It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.
THE WEEK IN REVIEW
This was the week of major network issues at office. All. Week. Long. The problems seem to be centered on MS OneDrive and our IT department is working crazy hours trying to resolve the issue. It made for some frustrating and unproductive days. My fingers are crossed that it's fixed by the time I head back to the office Monday morning.
Despite all the work headaches, Tuesday was a bright spot because I received some fun book mail! I was lucky enough to win Lindsey's (Lindsey Reads) blogoversary giveaway and the book I chose arrived. Catherine Cowles has become a real favorite over the last year and I am so happy so have a physical copy of Tattered Stars for my shelf. Thank you again, Lindsey! :)
For some feel-good content this week I'm sharing this IG post. I was struck by this otherwise stoic man cuddling the rescued cat. There's no telling what horrors he has seen as a rescue worker, so to see him care for the cat and smile... it warmed my heart. ♥
This week's throwback song is Praying for Time (1990) by George Michael. Enjoy!

HOW WAS YOUR WEEK?
ReplyDeleteglad you won the books you like. Have a good week.
Thanks Harvee... a free book is always exciting. :)
DeleteUgh, computer problems are always the worst, because we really can't get anything done without them these days!
ReplyDeleteAngela - That's the truth! It made for some less-than-productive days.
DeleteI know there is some Microsoft rollout we were told to prep for. I wonder if that was related to the your work issues. Regardless, never fun. Congratulations on your book win. Always a nice treat. Look at you devouring the Titians books. I am far behind you but enjoying the series.
ReplyDeleteThat Titans series has been such a big hit for me. I finished Cannon late last night so now the wait for the next book begins. :)
Deleteoh my goodness....that random pic so so true for workplaces! Why can't everyone just do what they need to do and then it would be more fair for everyone. haha Looks like you had a good time with those Corinne Michaels. I hope work is better for you this week!
ReplyDeleteRenee - Right? Why can't everyone do their job? But there are always the slackers. Or the ones who do little and then take credit for it all. I guess there will always be those who just want to skate by doing as little as possible.
DeleteSorry your office supplies weren't working. I just hate it whenever the computers stopped working and it interferes with your work. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post
Rabbit Ears Book Blog: WORLD’S WEIRDEST BOOK BLOG!
Yuk to network issues. We depend on technology so much and it's so frustrating when it doesn't work right. I love that George Michael song, but I haven't heard it in such a long time. Thanks! And hey, I used to work with those guys in that Meme!
ReplyDeleteWendy - So true, we totally depend on technology and things come to a screeching halt when it isn't working. Thankfully I'm back in business since yesterday! I miss George Michael. He is one of my favorite artists ever (that voice) and he was gone far too young.
DeleteBummer about the work problems. That is always a stressful thing. Congrats on the bookmail winning!
ReplyDeleteSamantha - Thankfully the network issues finally resolved yesterday so it's back to business as usual. :)
DeleteSorry, that anonymous comment was me!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the networking issues. I hated dealing with those when I was still working. I hope they're resolved soon.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning Lindsey's giveaway. That's always exciting. I won a giveaway on Goodreads recently for THE GIRLS OF SUMMER. I'm excited to read it.
I hope you have a better week!
My Sunday News
Jenni - Hooray for the Goodreads win! It's always exciting to be gifted a book. :)
DeleteThat rescued cat is adorable! (The guy's pretty cute, too.) And yay for winning a free book. :D Hope things are fixed and better at your job this week.
ReplyDeleteLark - LOL I thought the same thing too about the rescuer. :)
DeleteI hope they have everything fixed for you by tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I read first Cowels's book and loved it AND I also started the Pittsburgh Titans series!
Thanks Deanna! IT finally found a fix yesterday so all is well again. :)
DeleteI am so excited that you've both both one by Cowles and started the Pittsburgh Titan series! Yay! :)
Aww that cat... :) it must be traumatized, poor thing.
ReplyDeleteGreg - I can imagine both the cat and the rescuer had been through a lot. :(
DeleteWell it's a realistic week. I hope your computer problems are fixed. Great that you got to pick a free book. I saw that rescuer with the cat too! I hope this week is more fun!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thanks Anne. Thankfully or IT dept finally found a fix for the OneDrive issues and I was back in business yesterday. But it was a long 5-6 days before that.
DeleteNetwork issues are so annoying! Hopefully this week will be a bit smoother. I love that rescuer with the cat. I have a feeling they both needed a good cuddle. Have a great week and enjoy your reading!
ReplyDeleteKatherine - So true - and they always seem to happen at the most inconvenient times. :) And I think you're right about the rescuer and the cat.
DeleteHope this week goes better for you. I did grab the new Bowen but who knows when I'll get to read it.
ReplyDeleteKaren @For What It's Worth
Karen - Hope you get to it sooner than later... it's a good one! :)
DeleteI hate when we have IT problems and you can't do your job! Usually when you are on a tight schedule of course!
ReplyDeleteSophie - Isn't that the way it always seems to work? There's never a convenient time for IT issues.
DeleteComputer issues are so frustrating! Hope it's resolved. Nice that you had a bright spot with some book mail! Book mail always makes me happy! That cat post is so heartwarming!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel. Networks finally sorted out the OneDrive issue, thank goodness. Makes for much more productive work days! :)
DeleteSorry to hear about all the IT problems at work.
ReplyDeleteBook mail is always the best kind of mail.
Thanks Hena! Book mail makes everything better. :)
DeleteYay for the book mail! I so loved Tattered Stars and can't wait to continue with the series now. Hope this week is better for work.
ReplyDeleteAlison - I hope you will love the rest of the Tattered & Torn series! I can't wait to inhale Cowles entire backlist. :)
DeleteI don't like it when there computers problems at work. Hope they get fix.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
It was definitely a challenge! Thankfully the issues are fixed now.
DeleteWe keep losing internet at home and it is driving me nuts. It is even worse when there are problems at work. Congrats on your book win! I hope that you are enjoying The New Guy as much as I did!
ReplyDeleteCarole - It's so frustrating to lose internet service. I hope the issues with it at home get sorted out! Definitely loving The New Guy!
DeleteAhhh yes! That hottie guy was all over TikTok with the cat, which has since adopted him. That guy is also on an Olympics (or something) sports team, too.
ReplyDeleteJinjer - How funny that the guy with the cat was all over TikTok. I've never used it so I'm hopelessly out of the loop. lol
DeleteYay for the book mail! Glad to hear it arrived well and thanks again for participating in the give-away :)
ReplyDeleteSorry about the network issues, hope this week is going a bit better so far!
Thanks Lindsey! The network issues were finally resolved yesterday. Thank goodness!
DeleteI hope the IT problems have been taken care of. What a headache last week must have been! Book mail always makes things a little better though. :-) I hope you enjoy your reading and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. The IT issues were finally resolved yesterday and it was a huge relief!
DeleteThank you for sharing about the rescue cat. What an uplifting post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanne, I thought it was a sweet story.
DeleteCongrats on winning Lindsey's giveaway. How fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy! It really made my day.
DeleteI need to get The New Guy! And congrats on winning the book giveaway.
ReplyDeleteLauren @ www.shootingstarsmag.net
IT problems are the worst. We're having weird issues this week and can't send outgoing emails to any gmail addresses. It's so random. Love the George Michael throwback song!
ReplyDeleteIs there anything worse than a work day with IT issues? You can't leave but you also can't seem to get anything done either so it just feels like a wasted day. Hopefully they've managed to resolve things now. Ugh, every time I see The New Guy I cringe at that cover, but I do need to catch up on reading some Sarina Bowen books and see if it's better than the cover.
