The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:
- What a week! I was so
busyoverwhelmed at the office, with a to-do list that only grew longer instead of shorter, I internally started referring to it as Hell Week. But I survived it (it was touch and go there for a while LOL) and now I just have this coming week to get through and then things should settle back down into a more normal routine. *would do a happy dance but I don't have the energy* - How's everyone doing with their Christmas shopping? Mine is coming right along, I'm more than half done, and I haven't set foot in a single store. Online shopping for the win! :)
- Hey Twilight fans, have you heard the rumors of a new Twilight movie?! Apparently Lionsgate (the studio behind the original movies) is talking about a prequel movie about Edward Cullen. I might be up for that!
- Last night was my company holiday party and I forced myself to go. It's an introvert's worst nightmare: forced socialization. But I got through it and it wasn't a bad time. I feel like I deserve a
gold starpile of cashweek off for surviving it. LOL - And now for this week's 80's music fix: I decided to stick with the holiday/Christmas theme all month because why not? Here's an oldie from Daryl Hall & John Oates.

Blog Tour/Review: Coming Home for Christmas by RaeAnne Thayne
WHAT I COMPLETED IN THE LAST WEEK:
Us (Him #2) - Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
The Christmas Pact - Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward
I finished my audio re-read of Us and it was just as perfect as ever. Narrators Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan just embody Jamie and Wes for me and I never get tired of revisiting their story.
The Christmas Pact was a super cute (and super short) fake dating story that was just so much fun. It didn't hurt that superstar narrators Andi Arndt and Sebastion York provided the voice work. Main characters Riley and Kennedy were so likable and I enjoyed every minute of this one.
WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
Christmas in Silver Springs - Brenda Novak
I started Christmas in Silver Springs on Wednesday and I haven't had much time for reading so I'm only about 50 pages in. Even so, I'm enjoying it and can't wait to see where the story goes.
KINDLE BOOKS:
AUDIO BOOKS:
The Christmas Pact - Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward
How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!
Yay for surviving both "Hell Week" and the Christmas party, lol! I'm doing pretty well on my holiday shopping and agree that online is the only way to go. I had to go to one store yesterday and thought I was going to lose my mind before I got out of the madness. Hope next week is a good one for you!
ReplyDeleteI tried to avoid actually stepping foot in a store. The crowds were awful! Plus, people acting like they'd kill to buy "X" and if they didn't get it there would never be another. Ugh. This week off has been heavenly!
DeleteTruth! Parties just make me more anxious. I would rather stay home by myself, then have to pretend to be having fun with a whole lot of people. Wow! Another Twilight movie. I actually liked the films (though I didn't read the book). I will never forget the last one, because after the "epic battle", the guy in front of me stood up, threw his popcorn, and yelled "Are you kidding me", and then proceeded to leave the theatre. It was hilarious
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! But since I'm the assistant to the CEO I feel like I *have* to attend and that my absence would be noticed. Ugh. I put in the necessary time and the run home and hibernate. LOL
DeleteOMG, what a reaction that guy had at the Breaking Dawn movie! LOL
I love the days when I can just stay home. With my daughter finishing up her school term, we can do that!! Online shopping is a total win. Yes, it's changing the business world but technology will continue to do that. I'm over holiday shopping and decorating. I haven't done any and can just enjoy others' decorating. I do tend to make gifts sometimes. My daughter enjoys it so I will be doing some this week. I hope this week is not so busy and lacks parties. Enjoy your reads!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I wish I could take more time off in December to enjoy the season (and minimize the stress) but with it being such a busy time at the office it's just not possible. This week off has been wonderful, though! :)
DeleteI hope you'll have a more relaxing week Tanya! And my Christmas shopping is all done!
ReplyDeleteIt's been simply heavenly having this week off. I am so not ready to head back to work. LOL
DeleteOh my gosh, I love the graphic Tanya! Mine would probably have the eat wedge a little larger because that's my stress response when I'm anxious. Holiday parties can be fun, but most of the time I find that I attach myself to another person and follow them everywhere like a lost puppy or park next to the food table. We have our holiday party the first week of January, and it is termed a Winter Gala with a Roaring 20's theme.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping things are a little calmer this week!
I'm usually the same, Michelle. But I've been trying to control the stress/emotional eating. Not an easy thing to do during the holidays! I had to laugh at your party strategy because I'm very much the same. I found my coworker/friend when we got there and stuck to her like glue. LOL
DeleteI hope this week goes fast for you! I'm just about done with my Christmas shopping, I think. I did most of it online, too - I walked into one store, saw how long the checkout line was, and walked right back out!
ReplyDeleteHa! Yep, that sounds like the appropriate response to me. It's like, "Nope, not worth it!" :)
DeleteI hate Christmas parties. I'm a huge introvert but also with my hearing issues, larger groups of people all talking at the same time are just a NIGHTMARE!
ReplyDeleteHopefully things calm down soon for you!
Ugh, parties are a double whammy for you. I avoid as many as I can but when my company party I feel like I really have to put in an appearance. I just make it as brief as I can. :)
DeleteCongrats on making it through the week - and the holiday party! I'm hoping this week will go by quick, but it's pretty slow at work, so I don't know. LOL

Hope the week wasn't too slow for you! :)
DeleteUgh I'm sorry you had such a rough week at work! I completely understand how you feel with the Christmas party. I have one this week and I'm thankful I have Dante as an excuse to cut out super early. I'm just not a fan of forced socialization and merriment. The only thing I hate about this season.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Oh wow, you have the perfect built-in excuse now. "Sorry I can't stay... baby at home!" A quick way to end forced socialization. LOL
DeleteYay for getting an office party over with and it not being to horrible! I only do online shopping this time of year. I get hives just thinking about setting foot in the mall! The Christmas Pact sounds delightful. I'm going to check that out.
ReplyDeleteOMG, the mall at Christmastime. Ack! Now that is to be avoided at all costs. I did finally have to go in a store or two but they were just quick in and out trips... no real shopping, thank goodness.
DeleteThe Christmas Pact was adorable and so much fun. Totally recommend it. :)
Holiday parties are the worst! I mean, even if they're NOT the worst or they actually turn out to be fun, they are definitely an introverts' nightmare. "Forced socialization"- love that term haha.
ReplyDeleteI love online shopping! :)
Exactly! Even if the party wasn't too bad... that still doesn't mean I had fun and enjoyed it. LOL
DeleteYay for making through a hellish week!
ReplyDeleteI’m not sure how I feel about a Twilight prequel. I can’t see Robert Pattison willing to do it really(unless they throw stupid amounts of money at him).
Wishing you a great reading week
Love your "What I Do At Parties!" I can soooo relate!! Hope this is a better week for you!! A possible Edward movie?!? I'm in.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? It'd be cool if Robert Pattinson could reclaim the role. He's still looking good! :)
DeleteAww I feel you, Tanya. Holiday parties aren't my thing too and it sucks when you're forced to go and socialize *coughjusthereforthefoodthouhcough* Online shopping's what I did last year and it was more convenient. But for this year, I feel like I'll be going to stores since we're having a really bad weather these days and shipping "might" get delayed. Gearing myself up to wait in long lines and going in circles in the stores ~fun~
ReplyDeleteWe ran into a couple shipping issues but thankfully all but one item made it in time. (That one was a gift for me so I still have something to look forward to. LOL) Hope you managed to get all you shopping done in time without too much stress!
DeleteSorry work has been so crazy! I hadn't heard about the possible new Twilight movie---I could see that being interesting. I was always surprised that there was never a follow-up book to the series. I was sure we'd see Reneesme (or however you spell it) in the future at some point.
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Same here! It's been over a decade since the last book (and 7 years since the last movie) so I'm wondering how much interest is still out there. I guess they think there's enough to do a spin-off!
DeleteI am NOT ready for the holidays. And I also had to go to two social things. I survived!!
ReplyDeleteThank goodness the holiday parties are behind us! All that's left is New Years Eve but I always stay home that night and hibernate. :)
DeleteI had no idea that Hall & Oats did a holiday song... I HAVE to tell my husband. He loves them. (Which is funny to me for some reason, but I like them too.)
ReplyDeleteThey really had some awesome songs back in the day. I loved Say It Isn't So and several others.
DeleteI still have some presents to buy and I am dreading going out to the stores! It seems like we have some slow and really busy days at work with people trying to get things done before the end of the year. I skipped my work's Christmas lunch today so I would give you that gold star! Wasn't The Christmas Pact fun?! I hope you are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for skipping the work lunch. I wish I had that option. #jealous
DeleteThe Christmas Pact was so much fun! So adorable. :)
I heard about the new Twilight movie and I'm super interested. I had so much fun with those movies but then somehow (I don't even know how) I never watched the final movie. Kids, life, ack, I don't know. But I need to get back to that someday. And you deserve a huge pile of new books for getting through your Christmas party and hell week, hugs ♥!

Never watched the final movie? Ack! LOL I feel like it's on TV a LOT so I watch a few minutes whenever I come across it. :)
DeleteI'm glad to hear you survived hell week! AND forced socialisation!
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of a new twilight movie and I'm not sure what to make if it... Although R-Patz is still looking pretty young so he could probably pull it off!
Hope this week has been a better one!
Being off all this week has recharged me in the best way! A much needed break!
