It's that time again! One again Sophie at Beware of the Reader is kicking off December with daily prompts for all of the years' best reads. And this time she's joined by Bookstagrammers @sophiesreadingcorner, @pavlinamich, @eliz_white, and @utcabookblog. This is my third year participating and I'm excited to take part again.
DAY 4: MOST BEAUTIFUL COVER
Okay, I was good yesterday and played by the rules and only chose one answer for the prompt. But today... not a chance! Out of all the books I read in 2020, there were a handful of covers that really did it for me and stood out above the rest. Here, in no particular order, are my favorites.
The black wings, the red fire... the cover has an intensity that had me itching to dive right in.
All the covers for the Folk of the Air series were gorgeous but this final book was just *chef's kiss.*
The cover designer for Tucker's Wild series deserves a raise because the covers have all been stunning. But Wild at Heart is easily my favorite.
I am sooo over the illustrated cover trend. It has been done to death and I cringe every time I see them roll out one after another. But for some reason this one didn't send me into paroxysms of eye rolling. Instead, it seemed to capture the story in the perfect package.
HAVE YOU READ ANY OF THESE BOOKS?
WHAT COVER CAUGHT YOUR EYE THIS YEAR?
I love the covers on the Wild series; they perfectly capture the feel of the books!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Angela!
DeleteThe Rage and Ruin cover is so gorgeous!! I'm just starting the series before that one so I can read them!
ReplyDeleteOh, how exciting, Tracy! I loved that original trilogy so much! Hope you have fun with Layla and Zayne and Roth! :)
DeleteWild at Heart is such a great cover because it truly captures the character and setting. I love it.
ReplyDeleteIt really does, Deanna. So fitting.
DeleteLovely covers. I'm a huge fan of the Boyfriend Material cover. I just love the illustrations and how it has all the little aspects of London among the two guys.

That cover is just so perfect for the book.
DeleteI love the Queen of Nothing Cover and Boyfriend Material. Also look like books I'd like to read... I read one Holly Black years ago and really enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteI had only read one by Holly Black when I picked up the Folk of the Air trilogy. It was years ago when I read The Coldest Girl and Coldtown - and I loved it!
DeleteI like the Alaskan wilderness pictured on the Simple Wild book covers. It's really is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.
ReplyDeleteOne of these days - when travel is actually a possibility again - I would love to go and see it for myself.
DeleteI just love these covers that you grabbed up here, and I love everything Alaska, so I have a soft spot for Wild At Heart. The cover is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks Renee! I just love the Wild at Heart cover. The whole series has such gorgeous covers!
DeleteThose cover are gorgeous! I haven't read these books yet but Rage and Ruin, and Wild At Heart are definitely on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteRage and Ruin is so eye catching. And I am so desperate for the next book in the series! :)
DeleteSome great covers here, I love the Wild at Heart cover, I love all the covers for that series in fact. And I’m with you, the illustrated cover trend has been done to death but Boyfriend Material is certainly eyecatching.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Becky. The whole Wild series by Tucker has such gorgeous covers! They really capture the series.
DeleteBwahahha yes you've been naughty today Tanya but I totally get why!
ReplyDeleteImpossible to choose just one! :)
DeleteI love that cover for The queen of Nothing.
ReplyDeleteMe too, Greg. The whole Folk of the Air trilogy has such great covers.
DeleteI have not read any of these but I do love the cover of Rage and Ruin. I am kind of over the illustrated covers but agree that Boyfriend Material is a nice cover. I think the colors really pop.
ReplyDeleteI think so, too, Carole. That one really caught my eye... even though it is illustrated. :)
DeleteI love all of the covers for K.A. Tucker's Wild series, but the 2nd and 3rd book covers are the best. So pretty. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, Rachel. The covers for books 2 and 3 are just stunning!
DeleteI super love all these covers too! Especially Boyfriend Material!
ReplyDeleteBoyfriend Material has such a great cover! It's so fitting. :)
DeleteA million times yes to Rage and Ruin! The spinoff series covers are absolutely gorgeous and I love them even more than the original trilogy covers. Fabulous pick!

Yeah, the original trilogy started out with kind of cheesy covers, but those are the ones I have and I have a soft spot for them. I think those covers got revamped a while back, too.
DeleteQueen of Nothing is the only one I've read. Boyfriend Material I bought recently though god knows when I'll actually get to reading it. :/
ReplyDeleteI get it. It's the classic case of too many books and too little time. *sigh*
DeleteI love these covers too and am especially partial to Wild at Heart since I FINALLY read The Simple Wild last week. Soooo good.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed The Simple Wild!
DeleteCan we choose more than one answer!? Rats, I’ve missed a trick!
ReplyDeleteLOL I was being quite the rule breaker, Heather. Ha!
