New Release/Review:
It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time by Kylie Scott
It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time by Kylie Scott
WHAT I FINISHED IN THE LAST WEEK:
Blind Kiss - Renee Carlino
I finished this one yesterday and I have such mixed feelings. Overall I really enjoyed it but there were also some things that bugged me. The pay-off is a looong time coming and I think that's going to be an issue for a lot of people. It's angsty, it's emotional, it's frustrating... and yet I was 100% invested. Talk about conflicted! I'm part of the blog tour and my post is scheduled for this coming Friday so I better get my thoughts in order before then!
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
Well technically I'm not currently reading this one but I plan on starting it today. Close enough. I've read a couple by Jessica before (she usually write as J.A. Redmerski) including the first book from the In the Company of Killers series (which I really need to continue). The synopsis of this one really intrigued me... it's been years since I read a dystopian novel. Fingers crossed that it's a winner.
KINDLE BOOKS:
The Birthday List - Devney Perry
I haven't read anything by Perry yet but she's an author that I'm super excited to try.
AUDIOBOOKS:
Eleanor & Park - Rainbow Rowell
Beautiful Mistake - Vi Keeland
Audible is having a 2-for-1 sale and I couldn't pass it up.
Eleanor & Park has long been one of my favorites on audio. The narrators are so perfect and really do the characters, and the story, justice. I've listened to a couple by Vi Keeland/Penelope Ward before and enjoyed them, so snagging this one by Keeland was a no-brainer.
How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!
Congrats on your new home and that rapid sale of your current place! I'm envious :-) Ours has been on the market for a few weeks with not a whisper
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's very much a seller's market in this area right now so that certainly worked to our advantage. Hope you get some interest/offers soon!
DeleteOh I want to see Christopher Robin! And congrats on the house! Looks lovely. :) Glad yours sols so fast- that's always nice to take the pressure of a bit. Good luck with your move and all the packing!
ReplyDeleteI need to read Eleanor & Park yet.
Christopher Robin is so worth seeing. And thanks - we're pretty excited. This will likely be our last move (that's the plan, anyway) so we were happy to find one that has virtually everything we wanted and in the area we wanted.
DeleteCongrats on the new house! And yay for selling yours so quickly!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer! And yes, our selling so quickly was a huge relief!
DeleteCongrats on your new house. It looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm also glad to see that you enjoyed Christopher Robin. Non one in my house wants to go see it with me, so I'm probably going to go see it by myself next weekend.
Hope you have a great week and enjoy your new reads!
Thanks Suzanne!
DeleteNo takers in your house for Christopher Robin? Aw, too bad. Good reason to go treat yourself to an outing on your own. :)
Congrats on the house!!! What did you think of Christopher Robin? My friend is an extra in the film so I really need to watch it
ReplyDeleteThanks Zoe! How cool that your friend is in the film! I thought it was adorable and would love to see it again. :)
DeleteYour new house is lovely. Congratulations! I had lived in Jax Beach and the Intracoastal West area when I was down there, but I thought most of Jax was really nice. The commercial for Christopher Robin gave me some warm fuzzies. Glad the movie was good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam! I know the area you're talking about. I have a sister that lives at Atlantic Beach. It's kind of a haul because I'm on the other side of town, almost to Orange Park.
DeleteLove the new house! Congratulations! I know how time consuming and work related that is. We moved almost 3 years ago and never want to do it again! Have a great week and enjoy the new books!
ReplyDeleteMary Sunday Roundup #31!
Thanks Mary! Yep, the whole house hunting/buying process basically takes over your life and becomes a full time job. Hopefully this will be our last move and I won't have to do this again! :)
DeleteWell Tanya I had issues with Blind Kiss too! It frustrated me so much that I did not enjoy my read BUT it will be wonderful for angst junkies ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have such conflicted feelings about Blind Kiss, Sophie. I was frustrated that it took 300+ pages for the pay-off, I yet I still was liking the characters (usually) and was so invested in their lives. And you're right - angst junkies will love it! LOL
DeleteThe new house looks gorgeous! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI'm 100% with you on paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork... We're currently in a lull as we wait for our exchange date but we know it's only the calm in the eye of the storm! The next couple of months will be sorting, packing and losing our marbles. 😆
Thanks Nicola! Oh my goodness, won't you be thrilled when the whole process is over? I'm so ready to be done with this already. And we haven't even had the delays that you've had to deal with.
DeleteChristoper Robin looks like a great movie :)
ReplyDeleteIt really was. Such a sweet, nostalgic movie.
DeleteI’m glad you liked Christopher Robin. I might be seeing that sometime this week. There are currently children in my house, and I need to keep them entertained. Good luck with the move! The house looks beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Entertaining a house of kids... yikes. A movie is kind of perfect for that - everyone has to be quiet and all you have to do it sit for 2 hours. LOL
DeleteCongrats on the new house. I love it!! I'm glad you liked Christopher Robin - I really really hope to see that one soon.

Thanks Lauren! And I hope you get to see the movie soon, too. It's a total winner.
DeleteGAH I STILL NEED TO SEE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN! I'm so glad you loved it. T_T Also good luck with moving! It's going to be really stressful, but once you've settled in, it's going to be awesome. And the house is so beautiful! ♥
ReplyDeleteAdd “See Christopher Robin” to your list of homework assignments. :)
DeleteIsn’t moving a pain? But you are so right, once we’re all done and settled in... so worth it. :)
You sold your house in ONE day??!!! That's fantastic. It took us over a year to sell our first house. So stressful!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Crazy, right? I mean, I knew it was a seller’s market but I surely had no expectation of it selling so fast. (My fear was it not selling at all and ending up with two mortgages.) I’m so thankful it worked out the way it did!

ReplyDeleteI want to see Christopher Robin. It looks adorable. Congrats on your new house. That is amazing that you sold your other house in 24 hours. Alleviates so much stress. Good luck with the move!
Christopher Robin was so sweet. I already want to see it again. :)
DeleteWe were totally not expecting the house to sell so quickly! But thank goodness it did. You're right... it took away a lot stress about the sale.
Pooh! I want to see that movie!
ReplyDeleteCongraties on the new house and the quick sale of the old! Hope you have an easy move!
Thanks Melissa! I'll be so glad to get past the move and get settled in the new house!
DeleteYour house is gorgeous!! I really want to see the Pooh movie, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Enjoy your new books! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Tracy! I'm really excited for the move.
DeleteThe Pooh movie was sooo sweet! Hope you'll get a chance to see it soon!
First of all, congrats on your new house! It's pretty! Hope you have some wonderful times there.
ReplyDeleteChristopher Robin looks like such a good movie. I can't wait to watch it.
Hope you have a great week!
Thanks Aleen! I'm pretty excited for the move.
DeleteI hope you get to see Christopher Robin soon. It is so sweet!
Congrats that looks gorgeous :) Also now I want to watch the film, when I saw the trailer I thought it looked a bit creepy...
ReplyDeleteThanks Olivia! Oh my goodness, the movie wasn't creepy at all. LOL It was sweet and funny and even a bit poignant. Definitely worth seeing. :)
DeleteOne day to sell the house sounds really fast to me.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, good luck with the move! ☺
Thanks Irena. We were very lucky to see the house so quickly!
