Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Favorite Books From The Last 10 Years
(one book per year)
(one book per year)
To be honest I haven't been thrilled with several recent TTT themes but I was excited when I saw the topic for this week. I love the idea of looking back at my reading over the past decade and choosing a favorite from each year. I guess I should note that I am basing this on the books I read in each given year and not choosing only from the books that were published that year.

The Nightingale made my list too. I was close to having Evelyn Hugo and All the Ugly and Wonderful Things on my list too!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't surprised that three by Kristin Hannah made my list. Love her story telling!
DeleteYES TO BREAKING DAWN! And OMG SOME KIND OF PERFECT IS AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteGenesis @ Whispering Chapters
Some Kind of Perfect was the absolute perfect way to wrap up the original series!!
DeleteThis would be such a hard topic for me. I'm happy if I can remember what I read last week lol
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
I've been keeping a spreadsheet of everything I read for YEARS. And I've been using GoodReads since 2007. So it actually wasn't too tricky. :)
DeleteGreat list! I really want to cross The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo off my TBR this year.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to it soon, Jess! It really is deserving of all the hype.
DeleteI admire you for choosing only one book per year Tanya!!! And yes All the Ugly and Wonderful Things was brilliant!
ReplyDeleteIt was hard to pick just one from each year - I was so tempted to cheat! I had to leave out a whole lot of awesome reads.
DeleteI should have done two lists. I did all YA for mine, but The Nightingale is a definite favorite of mine, and the mere mention of it elicits tears from me.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean, Sam. That book was so powerful and so moving... it's emotional to even think about certain parts.
DeleteI had the Nightingale on my list as well! It is such a powerful book.
ReplyDeleteIt really is. That was one truly unforgettable story.
DeleteI do like this idea. I'd have a tough time figuring out a book for each year though. LOL

It was hard not to cheat and pick multiple books for each year! I had to leave out a lot of excellent reads.
DeleteI loved Breaking Dawn back then too! I wish I did this TTT. Great list, Tanya. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see your picks, Rachel! Maybe you could do it as a post on your own sometime.
DeleteI loved The Nightingale. It ended up being our book club pick. Great story!
ReplyDeleteI can see The Nightingale being perfect for a book club discussion.
DeleteWe have alot of the same favorite books! Great list!!
ReplyDelete~Kendra @ Kendra Loves Books
Book twins for the win! :)
DeleteI'm so happy Evelyn made it onto your list, that'd probably be my pick as well. :) The fact that Kristin Hannah appears three times on your list really makes me want to push The Nightingale up on my to-read. Great post, Tanya! :)
ReplyDeleteEvelyn Hugo was an easy pick. That was definitely my #1 read of 2018. Taylor Jenkins Reid is just amazing. I wasn't really surprised that Kristin Hannah appeared so often on my list - she is a phenomenal storyteller.
DeleteThe Nightingale made my list too. I almost put Evelyn Hugo too but then decided not to since I didn't read it until this year. I did put Daisy Jones on mine though for this year. Had to get TJR on there somehow. :)
ReplyDeleteI started at 2018 and went back, not counting this year. If I had, I'm pretty sure I would have picked Daisy Jones! It's hard to beat TJR.
DeleteI still haven't read Maybe Someday... I know the basic plot with some spoilers and I know it'll make me feel so many things that I'm just not prepared for so I always put it off! :/
ReplyDeleteI'll always reading Breaking Dawn. I was recovering from the flu and sitting curled up with that book propped on my knees in between naps... It's weird that I felt so awful yet it's a good memory, lol.
Maybe Someday was the first book I ever read by Colleen Hoover. I still have such a soft spot for it. It's one of the few books I've ever reread.
DeleteI love being able to tie a specific book to a specific time like that. :)
AH Breaking Dawn! I think I read that back in 2009?? I don't even remember when! haha
ReplyDeleteI was definitely checking GoodReads to figure out when I read what books. It's hard to believe it's been a decade since I read Breaking Dawn!
DeleteGreat list!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica :)
DeleteI really enjoyed Maybe Someday!!! I've wanted to read a Taylor Jenkins Reid book FOREVER. Any recs to start with?
ReplyDeleteYou can't go wrong starting with The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It was amazing!
DeleteGreat job on pickin those books! I don't know if I'd be able to pick just one book for each year.
ReplyDeleteI do hope to read the Twilight series sooooon! It's been on my shelves for ever.
I had to leave off a lot of good books, for sure! Hope you get to Twilight soon. It really was a fun series.
