WWW Wednesday #90 | June 3, 2020

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

I returned to the office this week and it's been... interesting. :) June 1st was the voluntary return date; everyone is officially expected back on June 15. Since I work directly for the Board of Directors, I felt like I needed to be back and kind of help "set the tone." I'd say we're only at about 20% of our normal workforce so it's safe to say that most seem to be waiting until June 15 to return. There have been a lot of changes over the past two and a half months, and there are certainly some things I miss about working from home, but it's also good to be back and reclaiming a bit of the old normal routine.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Currently reading: I so wanted to keep reading this morning and finish That Forever Girl! But, duty called and I had to get ready and head to the office. *flails at the unfairness of it all* Rogan's back story hurt my heart and I'm am so on-board with this second-chance romance. He and Harper totally belong together.
Current progress: page 302/351

Currently listening: Still on my Emma Chase roll, apparently. I finished up the Tangled series on audio and decided to dive right in to Emma's new release, Dirty Charmer. I liked Tommy as a secondary character in the Royally series so it's fun to see him get his own story. The narrator for Tommy, Rupert Channing, is new to me and I really like his voice work.
Current progress: 58%

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Listened to: Sure there were times that I rolled my eyes over Drew's cockiness and the times where he was just such a... guy. LOL But it was still fun to experience another taste of he and Kate and all the gang.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

I really have no idea what I'm in the mood for next. Maybe I'll stick with Quinn's Getting Lucky series and continue on with the third book. Maybe I'll switch back to Devney Perry's Jamison Valley series. Or maybe I'll go a completely different route and pick up Chen's time travel novel. Who knows?

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. I am curious to see if they make any changes in our physical workspace before we return. I have heard mid July and August for a return, but I am ok where I am. Nick had really good things to say about the Quinn books. I will have to take a look at those.

    1. I really was fine working from home. And if things shift again (with a second wave of infections) and I have to go back to WFH I will be perfectly fine with it. I'm really enjoying the Meghan Quinn series. The characters are so darn likable!

    1. So noted! :) Strangely, I'm not as excited for Reid's book as I was for Rogan's. But I'm sure I'll end up loving it. :)

  3. LOL I love seeing Emma Chase's heroes especially in their POV because yeah they are such men but I get a kick out of it. She doesn't really sugar coat these heroes. Its pretty refreshing. My reading is such mood reading which is important right now so read whatever you are in the mood for.

Hope you adjust to getting back to normal life again and it goes smooth and safe for ya.

    1. Exactly, Renee. Chase doesn't write her male characters like they're women with a male name. LOL They're definitely guy's guys, you know? :) It makes for a fun read.

  5. You definitely need to read Here and Now and Then! One of my favorites! I am currently reading A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and The Lightest Object in the Universe. Both are good so far!

    1. I remember you raving about it, Shannon! I want to read his other one, too (A Beginning at the End), but I don't particularly want to read about a pandemic right now. LOL
