I love characters with interesting and unique names so this week's T5W is a fun one. But, straight up, I'm telling you now that I'm totally cheating. I have way more than five so I'm getting a little creative. :)
I love Abbi's Rosemary Beach series and it has some great character names.
1. NAMES FROM ABBI GLINES BOOKS
I love Abbi's Rosemary Beach series and it has some great character names.
Tripp Newark
Mase Colt-Manning
Rush Finlay
Kiro Manning
2. NAMES FROM KATIE MCGARRY BOOKS
Katie doesn't necessarily go for unusual names but there are still a couple that I really loved.
Logan
Breanna
3. NAMES FROM JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT BOOKS
JLA's Dark Elements series is one of the best for unique names that caught my attention and were totally memorable. And I'm sneaking in one from the Covenant series, too.
Roth
Zayne
Cayman
Seth
4. NAMES FROM COLLEEN HOOVER BOOKS
Colleen has mentioned in the past about how she likes to use unique character names that aren't seen anywhere else. And I love that. My favorites are:
Tate
Miles
Six
Lake
Ridge
5. AND ALL THE REST...
Everly
Forgetting August - J.L. Berg
Pixie
Best Kind of Broken - Chelsea Fine
Fallon & Cade
Just a Little Flirt - Renita Pizzitola
Knox & Harlow
To the Stars - Molly McAdams
What are some of your favorite character names?
Abbi Glines always have colorful names!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't actually thought of good names, only ridiculous ones, haha!!
LOL Well ridiculous names are fun, too! :)
DeleteI love colleen hoover books, and i espically love the names you picked to include from her books.
ReplyDeleteThanks Chloe! CoHo always uses such great names. I'm excited to check out your picks! :)

ReplyDeleteOh so many great ones here!! I love Silas, Miles, Ridge and Everly. I think my favorite book name is Isla from the Anna and the French Kiss series.
ReplyDeleteOh, Isla is beautiful. That didn't occur to me since I've yet to read the book. I know, I know... a girl who adores contemporary romance but has yet to read anything by Stephanie Perkins. Crazy! :)
DeleteLove the name Tripp, Tate, Six, and Ridge. Heck they all sound good!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for interesting names. Somehow I have more fun reading a book with names like those instead of a bunch of Mike's and Ashley's. LOL
DeleteLove the name Tripp, Tate, Six, and Ridge. Heck they all sound good!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the other authors, but JLA and CoHo definitely have some unique names in their books! Great list, Tanya :))
ReplyDeleteRuzaika @ The Regal Critiques
Thanks Ruzaika! I love how JLA and CoHo use unique names. Somehow it makes the reading experience more fun. :)
DeleteI don't necessarily have favourite names. I guess I'd lean more towards some fantasy ones that fit with that world(even if I have no idea how to pronounce said name).
ReplyDeleteI hardly ever pick up fantasy (just not drawn to it) but any time I do that names always trip me up. I end up making up my own pronunciation or just calling them what I want. LOL
DeleteOooh this is FUN! I am such a fan of names, I fear I could go on for DAYS. Lena and Sam are my kids' names and they are in a few books, so I mean, those bwahah. But let me think.
ReplyDeleteVhalla from Air Awakens, Octavia and Lincoln from The 100 (though Idk if Lincoln was ever in the books, but shhh).. okay so my mind is empty, so I am cheating. I did a post on this once for a TTT Freebie. So. Here we go!
Rue and Finnick, Penryn (Angelfall), Henry and Olivia (The Cure for Dreaming), Ash (The Jewel), Ruby (The Darkest Minds), Simon (TMI), Vivian (Vivian Apple at the End of the World)... OH I thought of more! Nora (Nora & Kettle), Stella (The Creeping), Imogene (The Mystery of Hollow Places), Natalie (The Love that Split the World)... Okay I must be done now because I am tired 😂 I love your picks too!
Oh, I love Lena and Sam! I don't think I've ever heard your kids names before. Sam especially... that one just always makes me smile. I love coming across a character named Sam. Seems like it's always a good guy. :)
DeleteLove your picks! Finnick was an awesome name. I've always thought Penryn was super cool even though I've yet to read the book(s). Seeing Nora, Stella and Imogene makes me think you might have a thing for old-fashioned names. :)
I love Abbi Glines, and Kiro OMG I still can't talk about him without crying. Plus, this is your friendly reminder that you need some Tillie Cole in your life... ♥
ReplyDeleteKiro! I know... doesn't it just break your heart. I love that Abbi wrote his book.
DeleteLOL And thank you for the friendly reminder, Kei. I need it! I'm kind of putting together a loose summer TBR list and I think something by Tillie has to be on there.
I really like the names Kiro and Zayne, they're so cute! Can you believe I haven't read anything by Abbi or Katie. I was supposed to pick up Nowhere but Here last year but I have no idea what happened lol. Did you like that one?
ReplyDeleteRhysand, Amren, Vhalla, Kaz, Akiva, and Karou are some of my favorite character names!
No Abbi, no Katie? Oh Tika, what am I going to do with you? lol Actually you might not like the Abbi Glines stuff. I'm thinking you might find them too vapid. Bahaha. But I admit that I am hooked. Total brain candy. But Katie... yes, you absolutely need to read Nowhere But Here. It was WONDERFUL. The second book, Walk the Edge, was excellent, too, but Nowhere But Here really captured my heart.
DeleteOh, how could I have forgotten Rhysand?! Love it. And Karou. I haven't read the DoSaB trilogy yet but I do like that name.
LOVE Roth and Ridge as names! I am OBSESSED with R names and I want all my kids one day to be named with R names, so I might keep these two in the back of my brain for one day!:) thanks Tanya!
ReplyDeleteand HA i love how you found your way about the 5 rule! very clever!:) thanks for sharing!

So funny that you have a thing for R names! I guess my parents had a thing for T names because me and my sisters all have names that start with T. :) I do love Roth and Ridge, though. And just thinking about Ridge makes my heart melt because I loved him so much. <3
