The Sunday Post #28

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

Happy weekend! It's been a great week and the weekend has been lots of fun. The week was full of fun mail: a book I ordered for my father's upcoming birthday, my order from ColourPop arrived, a book I won in a giveaway, and an entire box of books from another giveaway! Talk about good mail days!

On Wednesday The Husband went to a Daddy & Me breakfast with our niece. Her dad is working out of town right now so Robert stepped in and Brooke was a happy girl. :) I just love this pic of them together.

Entangled Teen's Instagram photo challenge for the Lux series wrapped up on Friday. I had so much fun with it! These are a few of my favorites that I posted for the challenge:

Monday, September 26: Monday was my stop on the blog tour for Choosing Happy by Samatha Harris. This second book in the Madison Square companion series was a great contemporary romance and you can get the first book for free right now on Amazon!

Thursday, September 29: The #ShelfLove Challenge for September was in honor of Be Kind to Writers and Editors Month. So thank you's to my favorite authors seemed in order.

Friday, September 30: Time for another Best In Books! I love this monthly feature where I pick my favorite from several (random and changing) categories. Did you see which book was chosen as my Best Book in September?

Saturday, October 1: It was a day late due to some technical issues, but another Freebie Friday giveaway was posted on Saturday! If you see anything you like, be sure to enter the giveaway. I've been loving sending books to new owners! :)

    1. Emily, I could just cry! I had to set aside ACOMAF this morning!!! I got an email about a blog tour that I had *totally* forgot all about. I'm supposed to share a review in the blog tour and I hadn't even started the book. Gah! So, bye bye Rhys (whaaa!) for now. I'm hoping the review book is a quick read. At least I hadn't got far into ACOMAF yet... I think I was only at 10%. It was Feyre's first morning at Night Court. But I was already hooked. *huge sigh* Fingers crossed that I can fly thru this review book, write the review, and get back to it fast!

    1. Doing the Lux challenge was so much fun! I mean, any excuse for Daemon. :) I still have the rest of Oblivion to finish. I rest the first part of it - Oblivion - from Daemon's POV. But I still have to read the rest of it - Onyx and Opal - from Daemon's POV. I just love being in his head.

  4. Yes! I definitely recommend her other contemporaries and her sci-fi novel Pivot Point. She's a great writer.

    1. I know... same here! I was just telling Eva (All Books Considered) that I need to finish reading Oblivion. I rest the first part of it - Obsidian - from Daemon's POV. But I still have to read the rest of it - Onyx and Opal - from Daemon's POV.

  6. I love that your hubby took your niece to the daddy/daughter breakfast. That's awesome! You *did* have a good book week, didn't you? I always like getting books in the mail. It makes for a good week. I'm so happy you like all the goodies I sent. I hope you'll enjoy the books. :) Oh, and I very much enjoyed your Lux pics. DAEMON! <3

    1. Aw, thanks Brandee. I was so glad my sister asked Robert to go. He enjoyed going and Brooke loved having him there. It's funny, I've realized that I like getting book mail even when it's not for me. LOL I was excited to receive the book for my dad and today I should have a book delivered for my sister's birthday. Gotta love book mail... no matter who it's for! :)

  9. Nice pictures. I am horrible at taking nice photos of books. >.< I just don't have a knack for it. I like the one with Origin and the candles. :)

    1. Aw, thanks Kristin! And if any of the photos turned out well it was be sheer luck/accident. LOL I am *not* a photographer and I'm always drooling when I see those gorgeous book photos on Instagram. The settings, the props... yeah, I'm not that gifted. But I do love looking at them. :)

  10. Yay for winning giveaways! I always get excited when I see that a book came straight from the author too. Something about getting mail from a favorite author seems so exciting!

    1. Thanks Amber! My husband was happy to go be with my niece at her school. She's such a sweetheart. :)

As for ACOMAF... I've had so little time to read lately and it's killing me! Hurricane Matthew came through and with preparations and then having family who evacuated to my house there's just been no time to read. But I am loving what I've read so far and can't wait to get further into it! I was so Team Tamlin but he's already made me so mad that I can't imagine forgiving him.
