The Sunday Post #329 | March 26, 2023

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Hello friends! It's been a long two weeks since I last posted. The Husband was sick with Covid and, while I did manage to avoid getting it from him, I came down with a respiratory virus 2-3 days later. We were quite a pair - keeping to our own sides of the house, not touching the same surfaces, not eating together. I was out of work for the first week and then went to half-days the second week. It's been a long, slow recuperation (for both of us) and while we're not quite back to 100%, we're definitely getting there.

The fatigue has been enough to keep me away from blogging (and largely away from the computer) for the last two weeks. I've missed keeping in touch with everyone through your posts. And I want to give a very heartfelt THANK YOU to those who reached out to me to make sure I was okay. I can't tell you how touched I was that you thought of me and took the time to email or send DM's. I appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness more than I can say. ❤❤❤

Speaking of kindness, this week's feel-good story is about the kindness of a young boy and the generosity of others. When an 8-year-old boy learned that his favorite waiter at Waffle House was walking to and from work, and that the man and his family were living in a motel, he took steps to help. Kudos to the boy and family for helping where they saw a need.

This week's music fix is old old favorite - Cruel to Be Kind (1979) by Nick Lowe. Enjoy!

That song! No matter what anyone says, the late 70's was a special time for songwriting.

    1. I so agree, Greg. The late 70's had some really gifted songwriters and singers.

  14. I'm so happy to hear you're on the mend, Tanya! I was wondering about you and so I revisited your last Sunday post and read your reply to Ethan a couple of days back so I knew you were still recovering. I'm sure it was doubly hard that both you and your hubby were sick! I hope you continue to get rest and get back to 100% soon!

  15. I'm sorry you've been ill! I was worried when you didn't post last week. Sounds like maybe you avoided covid but got something else. Or maybe it just didn't show up positive? That's happened to a couple people I know, where one tests positive, the other gets sick after but never tests positive. It's so hard to know. I'm glad you're on the way to feeling better!

    1. Thanks Deanna. Yep, somehow avoided Covid even though I was with my husband almost constantly after he had been exposed, but ended up with some other random virus. And he bounced back quicker than I did. Go figure! lol

  16. I'm so happy to hear that both of you are on the mend. I had covid at the end of February and have only recently lost the fatigue. I still have a lingering cough, but I know how not fun being sick is. By some miracle, my husband managed to avoid getting sick too.

  20. I hope you are both on the mend. Tough when you are both sick but from different things. You don't just want to swap viruses and be sick another week or two.

Great song and feel good story!

    1. Thanks Karen. Yeah, being sick at the same time was rough. Thankfully, as I was getting sick, he was getting better. So we weren't both down hard at the same time.
