It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.

All I can say about the weather in Florida this past week is that it's been like living on the sun. Friday it was 96 and yesterday it was 99. I just want to crawl into a freezer and stay there. Or throw myself across a chaise and be fanned by a hot book boyfriend. Either scenario will work.
My nephew, Shane, got married on Friday and it was an amazing ceremony and reception. The service was at their church and the reception at a hotel on the beach. With so many young people (Shane is 25 and Emily is 23), it was a lively bunch and so much fun. Here are a few pics:

The Tampa Lightning played Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals on Wednesday and lost to the Colorado Avalanche. Boo. Game 2 is happening as I write this Saturday night (during intermission, of course). Things aren't going well but there are still two periods to go. Fingers crossed they can turn things around.
Update: They did not turn things around and it only got worse. They lost 7-0. 😞 Hopefully they'll rebound in Game 3.
Must brag on The Husband for a sec. One night this week he saw a picture of a Trapper Keeper online and said "remember those?" I mentioned that I never had one; they were pricier and I always had plain notebooks. Well, the next day there was an Amazon delivery and one guess what it was. Yep, he ordered me a Trapper Keeper. After 30 years, he still surprises me and never fails to remind me what a treasure he is. 💗
This week's 80's music fix is a soft rock classic from the Little River Band, Take It Easy On Me (1981). Enjoy!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEK?
I'D LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT!
Congrats to your nephew! The wedding looked beautiful! Aww, your husband is the sweetest!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela! :)
DeleteCongratulations to the newly weds! Everyone looked amazing. It looks real pretty where the wedding was too. I don't want to make you jealous, but I wore long sleeves yesterday. Friday (the day I was stranded at the train station was HOT though). Your husband is precious! I had to fight tooth and nail for my parents to spring for the trapper keeper, though they would never get me one of those metal lunch boxes.
ReplyDeleteSam: It was a pretty venue where the reception was held. Right on the beach so great views. Long sleeves?? Uh yeah, you're totally making me jealous! lol Aw, you had a Trapper Keeper? Now I'm even more jealous! :)
DeleteThat is so sweet that he ordered you a Trapper Keeper!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer... I thought so, too. :)
DeleteThe wedding photos are beautiful. And your husband is awesome!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks Bonnie! :)
DeleteCongrats on your nephew getting hitched, I loved all of the pictures you have there. You definitely have a keeper for the hubby. I hope you enjoy that Mariana Zapata, I loved that one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Renee! I'm about halfway thru the audio of Under Locke and loving it. I'm dying for Iris and Dex to get together... or at least make a move in that direction! lol
DeleteOh that was so sweet of your husband! How adorable! Sorry about the Lightning. It hasn't gone well, but its early in the series.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam... that's true, it's still early yet. And they won last night so maybe they'll turn it around! :)
DeleteGreat wedding photos. It's nice when your husband is a keeper. We seem to be alternating between near 100 days and 80s with a north wind flipping every 5 days. I am happy to say we just started the 80s yesterday and it's heavenly today with low humidity. So yard work.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Anne - Wow, that's a big range in the temps there. Even when it's not as hot here, the humidity is still so stifling. Yuck.
DeleteHow sweet of your husband to get you a Trapper Keeper. I never had one either. My mom thought they were a waste of money. After a couple of years, I decided it was okay.
ReplyDeleteThe wedding pictures are lovely. I hope your nephew's very happy! :)
My Sunday Post
Thanks Jenni! I'll have to find a use for the Trapper Keeper. It's not like I need it, but I love that he bought it for me. :)
Deleteyeah, i know what you mean about the heat. i don't have a pool boy, but i do have mr wonderful. :-) i spend most of the time the past few days in the pool or indoors, doing some blogging and reading, but binging on walking dead while mr wonderful is working the pensacola blue wahoos baseball games. go lightning.

Sherry: I thought about going to the pool at our amenities center, but it was just too hot over the weekend. Better luck next weekend. :)
DeleteI love that song! And oh my I saw that score on Twitter last night and I was like gah!! We had a game like that back in the day when the Wings took the Cup from the Avs actually, it was like a 7-0 blow out. anyway hope the Bolts come back.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool about the TRapper Keeper. :)
Greg: Yeah, game two was positively painful to watch. Thankfully game three last night was much better. The Lightning were back at home and won 6-2. Yay!! :)
DeleteI saw Little River Band in concert many, many years ago! What a fun song to share. I love the photos of the wedding, it looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWendy - How cool that you saw LRB in concert! They had so many great songs.
DeleteCongrats to your nephew! That's adorable that your hubby got you a Trapper Keeper. I never had one of those either and vaguely remember being envious of any classmates who did, haha.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne: Yeah, I was totally jealous of the kids who had Trapper Keepers. It took 40 years but I guess I'm finally one of the cool kids. LOL
DeleteYour husband is for sure a keeper! That's so freaking cute of him! Also your nephew and his new wife look so great together! I love weddings even though I'm that sap that cries every single time lol
ReplyDeleteCarrie: Thanks! I love that he thought to be it for me. He is such a sweetheart. :)
DeleteAw! Your husband is so sweet! And what I lovely wedding. I also went to a wedding this past weekend. My younger cousin got married at a beautiful farm venue.
ReplyDeleteDeanna - Thanks, I love that he thought to buy it for me. :) Sounds like a gorgeous wedding venue!
DeleteThe wedding pics are beautiful. Congrats to the couple! A Trapper Keeper! LOL! How sweet. I had no idea you could still buy those.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alison! I didn't know they were still around either... I was surprised! lol
DeleteTrapper Keeper! I remember those. How sweet of your husband too.
ReplyDeleteKaren @For What It's Worth
Karen - It was a blast from the past! :)
DeleteI'm with you on this heat. I'm ready for it to be winter so that we hopefully have some days under 90 degrees lol. The wedding looked like it was such a fun time!
ReplyDeleteEthan - Yes! Let's just skip summer this year and move right on to winter!
DeleteWhy do you need a hot boyfriend to move the fan when you have your perfect husband Tanya? ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL So true, Sophie! I can't wait to tell him that. Haha!
DeleteYour husband is so sweet! And that wedding is beautiful. I love the photos. I hope you're having a good week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aj... I'm pretty partial to him. ;-)
DeleteThe wedding looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI had to google what a Trapper Keeper is... It's adorable that your husband got you one!
Nicci - No Trapper Keepers in England? How tragic! lol I can't believe he bought me one. :)
DeleteThe wedding looks beautiful! Glad to hear it was a fun time. What a sweet guy you have! I hope you get some cooler weather, but I think most of the country is having a heat wave right now, unfortunately. It's been hot here the last couple of days, high 90s and we won't have it lower to the 80s until mid next week. *sigh* I'm not a fan of the heat. :/
ReplyDeleteRachel - The heat is overwhelming. It's supposed to be 103 today. Crazy! I had to caution my mother not to go out for her walk today - stay indoors and go tomorrow.
