The Sunday Post #57 (on a Monday)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

Yes, I'm a day late with The Sunday Post but Girl Plus Books went through quite the overhaul over the weekend. I'd had the same look for almost two years and I was ready for something new. I wanted something cleaner, more streamlined, and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I still have some tweaking to do here and there but I'm really pleased with the new look. Hopefully you are, too! :)

The heat is here in full force now: 98 degrees today. My plan for the day: stay inside. I don't tolerate the heat well (ironic coming from a native Floridian, I know) so when the temps hit 90+ I'm better off indoors.

Lastly, for my American friends, however you are spending the day - at work, at home, at the beach - I hope you will spare a moment to remember the true meaning of Memorial Day. A day meant to remember and honor those who gave their lives in the service and protection of America's freedom.

  1. Wow Tanya I LOVE your new blog look! It's so clean and gorgeous <3 Blog make-overs are so fun - and stressful - to do ;)

I hope you love Letters to the Lost. I read it recently and it's easily become one of my favourite books of the year so far. Just amazing. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it :)

    Have a wonderful week!

    1. Thanks Amy! I'm so happy with the update... I keep coming back to check it out. LOL

I *loved* Letters to the Lost. I read it last month when I got it from the library and loved it so much that I just had to purchase my own copy. Declan's story really broke my heart.

  2. Oh, I really love the new look - especially your header! And yay for some m/m e-books. I love m/m fiction (I have a whole LGBT+ blog with a lot of book reviews there: www.letsgetbeyondtolerance.blogspot.com) and I personally love Off Base and The Understatement of the Year.

    1. Thanks so much, Lauren! I'm so pleased with the header, too. I'll definitely be a repeat customer at the etsy shop I used. So glad to hear you enjoyed both those books. I was pretty confident buying The Understatement of the Year because I already know that I love Sarina Bowen. I was less sure about Off Base because I'm not familiar with Annabeth Albert.

Hope you're loving The One- I need to reread the series soon!!! (Well, the first three books because the last two were a mistake imo) :D

    1. Oh my goodness, THANK YOU, Ruzaika!! :) That is so nice to hear! <3

I really enjoyed The One - even more than I thought I would, actually. I was sad about two losses at the end of the book. :( And I don't plan to read The Heir or The Crown. Almost everyone I know have said they were a waste of time.

  4. I love how your blog looks Tanya! Glad you could find refuge indoors hope you enjoyed some reading. I always try to be grateful with our troops. I often say donate, say "Thank you for your service" when I see them and every time I see one in a restaurant I treat them their meal.

    1. That's so great to hear. And I know it's so appreciated. My husband served for 20 years so we're definitely a family that appreciates the military and their service.

    1. Thanks Aleen! Yes, it's still going to take quite a bit of tweaking here and there to get it exactly how I want it but I'm so happy to have the big stuff done. :)
