The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
It's been two weeks since my last Sunday Post and I'm so bummed I missed last week! But the previous week had been so hectic and exhausting that by the time Sunday rolled around I just didn't have it in me to post... or do much of anything. :) I totally vegged last Sunday and it was fabulous. Note to self: mental health days are highly underrated.
So, a quick update from the last *two* weeks: week before last included an unexpected trip to NC for a funeral. My sister-in-law's mother passed away and though I had never met her, my husband had known her since childhood and we went to be there for my sister-in-law (who is simply one of the best people walking this earth). It was a long three days but I'm glad we were there.
The day after we returned was an event I'd been excited about for months: Sassy in Jacksonville. I was there solely to see Krista & Becca Ritchie and it ended up being one of the best days ever. I also met up with my oh-so-wonderful friend Sarah (from Words With Sarah) and it was fantastic to see her again. I'll do a separate post on the event soon but suffice it to say: It. Was. Awesome.
This past week was a lot less eventful and it was actually nice to get back to the office and a regular routine. My only complaint these days is that summer is in full effect here in Florida and I'm about ready to hibernate until Thanksgiving. The heat and humidity are doing me in... and it's only June. It's going to be a looong summer. *fans self*
Finished: The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Loved, loved, loved it. JLA is one of my go-to authors and she truly out-did herself with this one. It was emotional and heartfelt and I was completely invested.
The Way I Used to Be by Amber Smith
I listened to this on audio which is something I very rarely do. I'm typically not a fan of audio books but downloaded this one on a whim and...wow. So powerful and so good. This one truly made an impact on me.
Current: The Edge of Juniper by Lora Richardson
Lora contacted me recently to read and review her new YA contemporary (which releases today!). I just finished it earlier today and I enjoyed it so, so much. This is *exactly* what I want in a YA contemporary and I'll be recommending this one to anyone who will listen. :)

Mental Health days are so underrated!! That event sounds like fun!! Glad you had a good time! So awesome you won a fire. Great books in your bookworm box. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm all for more mental health days! :)
DeleteAmazing haul! I'm glad you were able to be there for your sister in law, too. That event sounds so awesome, and YAY for hanging out with fave authors and bloggers!! I definitely could not handle summer in Florida!!
ReplyDeleteThe author event was awesome and getting to Sarah again was great. :) And summers in FL are so lame. Might as well live on the sun. lol
DeleteYou and Sarah still need to tell me all about meeting the twin goddesses. And of course seeing each other. <3
ReplyDeleteFor some terribly strange reason, I've yet to read The Problem With Forever. Haven't even reached for it. :/
Haha. I also grabbed Last Will and Testament since you know, sale.
I know, I'm so behind on reviews and posts it's pitiful, but I'll get something posted about the event soon. The meet-up here in Jax was even longer than the one in Savannah last year. Loved it! :)
DeleteMust read The Problem with Forever. So, so good!
I'm sorry about your loss, but at least you had a decent week otherwise. I'm glad about that.I can't wait to see your review for The Problem With Forever.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jazmen. It wasn't a personal loss but it's still never easy or fun to be there for stuff like that. I'm still mulling over my thoughts for The Problem with Forever. It's one of those rare books where I feel like nothing I can say will do it justice.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed The Problem with Forever by JLA! I've seen people raving about it but I've yet to get myself a copy. Also, a kindle fire!!! Woohoo, congrats! <3 And I hope you enjoy Adorkable because I loooooved it. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'n never been disappointed by JLA but The Problem with Forever was even better than I expected/hoped. And I can't wait to read Adorkable - it sounds like so much fun!
DeleteLast Will and Testament is awesome! I hope you like it! I've read a few books by Dahlia and she never dissapoints!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I am so sorry for your loss Tanya! I hope things quiet down for you soon and you get some more mental health days to just chill and enjoy life! (and reading of course;)
Have a great week!
<3 Em
I'm totally excited for Last Will and Testament! Even more so now. I've never read anything by Adler so I'm hopeful that I'll be discovering a new favorite.
