Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Favorite Historical Fiction
Most of the time (like, 95% of the time) I am a contemporary romance reader. But once in a while I shake things up and toss a different genre in the mix. A little paranormal, a little urban fantasy, and sometimes a little historical fiction. WW II-era historical fiction seems to be my era of choice, but there are other time periods represented here, too. So let's throw it back to the old days...
Favorite Historical Fiction
Where the Lost Wander - Amy Harmon
Mrs. Everything - Jennifer Weiner
The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah
Sarah's Key- Tatiana de Rosnay
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo - Taylor Jenkins Reid
Outlander - Diana Gabaldon
From Sand and Ash - Amy Harmon
The Girl You Left Behind - Jojo Moyes
The Things We Leave Unfinished - Rebecca Yarros
Winter Garden - Kristin Hannah
Have you read any of these books?
I don't read enough historical fiction. Thank you for this list.
ReplyDeleteWWII is a popular era for me, too, when I read historical fiction. The Nightingale is a particular favorite!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great list there, I definitely need to pick up more historical fictions. Amy Harmon is a most definitely on my list.
ReplyDeleteI really need to get on it with Outlander. I love the show but have never read the books!

You're not going to believe this, but I haven't read those 2 Harmon books.I guess I need to since they're your favorites.
ReplyDeleteWWII seems to be the most heavily represented era in historical fiction so I'm not surprised most of us read a lot of it! I've actually not read any of these, though The Nightingale is on my TBR.

ReplyDeleteI don't read as much historical fiction as I'd like to; every year I say I'll read more, but then I don't. But there are several books on your list that are on my TBR list. Maybe someday. :D
ReplyDeleteI just finished listening to The Nightingale and what a powerful book. Nice list, Tanya
ReplyDeleteYou know me, I also stick with contemporaries most of the time, but The Nightingale was such a memorable book. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteOoh I just started Evelyn Hugo! And I like a good historical fiction too...
ReplyDeleteI've read about half of these, but there are still several here that I need to get to. I just added Sarah's Key to my TBR, though.
ReplyDeleteGosh From Sand and Ash was amazing! Same with Where the Lost Wander and The Nightingale!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Things We Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros is one of my favorite books ever. It was such an emotional powerhouse!
ReplyDeleteI've read half your books and agree they're all very good. I'll have to take a look at the others.

I do love a good historical fiction. WWII-era is my favorite but it can be nice to mix it up sometimes too. I still need to read Evelyn Hugo!

Coming here to tell you I replied to your comment on my blog. I did some checking and hopefully it is back to normal now for the emails. When you have a chance, try it and let me know.
ReplyDeleteI've read and loved all of these except for the Amy Harmon, which is still on my TBR. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great list! I enjoyed the one by Taylor Jenkins Reid too.
