked on this contemporary romance. The fact that the male MC was a Navy Corpsman (same as my husband) has provided a personal connection that I love.
KINDLE:
The Sea of Tranquility - Teresa Roman
Killian - Sabrina Paige
Arouse - Nina Lane
How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
Fill me in... I'd love to hear!
Those book sleeves are actually really awesome! I hope you have a lovely week :)
ReplyDeleteHere is my Sunday Post
Molly @ Molly's Book Nook
Thanks Molly! I'm totally loving the book sleeves. Now I have no qualms about tossing a paperback into my bag or tote, know that I know it's protected. :)
DeleteAwesome books!! And those book sleeves are cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Samantha! :) I'm loving the books sleeves... any excuse to play with my books more. LOL
DeleteThe Sea of Tranquillity! Read that next. Actually after Us. I need to do a reread of it. It's been like 4 years. But all the feels are still so real.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good day with your dad!
I need to prepare myself emotionally for The Sea of Tranquility. I was going to download Us yesterday but it's $4.99 and I have $4.98 remaining on my gift card and I couldn't bear the thought of a $0.01 charge on my card. LOL I need to buy a cheaper book first or load another gift card. :)
DeleteHope you had a great breakfast with your dad! I'd never heard of a book beau before but that is genius! Glad you had such a great week and that you read Him !!!!!! ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Eva, it was great. It's always peaceful and calming being around my dad. He and I are alike in that we're more reserved. My mom is the talker, me and my dad prefer to sit back and listen/observe rather than be the center of attention. :)
DeleteThe Book Beau's are awesome!
I love the book sleeves. I may have to look into getting one!! Lots of great books this week. hope you enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteI'm just loving the Book Beau's, Grace. I feel so much better about carting around physical copies now. And the smaller one would even be great as a Kindle sleeve!
DeleteBook sleeves? So cool! Ohh I look forward to your Everything, Everything review, that book...
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the books sleeves, Kei! So easy now to toss a paperback in my bag without worrying about it getting bent up. Plus they just look pretty. :) I finished listening to Everything Everything yesterday. I had a couple quibbles with the narration but I enjoyed the story so, so much.
DeleteWow Tanya! I'm happy that you read Back To Us by Teresa Roman and even happier to know that you enjoyed it and even connected to the characters. :)
ReplyDeleteI am *so* glad I saw it on your blog, Pearl! I had a real connection with it and can't wait to write up my review.
DeleteThat looks delicious! Look the anatomy of a book worm! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little obsessed with Chicken Salad Chick at this point. LOL And I got such a laugh from that graphic. :)
DeleteOne of my favorite etsy shops is Borsa Bella (https://www.etsy.com/shop/BorsaBella)! When I got an eReader ages ago I was looking for a purse that it would fit in and still be able to carry my wallet and other things. I've purchased 2 purses from her as well as a couple of other smaller bags.
ReplyDeleteThe purse style I love is the cross-body bag. It fits my eReader or a paperback book!
Thanks Terri - I'll have to check that out. :)
