WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.
Just share your answers to three questions: What are you currently reading? What did you recently finish reading? What do you think you'll read next?
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
The Summer Place - Jennifer Weiner
Kiss and Don't Tell (Vancouver Agitators #1) - Meghan Quinn
Currently reading: While I'm now invested in The Summer Place, it got off to a slow start
for me. I enjoy the multiple points of view but there was a lot of background for each
character given early on and I just wanted the story to move forward instead of going
back. Moving into the second half, it definitely feels like the momentum is picking up.
Current progress: 49%
Currently listening: Diving into a Meghan Quinn novel is always a good feeling because
I know I'm in for a good time. I only started Kiss and Don't Tell this morning but I'm
already loving this group of guys. (This cover is pretty cringey - the garish colors, the pose -
so I'm glad I'm listening to the audio version and don't have to see it. Ugh.)
Current progress: 4%
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Once We Were Starlight - Mia Sheridan ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5
Crowbones (The Others #8/The World of The Others #3) - Anne Bishop ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Recently read: The synopsis of this one grabbed me from the start and I was drawn in
from the very beginning. The story unfolded in ways I didn't expect and was heartbreaking
and emotional. Loved it.
Recently listened to: Hooray for being back in the world of The Others! It was a long wait
for Crowbones and I was so ready to immerse myself in life at the Jumble, Lake Silence,
and the town of Sproing. Cameos from the Lakeside Courtyard was icing on this
delicious cake.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?
My Famous Frenemy (The Greene Family #6) - Piper Rayne
With two new books in the Greene Family series on the way, I'm ready
to dive back in and get caught up.
WHAT ARE YOU READING TODAY?
LOL, that is a pretty cringey cover! Glad the story is good, though!
ReplyDeleteAngela - Meghan Quinn is so dependable so I'm sure to love it. :)

It was a great story!
DeleteI was invited to read The Summer Place but I haven't accepted it yet. I'm a little overbooked with arcs in May. ;) I tend to have mixed feelings for Weiner's books. I'll be eager to hear what you think!
ReplyDeleteDedra - Things have definitely picked up with The Summer Place and I'm enjoying it.
DeleteI loved Kiss and Don't Tell! The next book is super fun, too. Oh! Did you see her upcoming Runaway Groomsman is read now on NG?
ReplyDeleteDeanna - Kiss and Don't Tell is so much fun. I love all these guys! I wished for The Runaway Groomsman on NG but I'm not holding out much hope. LOL
DeleteThese look great. I definitely want to read a Meghan Quinn book soon. I have been hearing some great stuff about it. I just started Simple Irresistible by Marlyn Love.
ReplyDeleteMaureen: Meghan Quinn is so dependable for swoony romance mixed with good humor. :)
DeleteYou crack me up (though, I don't disagree with your thoughts about the MQ cover). I have heard great things about the series.
ReplyDeleteSam - Well, despite the cringey cover, Kiss and Don't Tell is just as fun as I'd hoped it would be. :)
DeleteI am not a fan of that cover either. I do want to read Quinn soon. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteCarole - Meghan Quinn is so great! I hope you get a chance to try her soon.
DeleteI've been wanting to read The Summer Place. I'll be interested in your thoughts once you finish it.
ReplyDeleteWendy - The second half of The Summer Place has really picked up and I'm enjoying it!
Deleteoh yeah I feel you on that Meghan Quinn cover, lately the covers have been like that, but I will read it eventually because her writing is worth it. I hope you are loving it, and I can't wait for your review of that one. I haven't read Piper Rayne yet but I will soon, because her covers are just so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteRenee - Piper Rayne has become such a favorite! I just love her Greene family series.
DeleteSometimes a book can take a little while to find its feet so hopefully The Summer Place really does pick up a bit. I'm currently struggling through Dirty, the first in the Dive Bar series by Kylie Scott and reading an ARC of I Kissed Shara Wheeler. I'm not totally sure what I'm in the mood to read so they're slow going.
ReplyDeleteBecky - I've never picked up the Dive Bar series. Sorry to hear Dirty is a bit of a struggle. I hope it gets better!
DeleteI was on something of a thriller kick here recently, but I've got quite the variety set to go next. I'm currently reading Let's Not Do That Again by Grant Ginder, a family/political dramedy that I'm really enjoying. I've also got a Karl Lagerfeld biography that I'm itching to crack open soon!
ReplyDeleteEthan - I bet the Lagerfeld biography will be fascinating!
DeleteHere's hoping the second half keeps picking up *fingers crossed*! And Once We Were Starlight ohhhh that cover is so pretty and it's on KU yay!
ReplyDeleteJen @ Star-Crossed Book Blog
Jen - Once We Were Starlight was so, so good! Another reminder of why I love Mia Sheridan so much.
DeleteI have two books going that I really haven't been reading. A mid-grade and a cozy mystery.
ReplyDeleteI will hopefully finish in my lifetime lol
Karen @For What It's Worth
Karen - LOL Luckily you're on no timeline. :)
DeleteI'll have to check out that Mia Sheridan. I enjoy her writing. I'd like to give Piper Rayne a try too!
ReplyDeleteRachel - I adore Mia Sheridan. Her books have so much depth and are always so emotional. Piper Rayne's books are a lot lighter but so, so enjoyable.
DeleteAs someone who is taking classes for graphic design... I can tell you that the cover for Kiss and Don't Tell breaks so many rules for good graphic design! But the story sounds so great!
