  1. I read a lot of YA, so I get to go to many fictional schools. I seem to really like the ones in fantasy and paranormal books. Probably because they are so different from my school experience. I taught for 12 years, and don't miss "back to school" at all. I feel like I only enjoyed the shopping part. =)

    1. Yeah, I imagine after 12 years you don't miss the back to school part so much. And I always preferred the shopping part myself. LOL

  2. GAH the only one of these I have read is Slammed (which I really enjoyed!) but I like the back to school idea! I must read the rest of these soon- I have most of them, so no excuses! The main thing I remember about going back to school and such is the weird feeling- you're half excited, half terrified, and it all just feels so... unknown and eerie. Great list!

    1. Yes! You nailed that feeling - half excited/half terrified. Although I think I leaned a little more toward the terrified side. LOL

  3. The only one I can recognize here is Eleanor and Park. But I am sure to check this list out!

    1. A List of Cages ripped my heart to shreds. Letters to the Lost was emotional but so good. And Sloppy Firsts... oh my gosh, the entire Jessica Darling series is *so* good. It's one of the first YA (which turned into NA) series I read that felt 100% realistic. It wasn't cutesy, it wasn't idealized - it was completely authentic.

  5. I love books set in schools - especially boarding schools (Harry Potter, Looking for Alaska). From your list, I love Simon Vs., Sloppy Firsts (I need to re-read it and continue with the series though) and I OWN Sea of Tranquility and Eleanor & Park that I need to read.

  6. Oh my goodness, I read "Sloppy Firsts" so long ago and absolutely loved it. I haven't thought about it in a long time. That's definitely a reread I need to do!

    1. Woman! The fact that you haven't read/finished Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda has me rethinking everything I know about you. LOL Move that to the top of your list. I'll consider it a personal favor. ;-) And Eleanor & Park... gah! Read the books. Or listen to the audio. Both are perfection. Okay, go read now... I'll be waiting.
