Hope all those that celebrated had a wonderful Christmas. Whether it was with family and friends, or a smaller, quieter Covid Christmas, I hope you enjoyed the day.
I had assumed when I took off all week that I would have all the time in the world to do all the things, including blog posts and book reviews but... yeah, that didn't happen. Somehow it still managed to be a busy week with appointments, errands, gift wrapping, cooking, and more. Still, it was a wonderful week and it was so nice to have the time off to immerse myself in the season.
Christmas Eve was lots of fun - filled with family, food, games and gifts. Christmas Day was quieter, with just my mom coming over for lunch, but even so the busy-ness of the last few days caught up with me and I was exhausted. I indulged in a looong nap yesterday afternoon!

I always enjoy Kenny G's Millennium Version of Auld Lang Syne. And I get teary when President Reagan talks about the Challenger crew. Every single time.

Merry Christmas! We had a quieter Christmas too, as it turned out... and Christmas Eve was our main celebration as well, with my mom coming over. Glad you had a nice one. :)
ReplyDeleteNow we have New Years coming lol :)
Quieter celebrations seems to be the order of the day.
DeleteAnd NYE is always a quiet one on this end. :)
Yeah w don't often do much on NYE either...
DeleteLooks like your holiday was merry and bright! I spy a bunch of Piper Rayne books. I have not read anything by that author (yet)
ReplyDeleteI've gotten hooked on this Piper Rayne series ever since I read the prequel novella a month or so ago. It's a big. blended family and I guess each sibling has their story.
DeleteA belated Merry Christmas! I get what you mean about last week. It was exhausting. I hosted my in-laws Thursday night and my parents and sister's family yesterday. I just want to sleep today away. I'm not cleaning or cooking anything today!
ReplyDeleteYes! Today has been 100% chill. I was still tired and took another nap in the afternoon. Sheesh!
DeleteAwe looks like you had a lovely Christmas! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Victoria!
DeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThose Piper Rayne covers are gorgeous!
I love how vibrant they are!
DeleteI'm glad you got to have some nice family time this week and enjoy time off work. I planned lots of baking and decided to just make one thing at a time over the next few weeks. I wish you a very Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Thank you, Anne! Hope you have a wonderful New Year as well!
DeleteMerry Christmas. And I love the new "resolution" phrasing! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteThose are my kind of resolutions. LOL
DeleteThat's so great to have pictures of you and the family! And I didn't do anything on the blog this weekend!!
ReplyDeleteThe unexpected break was nice!
DeleteI feel the same way, Tanya! Like you, despite having some time off I feel like it just flew by and I didn't have much time for reading/blogging. Sounds like you had a lovely holiday with family, though! Yay for a long nap! It feels so indulgent, right?
ReplyDeleteI do love a good nap! Hope you have an easy week at work this week, Rachel!
DeleteI'm glad you had a nice holiday, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela!
DeleteI can relate. I had hoped to have some free time last week, but - haha. I'm glad you had a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThe best laid plans, right? :)
DeleteMerry Christmas! Work has shut down due to COVID again, so I lucked out and got to work from home this week. Like you, I didn't nearly accomplish everything I had hoped to, but it has been relaxing.
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry to hear that Covid cases are on the rise again but nice on working from home again. I'm still in-office but I'm wondering if that will change soon.
DeleteMerry (belated) Christmas, Tanya! Glad to hear you had a nice time. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicci! Hope you had a lovely holiday!
DeleteSometimes it seems you can be busier than ever when you get time off. I am so glad you were able to visit with family. I really need to start reading that Nora Roberts series. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThe Nora Robert's series is a good one!
DeleteYou can tell you had a wonderful christmas you look so happy! I've curious about that new series by Nora Roberts. She can make me read anythinf! Even about dragons (to whuch Im seriously allergic lol)
ReplyDeleteThanks Mar! I'm actually not a fantasy reader (at all) but I figured if anyone could make me enjoy it, it would be Nora Roberts. It's been great so far! (And the dragons don't play a huge role. LOL)
DeleteYay for naps! I highly recommend them lol
ReplyDeleteKaren @For What It's Worth
Yes! I try to nap every weekend. If I miss one I feel cheated. Ha!
DeleteSounds like you had a nice Christmas with the family. So glad to hear it and that you've been able to relax and enjoy the holidays. I'm doing the same this week and thoroughly enjoying the downtime. :)
