The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
I am so over this heat. Summer is my least favorite season as it is (I'm a native Floridian who doesn't like the heat, avoids the sun like the plague and never goes to the beach - oh, the irony) and this summer is feeling especially brutal. I'm so ready for fall - or what passes for fall in Florida. Which means it's just slightly less hot. LOL What's the weather like where you are?
I am so not an animal person but how cute is this dog?! That face. I might have followed him for three blocks, too. :)

WHAT I FINISHED IN THE LAST WEEK:
Not a thing. I started reading Everything Under the Sun last week and I'm still reading it. It's a long one! 650+ pages!
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
When I started reading this one last week I'd check my percentage ever so often and feel like I wasn't getting anywhere. Why am I only at 5%? Why am I only at 11%? I finally checked GoodReads and realized that this book is 657 pages long. Whoa, baby! I feel like I've hit my groove with it, though, and now at 47% I'm so into it. This post-apocalyptic world Redmerski has created is brutal and frightening - and doesn't feel so very far-fetched. Not only do I love the main characters but I never know what's going to happen next and that adds an intensity that makes for a great reading experience.
Nothing. Not a single thing.
Not a physical book.
Not a Kindle book.
Not an audio book.
Who am I???
How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!
Yay for things moving along with your house sale. Ugh I'm ready for fall. I love sweater weather and pumpkin stuff. That dog is cute!! Ugh 657 is a long book!! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteFall can't come soon enough! 657 pages is such a long book! But thankfully I'm totally enjoying it. :)
DeleteGood luck with all the house stuff and your big book. I really try to avoid books over 500 pages 😆 I hate summer and winter. What can I say, I am pretty moderate about everything.
ReplyDeleteI actually love big, fat books... more to enjoy... but because this was an eARC I had no idea it was so long. Yikes. I'm totally a winter girl... but when I say that I mean a FLORIDA winter girl. LOL

ReplyDeleteEeeek the countdown is on! I hope the sales wrap up soon!
ReplyDeleteI would drag you to the midwest with me but we're suffering from mid 80s with like 95% humidity. Bring on fall!
You and me both, girl! I am so over the whole buying/selling process and just want to be done. 3-4 weeks to go...
DeleteYeah, your weather doesn't sound all that great either - but thanks for the offer. LOL
I didn't know you lived in FL. Or most likely I forgot lol What part? I'm in Ocala.
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
We’re practically neighbors, lady! I’m just up the road in Jacksonville. :)
DeleteYay before you know it this will all be behind you and you'll be settling into your new home. Very exciting :)
ReplyDeleteI’m definitely looking forward to that day, Kim! In a month’s time it’ll be a done deal. :)
DeleteI hope the house sale will go through quickly, and that you get a really good price for your old house! Moving is not fun, but once you're installed in the new house, I'm sure you'll be happy!
ReplyDeleteIt's a little cooler here these days, which is so nice. A couple of weeks ago, I felt like I was melting.
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookworms
Thanks Lexxie - you’re right, moving is *not* fun but I keep telling myself that it will be so worth it by this time next month when we’re settled in the new house. :)
DeleteWell the weather here is hot too! Unusually so ... The book you are erading has been on my radar for some time now so I can't wait to read your thoughts ;-) Oh and crossing my fingers for the new house. Happy Sunday Tanya!
ReplyDeleteAs of now I can definitely recommend Everything Under the Sun! I love these characters, I’m loving the journey, and Redmerski has made this scary world come to life. All I want to do is read! :)
DeleteWow things are moving fast for you on the move!
ReplyDeleteWe're still waiting for an exchange date... I'm thinking it'll be October before we move. Considering this madness began late November last year, I'm so over it and still have the upheaval of the actual move to deal with! lol
Good luck with the packing!
Oh my goodness, I think I would be pulling my hair out if this buy/sale had stretched out to almost a year. Gah! We start packing in earnest this week!
DeleteThat dog is so cute. I would have totally been late to work to follow that dog across town.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Jennifer! :)
DeleteGood luck with the selling/moving. I’m done with summer, too. Luckily, it’s been cooling down a little here. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks AJ - I’ll be so glad when it’s all done and we’re settled in the new house.
DeleteI am pretty ready for the fall! It's my favorite season. :) I've seen that dog "meme/photo" and it's so cute!!!

I wish we actually had “fall weather” but I’d settle for any temps in the 80’s at this point. LOL
Delete"Feeling like 100+" is why I could never live in Florida lol. Too hot for me, I'd melt. :) So I feel your pain in that sense. And I hope your moving/ packing all goes smoothly! Such a hectic time when all that comes to a head, but hopefully it's not too bad and then you can relax when it's all over!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome tweet! I wonder if the dog enjoys the people watching as much as the passersby probably enjoy seeing him/her... :)
LOL Believe me, I get it. People say you get used to it but after almost 50 years, I can assure you... you don’t. Ha!
DeleteI'm so ready for fall as well. Our summer has just been so rainy and gross that I just want to go away, lol. Good luck with selling your house and getting all of that packing done!
ReplyDeleteMy husband keep saying “Let’s go ahead and pack up your books” and every time I’m like, “But what if I want to read one of them???!!!!” LOL
DeleteI'd rather the heat than the cold myself! I'd prob follow that adorable dog for three blocks too, haha. Glad to hear the house is coming along :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG, we are so opposite, Kristen. Give me the cold - I can always grab a sweater or a blanket. But the heat... ugh, can’t deal. I get so grouchy. LOL
DeleteHey, just because you're a Floridian doesn't mean you have to like the heat. I HATE Chicago's weather (freezing and crazy snow in the winter, super hot in the summer), and I've lived here all my life!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
I always swear that I was born in the wrong place. I below in some moderately temperate place... where it never gets about 75. LOL
DeleteWe have been dealing with lots of ninety degree days and smoke here in Oregon. Luckily, we are supposed to get a shift at the end of the week and be in the seventies. Awesome that your house sale is moving along.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, temps in the 70's sounds like heaven right now! Color me jealous, Heidi! :)
DeleteI loathe summer. I don't like sweating. Its just gross. I can't imagine living in FL. I don't like Ohio!! Holy moly over 600 pages! Thats a big read! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYeah, Florida summers are no fun. Blah.
DeleteThe good thing about the super long book? I'm totally invested and it never feels boring!
Oh congrats on your new house! Moving in and redecorating and refurnishing is so exciting! Packing is horrible, though!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, that dog is absolutely adorbs!
Thanks Zeee! Yeah, the packing is horrible so I'm trying to concentrate on the fun stuff. LOL
DeleteLol, i get what you mean about the heat . I don't know though PA has really humid summers and then really cold winters. I don't know why I love here!
ReplyDeleteAs much as this FL heat makes me crazy, I don't know if I could handle your PA winters. That would be a serious shock to my system! :)
Delete"Who am I???" Hahaha! I haven't bought a new book in ages -- determined to read what I already have first! I've even been accepting/requesting less so I can catch up. I'm almost there...
ReplyDeleteLindsi @ Do You Dog-ear?
Well, it's not like I *need* new books... but when has that ever stopped me? LOL
DeleteAs for ARC's I've basically stopped requesting. I think I have 4 or 5 more already pending and then I'm taking a looong break from ARCs.
