The Sunday Post #150

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • There's been a lot going on this week both at home and at the office and it made for some busy days.
  • Our last class in the beginners yoga series was Thursday and I was sad to see it come to an end. But I'm looking forward to stepping into a "regular" class, maybe on the weekend instead of a weeknight.
  • Had appointments for The Husband and I yesterday for our yearly eye exams and new glasses/contact lenses. Cha-ching! Thank goodness for those FSA accounts. :)
  • I pre-ordered three books this week and am so excited for them all. The Bride Test - because I loved it so much and want a physical copy, The Unhoneymooners - because it's Christina Lauren and that cover (!!), and Red, White & Royal Blue because I'm crazy-excited to read it.

And now for your listening/viewing pleasure... :)

I think I've managed five posts per week for the previous two weeks but I also said in my last Sunday Post that it wouldn't be happening a third week in a row. LOL I knew it was going to be a busy week so I'm surprised I even managed two posts this week.

Short Take Reviews:
Getting Schooled by Emma Chase & Gentleman Sinner by Jodi Ellen Malpas

WHAT I READ IN THE LAST WEEK:
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:

The Unhoneymooners - Christina Lauren
I'm only about 20% in but there have been so many laugh out loud lines/moments in this one already. I'm curious to learn more about Ethan... and I already want a book about Olive's cousin Diego. :)

PHYSICAL BOOKS:

I read an arc of this last year and it was such a surprise hit. The hardcover was under $10 on Amazon and who can pass that up?

I am so excited to read this one! Last year I pre-ordered the paperback of The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros - partly because it sounded fabulous and partly because pre-orders came with a bonus book co-written by Rebecca and Jay! There were some delays with the printing so I finally received it yesterday and it's a beauty!

KINDLE BOOKS:

I've been meaning to read this one and when it dropped to 99¢ I nabbed it.

eARCS FOR REVIEW:

Grabbing a new release from K.A. Tucker is a no-brainer. And when it involves a second-chance romance, I'm even more excited.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Yoga is nice but I'm so not that good at it. I used to go to class but I was the least flexible and I felt so out of place. The Unhoneymooners was such a great book for me. I can't wait for the Bride Test. I might have to pre order! Have a great week!

    1. I am far from flexible but I still find myself enjoying it. I think I really lucked out with an amazing instructor who stresses that it's never about competition or keeping up. It's only a practice with yourself and you do the best you can with what you have on any given day. I love that. :)

I hope The Unhoneymooners continues to be fun!

  3. I wish the eBook of Love Scene would go on sale. I keep watching it, but it never budges. I have all three of your preorders to read. I am pretty sure I am going to love them. I went over to the mall to get my progressives, yes, I am that old, and the optical store wasn't open. So, I thought they just didn't open on Sunday, but the website says, open. I guess good help is hard to find and someone was late for work. I will have to go on Friday, when I am off.

    1. It's so lame that the ebook price of Love Scene, Take Two hasn't dropped yet. It's been 10 months since release... how about a little price break? *sigh* I'm right there with you on the progressives, sister. LOL I switch back and forth between glasses and contacts so I have the progressive lenses for my glasses and the multifocal contact lenses. Aging... oh what a joy. :) Annoying that you have to make a second trip for your glasses. Blah.

  4. Love Scene, Take Two looks good. I've had that on my wishlist for a while.
I'd never survive yoga... I'm the least flexible person in the world, lol.

    1. Love Scene, Take Two seemed to fly under the radar but it deserved so much more attention. I am truly not all that flexible but I still enjoy the practice. :)

    1. Thanks Becky - I'm hoping this week is a lot more low-key. The Bride Test was so, so good. And I'm totally enjoying The Unhoneymooners. It's so funny. :)

  6. Sometimes life is too busy to have time to blog lol. I'm going to be in London for a few weeks in May, so I'm trying to have some posts scheduled before hand. I don't want to take by laptop with me on vacation!

    1. So envious of your trip to London, Ethan. It's been about 10 years since I've been there. Good luck getting those posts pre-scheduled!

  8. That reminds me I need to get my eyes checked, haha. Thanks for the reminder! Love the look of your new books- so bright and colorful- love the covers. And Dancing Queen- such a good song. :)

    The Unhoneymooners looks great.

  10. Love your Totally Random - so so true. I really need to get better at scheduling posts because I'm so behind these days. I'm averaging around 2-3 posts a week at the moment, which isn't terrible, but still. LOL

    1. 2-3 posts a week is really my usual and I'm good with that. Somehow I had two weeks in a row with 5 posts each week. I was like, don't get used to this, people! LOL

  11. I do some yoga poses for stretching after running and it feels good. Yoga really builds strength and balance, though. Glad you're enjoying it!

I'm looking forward to The Bride Test and The Unhoneymooners, too! Love The Unhoneymooners cover I'd like a physical copy as well. Lately I've been barely able to get two posts out per week as well. Life is just really busy, so I get it. :)

    1. That's great how you can incorporate it with your running, Rachel. It's amazing how many benefits it has.

Two to three posts is really my norm so I don't know how I managed 5 posts a week for two weeks in a row. I was a total over-achiever those two weeks! LOL

  12. Yay for new glasses! I'm always excited when I get new glasses. I really enjoyed The Unhoneymooners a lot! And yes to a book for Diego! I also have Tucker's new book and I can't wait to start it!

  13. Glasses are SO expensive--it really is crazy. We have fantastic insurance now, but even with that, it's hard to believe how much it all adds up.

  18. I want The Bride Test soooo much!! It's my very most anticipated reads this year! I loved The Kiss Quotient and even got my mom to read it!! She's not a reader, never encouraged it, and would prefer a television show, BUT SHE'S READING IT. I'm thrilled, Tanya! Also, Yoga is awesome. I used to do a lot of it before I started kickboxing. I've found hitting and kicking things to be far more relaxing! ;)

    1. That's awesome that you got your mom to read TKQ! I share books with my mom sometimes (she just recently binged The Others series by Anne Bishop and loved it) but she wouldn't go for TKQ. Too much sex. LOL

  19. I am unsure if I am going to read The Bride Test or if I am going to get the audio. I have a physical copy but thinking I might like it better on audio as I have read TKQ that way.
    Enjoy the new books!

    1. I do typically stick with whatever format I started with. Like, if I start listening to a series on audio I'm probably going to listen to the rest of the series on audio instead of switching to the books. I read an e-arc of The Bride Test but I've heard the audio is good!
