The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
In another example of "aging" being blamed for every ailment, I'm having to undergo physical therapy because apparently I have arthritis in my shoulder. When did I become old enough for "aging" to be the most common explanation? Gah!
And as you read this I will likely be sitting in a theater watching Christopher Robin. Random fact: I adore Pooh Bear and he has always been my favorite of all Disney characters (and I prefer classic Pooh over the Disney-fied cartoon Pooh). We're turning it into something of an event with five of us going to the movie together: me, The Husband, The Mom, The Younger Sister and The Niece.

WHAT I FINISHED IN THE LAST WEEK:
It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time - Kylie Scott
Funny, steamy, sexy good time.
Review coming on Thursday in conjunction with the blog tour.
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
The Raging Ones - Krista & Becca Ritchie
I'm at about the 20% mark and it's just a bit slow-going. I'm not sure if that's because of the story or because I basically didn't read for the two days I was out of town. I probably jus
PHYSICAL BOOKS:
Yes, I've already read the Kindle version, but I still love adding this beauty to my CoHo shelf.
AUDIOBOOKS:
Siege and Storm (Grisha #2) - Leigh Bardugo
I was maybe two chapters into Siege and Storm when I set it aside to read All Your Perfects and since then I haven't felt led to pick it back up. I thought maybe switching to the audio version would help so I plan on starting that in the next couple days.
How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!
I wish my sidekick wasn't so far away. I miss going on bookish road trips with her. I saw some of the pictures from the CoHo event. It looked really great. That Christopher Robin movie trailer gives me tons of feels. I hope the whole movie is as good as the trailer.
ReplyDeleteThe Christopher Robin movie was sooo good! Full of laughs, and serious moments, and I even got teary a couple times. I already want to see it again. :)
DeleteSo cool to see CoHo!! I would drive to see her too. Hope you enjoy the movie. I think it looks good. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCoHo was the only only one of my favorites that I hadn't yet met in person. Finally! :)
DeleteAwesome to see the CoHo! I make road trips to see my bestie as she is about 2 hours from me. Wish she lived closer. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteMary
That has to be hard to be a couple hours apart. At least it's not across the country, I guess! :)
DeleteWhat a fun event, I especially love that someone got engaged there!
ReplyDeleteHow did you like Pooh? I've only known the Disney version and I've heard mixed things. 😬
I'm curious to know what you think about Raging Ones.
The Christopher Robin movie was *excellent*!! I already want to see it again. It was funny and sweet and sentimental - and I even got teary a few times. There were 3 generations of us seeing it together and well all loved it.
DeleteThe Raging Ones... well, I don't hate it, but I'm definitely not loving it. I'm just kind of plodding along. I don't know enough about the characters, I don't know enough about the world. I feel like I'm kind of reading blind hoping to stumble across some more information.
The Scott book looks yummy! Ya for road trips to see authors you love! I look forward to your CoHo post!
ReplyDeleteTotally recommend the Kylie Scott book. It was a good one. And I’ll always road trip for CoHo. :)
DeleteHa! I LOVE that Pooh quote!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Funny... and true! :)
DeleteOh my gosh I need to see Christopher Robin. I'm a huge Pooh fan too (and classic Pooh, yes, is the best). Love that quote!!!
ReplyDeleteHope The Raging Ones picks up! And glad you got to see CoHo!!
You totally need to see Christopher Robin, Greg! It was sooo sweet and funny and poignant.
DeleteHaha, I love that random. I wish I could get away with wearing no pants. I hate them. You must be a massive CoHo fan to go through all that. Sorry about the arthritis, but I hope the Pooh movie lives up to your expectations. Enjoy your new books. Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
If I *had* to pick one favorite author (like anyone can really truly do that) I’d go with CoHo. And since this was the closest she’d ever come to me... I was there. The Pooh movie was so adorable. I already want to see it again. :)
DeleteIsn't CoHo the best?!? I just adore her and I can't wait to binge on AYP as well as a few others from her I've collected and haven't read yet. Sigh. I hope your shoulder gets better with the PT. I know how you're feeling about that... ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoyed Christopher Robin! And I love that "random"...that's a bit of awesome!
Happy Monday, my friend. I hope you have a great week!
AYP was a tough read. Not sure I’d call it enjoyable, but it was good.
DeleteI sure hope the PT works, too, because the alternatives are not ideal.
Christopher Robin was sooo adorable! Loved it! :)
That's so cool that you got to see Colleen Hoover!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you enjoyed Christopher Robin. Pooh and Eeyore were my childhood favorites, so I can't wait to go see it.
I adored the Christopher Robin movie, Suzanne. It was sweet and funny and even a little sad. And Eyeore played a big role. :)
DeleteI'm SO ready to see Christopher Robin - hopefully soon. I hope you loved it! Yay for seeing Colleen Hoover; I'm glad the trip was worth it.

Loooved Christopher Robin, Lauren! I hope you will, too! I already want to see it again. :)
DeleteThe Christopher Robin movie looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteI think Colleen Hoover would be an awesome author to meet so I'm glad the 6 hour drive was worth it!
I enjoyed It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time but it wasn't a favourite... I'm still trying to turn my initial thoughts into review for Thursday too!
The movie was wonderful, Nicola. Loved it. :)
DeleteAnd CoHo was totally worth the road trip. She’s such a favorite.
It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time was fun but not my fave by Scott.
AHHHH I'M SO GLAD YOU HAD FUN, TANYA! ♥ Meeting favorite authors is just a dream. I also really need to see Christopher Robin already--when will free time come back into my hands!? And I hope you like The Raging Ones more than I did. I'll be waiting for your review!
ReplyDeleteI hope physical therapy goes well too, lovely. ♥
Authors are my rock stars so getting to meet them is pretty awesome. :)
DeleteThe Raging Ones... *sigh*. Not sure when a review will be coming since I’ve put it on indefinite hold. It just wasn’t working for me. Blah.
