The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
- I've been in a tiny bit of a reading slump the past week. Other than listening to an audio book during my commute, I've barely picked up my current read. It's not the book at all - it's off to a good start - I just haven't felt like reading. *shudder* Hopefully this passes quickly.
- It was a quiet week at the office with one boss on a cruise in Greece and one boss on business travel. So it was just me and Boss #3. Amazing what you can get done with fewer interruptions. :)
- Last night my sister and I went to see Harry Potter in Concert. It was a showing of the first movie accompanied by the symphony orchestra. Such a great event! The audience was encouraged to be interactive so there was a lot of cheering at certain scenes, booing at Draco, etc. Lots of fun.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
You know I want to hear about it! :)
I wish I was on a cruise in Greece! Harry Potter in concert sounds like such a cool experience. I hope you get over your reading slump this week!
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
You and me both, Anna! I've always wanted to visit Greece. The HP concert was so great! The symphony is having more events like that (showing movies with live scores) and I'll definitely attend more.
DeleteHope the slump passes. HP in Concert sounds awesome!!! So cool. That random is so so true. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHP in Concert was awesome! So interactive and it was fun checking out all those thoat came in HP garb. :)
DeleteI hate reading slumps!! I had a huge one last month and I'm still not 100% over it. I really want to find a few new favorite authors or a 5 star read - I'm missing the euphoric feelings that come with an amazing book.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed The Opposite of You - Rachel Higginson - it's actually going to be featured on this weeks TTT post. TOP TEN Romances Featuring Culinary Delights. :D
Harry Potter in Concert sounds fabulous!!!!
How did you like Asa? I met Jay Crownover last weekend and her personality was pulling me in within the first few words - she was the HOOT!!!
Glad you're at least partly over your slump.
DeleteGreat to hear you enjoyed the Higginson book! I've not read anything by her so it's nice to hear some positive feedback.
Asa was great - one of my favorites from the Marked Men series. Jay was at ApollyCon last year but I missed meeting her because I was trapped in line for Jennifer Armentrout. Priorities! LOL
The Harry Potter Concert sounds wonderful. Reading slumps are the worst. I hope yours passes quickly. Love the random this week!
ReplyDeleteThe HP Concert was so much fun! I loved seeing everyone in their HP garb and the little kids in their robes were so cute. :)
DeleteI enjoyed Weiner's Who Do You Love, which reminds me that I have another of her books just wasting away on Pippa, my Kindle: Hungry Heart. Must read soon!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
I'm really enjoying Who Do You Love. Andy and Rachel just met for the second time. ♥
DeleteOoh, the Harry Potter Concert sounds fun. I'm not in a reading slump. More of a burn out. LOL Been reading and posting horror books every day for October. Think it's time to take a break and read a cozy. Enjoy your new reads:)
ReplyDeleteMy Sunday Post
I do the same thing... read too much of the same kind of book and then I'm dying for something totally different. Last month I got so burned out on YA contemporaries. I was desperate for something dark and gritty. LOL
DeleteI think the HP in concert would be amazing!!! Hope your slump passes quickly. Those are the worst.
ReplyDeleteHP in Concert was such a great event! I'm so glad there was a local showing. I know there were only select cities doing it. Our symphony is going to be doing more movie/symphony nights so I'll definitely attend others.
DeleteOooh! I've never heard of Harry Potter the concert! Glad you had a great time there!

Thanks :)
DeleteGlad you had fun at that Harry Potter event! Sounds like so much fun, kind of reminds of when I went to a showing of Rocky Horror Picture show. The audiences dresses up and boos at the screen. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've been in reading stumps too. It's sometimes good to take a break. Hope it passes quickly. ~Aleen
I said the same thing to my sister when we were there... that it almost felt like attending a Rocky Horror showing. :)
DeleteHope the slump passes soon! I had a bit of one recently too and thankfully th right book came along to break it.
ReplyDeleteLove the graphic- so true!
Hope that happens for me Greg... it'd be great to find just the right book to get me out of this slump.
Deletehaha love that comic; I can understand that feeling!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the Harry Potter concert was so much fun. It's coming near me at the end of December and I MUST get tickets. It's something I've wanted to do for awhile now.

Oh I hope you do get tickets for HP in Concert when it's in your area! I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts. Our symphony is going to be doing more of the movie + symphony events and I'm excited for them (next up is Home Alone in November).
DeleteThe Opposite of You is awesome, Tanya. I hope you'll enjoy it and it'll help you get back to enjoying reading. Have a wonderful week. 😁❤️
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to hear good feedback about The Opposite of You! Now I'm even more excited to pick it up. :)
DeleteSorry to hear you are in a slump. Maybe the time off from reading will do you some good. I admit, I have never been in one of these slumps, but sometimes when you step away, you know, absence makes the heart grow fonder. I have only read one Jennifer Weiner book, Good in Bed, but it was very enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've always found the worst thing I can do is force myself to read when I'm not feeling it so I'm trying to just let it pass. But it's driving me crazy. LOL
DeleteThat HP concert sounds like such a unique and fun idea! And I love the little cartoon at the bottom of this post---it's so true!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
HP in Concert was such a fun event! Our symphony has more of the movie/symphony events planned and I'll definitely be attending more of them. Next up is Home Alone in November and Raiders of the Lost Ark in February. :)
DeleteI am that comic! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh the live concert would be so cool to attend. Wish they had it here.
I know, right?! When my husband saw it he just laughed and asked if I was sure I hadn't drawn that one myself. LOL
DeleteSorry you've been in a slump :( Those are the worst. Hope this week gets you out of it.
ReplyDeleteThat HP concert sounds amazing! It's so cool you got to experience that.
Who Do You Love has a lovely cover - hope you enjoy it :) Have a great week, Tanya!

Thanks Amy - I hope so, too!
DeleteThe HP in Concert was such a fun event!
OMG Harry Potter in Concert sounds so good. I'm so jealous! I wish my only Boss went away too! He is only one but interrupts for 10 bosses! :) LOL I've been in a mini slump too, too exhausted to read [which is my normal state]. Only listening to audio books while I drive my kids around. Hope you get to read again soon! :)
ReplyDeleteHP in Concert was so much fun! I'm so glad our symphony took part in it. I hope we both getting over our semi-slumps soon! (Say that 3X fast.) And that cartoon... yes! So relatable. My husband was like, uh did you write this one yourself? LOL
Deletehahahaha sorry forgot to say that cartoon is SO ME! especially not wanting to read the last book of a series! You always find the best cartoons Tanya! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Tanya! Sorry about the reading slump :( I also hit a bit of a wall with a specific book that I was reading and I finally gave up on it last night. I am so far behind in my reading stats this year that I can't afford to struggle along with a book that I don't like - not to mention the amount of actual GOOD books that are sitting on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! The Harry Potter concert sounds amazing!!! Aargh! I'm so jealous!
And your totally random pic really resonates with me!
I hope you've been having a better reading week so far this week!
Oh no, sorry to hear it. Is it that Tiger's Daughter book? (Is that the title?) I remember you were having a hard time with it. Too many awesome books out there to spend time struggling with ones we aren't loving, right? :)
