Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Books with a Summer Vibe
I'm taking this prompt quite literally and going with books that don't just have a summer vibe, but have summer in the title. Then I had to make it even trickier (because why not) and use only books I've read. Challenge accepted. *tips my non-existent hat*
So here are my picks for books with summer in the title... which automatically gives them a summer vibe. :)
Vanishing Summer - Lora Richardson
Summer Sisters - Judy Blume
The Summerhouse - Jude Deveraux
The Last Summer of You and Me - Ann Brashares
Summer Island - Kristin Hannah
Firefly Summer - Maeve Binchy
The Second Summer of the Sisterhood - Ann Brashares
Big Summer - Jennifer Weiner
The Summer I Dared - Barbara Delinsky
The Summer I Found You - Jolene Perry
Have you read any of these books?
I've seen Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants a few time, but yours was the first time I have seen the follow up book.
ReplyDeleteI think a lot of us gravitated toward that series for this week's prompt. :)
DeleteSummer Sisters was such a good story, too!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
I agree, Lydia!
DeleteOh wow, you really did make it challenging. Well done! So far I've only read Big Summer from your list but I know I have the Judy Blume book and the Kristin Hannah one sitting on my shelf calling to me.
ReplyDeleteI honestly remember nothing about the Kristin Hannah book. LOL It was one of her very early ones. But the Judy Blume book made a big impression. I loved that one.
DeleteI've read the Sisterhood books, I enjoyed them!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2020/06/02/top-ten-tuesday-266/
It's been so many years since I read them but they were a lot of fun. :)
DeleteGreat list! I haven't heard of the majority of these, but they definitely look summery. =D
ReplyDeleteI love summery reads so this was an easy one. :)
DeleteYou did a great job with this post! I like the way you narrowed it down even further.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thanks, this was a fun topic this week. :)
DeleteI read most of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books growing up. I also just ordered Big Summer, so I'm excited about that one.

I hope you'll love Big Summer, Lauren! I really enjoyed it.
DeleteOoh, love your take on this week's prompt! I honestly can't remember books I've read with the word summer in the title (I mean, except for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants books and that's only thanks to your mention of it here)! Haha 😂
ReplyDeleteIt's been sooo many years since I read the Traveling Pants books! But they were fun at the time.
DeleteI've not read one book from this list other than Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants! I love how summery all these covers look. I'll have to check out some of these titles.
ReplyDeleteSummery covers just seem to promise a good time. :)
DeleteI haven't read any of these, although I have enjoyed Jude Devereaux but only read her historical's. And Barbara Delinsky does great summer feels vibes in her stories.
ReplyDeleteI've only read one historical from Deveraux (A Knight in Shining Armor) but I remember really enjoying it. I think it had a time travel aspect.
DeleteWhy am I not surprised to see a Lora Richardson on your lits Tanya??? LOL
ReplyDeleteI sing her praises every chance I get, Sophie! :)
DeleteWas The Summer I Found You good? It's on my library wishlist. Sounds good to me
ReplyDeleteI *loved* The Summer I Found You, Sam! I tried another by Jolene Perry and didn't care for it at all, but this one... loved it. The male MC's background (wounded warrior) even made me strongarm my husband into reading it. :)
DeleteWay to up the challenge! No, I haven't actually read any of them. But I do have a few on my TBR. I want to read Big Summer especially - did you like it?
ReplyDeleteBig Summer was so good, Berls! I highly recommend it.
DeleteNice! I don't know how many books I've read with "summer" in the title, but I'm guessing not too many since I tend to read more mystery/thriller books than romance and contemporary novels. Not surprisingly, I haven't read any of your picks :)
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Yes, I suppose "summer" titles don't pop up too often in mystery/thrillers. :)
DeleteI had a fun time with Big Summer! Have you read Summer of '69?
ReplyDeleteMe too, Ethan! It took some turns I didn't expect. I haven't read Summer of '69. I read one by Hilderbrand years ago and just didn't gel with her writing.
DeleteWow, you did a great job finding all of those!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela :)
DeleteChallenge achieved! When I was making my list for TTT, I discovered that I’ve only read 2 books that have “summer” in the title. I’m impressed that you’ve read so many summer books.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I actually had even more to choose from but stopped at 10. LOL
DeleteI like what you did here. You get an A+ for your trickery. I've only read 3 of these: 2 Brashares and 1 Hannah. They are great choices for this post!
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since I read that one by Hannah that I don't even remember it. She's come a long way!
DeleteI haven't read any of these books, but the collage looks so pretty! I'll have to check them out. :)
ReplyDeletePretty covers are nice even if you haven't read the books. :)
DeleteThe Summerhouse and The Last Summer are nice. I like covers with beaches and quaint little beach town scenes for some reason lol even if I don't necessarily read those kinds of books? These all look so summery though!
ReplyDeleteI get it. I can appreciate a good book cover even if I don't want to read the book. :)
DeleteThese books definitely give off the summer vibes! ☀️ I also have Summer Sisters by Judy Blume on my list.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT list.
Summer Sisters was such a great read!
DeleteWOW! I am soooo impressed! I definitely couldn't have come up with 10 books with summer in the title that I've read.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised I had so many!
DeleteI'm amazed you managed to think of so many books with summer in the title, I don't think I could have managed. And there's a Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants book in there! Loved those books when I was younger... although in reality they definitely would not have fit everyone and looked flattering.
ReplyDeleteI actually reread the series a few years back and had a very different take on them. All the girls annoyed me to no end. LOL
DeleteImpressive! I'd struggle to think of, erm, any books with summer in their title right now, lol.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of your picks but the Lora Richardson series is on my amazon wishlist as you speak to highly of it... At some point, I'll even get around to reading one! (Or all.) :)
I hope you do, Nicci. I never get tired of singing Richardson's praises. :)
