Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Feel-Good Reads

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Favorite Feel-Good Reads

This week's topic is favorite "aw" moments in books but I'm broadening that and sharing some of my favorite feel-good reads. The low-angst, low-drama books that put a smile on your face. I actually had to dig deep for some of these because apparently I prefer books that break my heart and make me suffer. LOL

Have you read any of these books?

  1. I am glad that you loved all of these here. I don't really read illustrated books, but I do want to read that Sarina Bowen though. Definitely will check that one out soon.

    1. Renee - I'm surprised at how many illustrated covers there are on my list because I tend to avoid them like the plague. I know you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but illustrated covers are an instant turn-off for me. There is rarely anything about one that makes me think the book is for me. I'll be so glad when the trend goes away.

    2. Oh yes I am like that too. I think part of it is they are everywhere and the ones I have read weren't impressive and not the type of romance I go for ya know? And plus they tend to be so popular so I know the authors aren't struggling too much for readers haha And I know that saying but I totally judge a book by its cover. Yeah I will be happy when the trend goes away too.

  2. I loved In a Holidaze and was pleasantly surprised by Well Met. Usually with books that have a lot of hype, I tend to dislike!

    1. I find the same sometimes, but both of those were surprise hits for me. Glad they were for you, too!

  3. Well you managed to come up with some that apparently didn't break your heart! :) I'm with you though, I seem to tend toward the grim and suffering as well but if they end up with a dash of hope or joy at the end, that does make me happy. :) - I agree with the earlier comments about book covers too - seeing that illustrated style makes me immediately think it's too cute and sweet for me.

    1. Same here, Terrie. I see an illustrated cover and I typically just pass on by. It's like an obvious "this book is not for you" sign. Too cute, too sweet, too light.

    1. Mareli - No, the When in Rome book isn't tied to the When in Rome movie. But the main character is obsessed with the movie Roman Holiday so there is kind of a movie connection. :)
