WWW Wednesday #54 | July 10, 2019

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

It still feels weird to be writing July. How has half the year passed already? It's like *poof* and it's gone!

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Say You Still Love Me - K.A. Tucker
Good Boy (WAGs #1) - Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
I'm about 40% into Say You Still Love Me and it's great to be reading another by K.A. Tucker. I just love her story telling. This one is told in dual timelines and I'm so interested to find out what happened in the past and what's going to happened to the characters in the present.

Apparently I'm on something of a Sarina Bowen/Elle Kennedy binge, because after listening to both Him and Us recently I decided that wasn't enough and now I've started a re-listen of Good Boy. Honestly, I'm not a fan of the female narration in this one. Teddy Hamilton is fantastic (he also co-narrated Him and Us) but Tanya Eby does not work for me. I find her voice grating and her delivery is overdone. So basically I just live for Blake's chapters. :)

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Raze was a nice surprise. Having never read anything by Parrish I didn't know what to expect. But what I got was a sweet and emotional story that tackled some tough topics (including addition). Felix was the most precious character and Dane, under that tough exterior, was just as vulnerable. Loved them together so much! I definitely want to go back and read the two previous books in the series.

I've been excited for Dean's story ever since I listened to Getting Schooled back in April. And I didn't have to wait long because the audio version of Getting Played released a couple weeks ago even though the Kindle version doesn't come out until October. This was a perfect example of Emma Chase at her best. A low-drama, low-angst contemporary romance.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

There's no telling what I'll be in the mood for when I finish Say You Still Love Me, but I have a couple possibilities ready and waiting. Hope and Other Punchlines is high on the list since I already know I enjoy Buxbaum's writing and this one sounds fantastic. I'm excited but also a little hesitant for The Last Post. Carlino is one of my favorite authors but the early reviews for The Last Post haven't been exactly glowing. And if I'm in the mood for something that I'm guessing will be slightly heavier, there's The Reckless Oath We Made.

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. It's a bummer when one of the narrators doesn't click with you. Hope it doesn't ruin the story. Loved Hope and Other Punchlines! Hope you do, too. I was wondering about getting the Audible Escape/romance package. I should. I listen to audio books all the time, and I've been eyeing Emma Chase's series.

    1. So glad to hear Hope and Other Punchlines was a hit for you! That has me even more excited to read it. I've loved almost all of Emma Chase's books that I've listened to on audio. Her Royally series, in particular, is a favorite.

    1. Oh my gosh, The Simple Wild was so, so good! The romance was wonderful and the storyline with Calla's father was so poignant. I can't wait to see what you think of both of them!

    1. LOL Don't you have not even being able to remember what you've read and what you haven't. Or if you already own a book or not? As my old boss used to say, "Gettin' old ain't for sissies." LOL

  7. I've still only read one book from KA Tucker and I don't know why. I've heard such good things and when Iv'e tackled a few more books of my shelf may just treat myself to this latest one. And I need to read Good Boy how are you rereading it? I hope you aren't disappointed by Carlino's latest release!

    1. Over the years she's become an auto-buy author for me. Through new adult titles and romantic suspense and contemporary romance... I've loved them all. I listened to Good Boy on audio. I read the physical copy when it first came out and since then I've listened to the audio version 3-4 times. I just adore Blake Riley. :)
