Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Favorite Books from the Last 10 Years

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Favorite Books From The Last 10 Years
(one book per year)

To be honest I haven't been thrilled with several recent TTT themes but I was excited when I saw the topic for this week. I love the idea of looking back at my reading over the past decade and choosing a favorite from each year. I guess I should note that I am basing this on the books I read in each given year and not choosing only from the books that were published that year.

    1. I've been keeping a spreadsheet of everything I read for YEARS. And I've been using GoodReads since 2007. So it actually wasn't too tricky. :)

    1. It was hard to pick just one from each year - I was so tempted to cheat! I had to leave out a whole lot of awesome reads.

  6. I should have done two lists. I did all YA for mine, but The Nightingale is a definite favorite of mine, and the mere mention of it elicits tears from me.

    1. I know what you mean, Sam. That book was so powerful and so moving... it's emotional to even think about certain parts.

  12. I'm so happy Evelyn made it onto your list, that'd probably be my pick as well. :) The fact that Kristin Hannah appears three times on your list really makes me want to push The Nightingale up on my to-read. Great post, Tanya! :)

    1. Evelyn Hugo was an easy pick. That was definitely my #1 read of 2018. Taylor Jenkins Reid is just amazing. I wasn't really surprised that Kristin Hannah appeared so often on my list - she is a phenomenal storyteller.

  13. The Nightingale made my list too. I almost put Evelyn Hugo too but then decided not to since I didn't read it until this year. I did put Daisy Jones on mine though for this year. Had to get TJR on there somehow. :)

    1. I started at 2018 and went back, not counting this year. If I had, I'm pretty sure I would have picked Daisy Jones! It's hard to beat TJR.

  14. I still haven't read Maybe Someday... I know the basic plot with some spoilers and I know it'll make me feel so many things that I'm just not prepared for so I always put it off! :/

I'll always reading Breaking Dawn. I was recovering from the flu and sitting curled up with that book propped on my knees in between naps... It's weird that I felt so awful yet it's a good memory, lol.

    1. Maybe Someday was the first book I ever read by Colleen Hoover. I still have such a soft spot for it. It's one of the few books I've ever reread.

I love being able to tie a specific book to a specific time like that. :)
