The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news: a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books,
and share what's coming up on your blog in the week ahead.
It's rained pretty much every day this week with the thunderstorms rolling in each afternoon/evening. I love a good thunderstorm so no complaints here. (Well, one complaint... because it's still brutally hot.)
Otherwise it's been a decidedly uneventful week. I had my Tuesday morning meeting with my boss (FaceTime), worked during the day, and watched the hockey playoff's in the evening. I don't think I left the house all week other than for our early-morning walks.
Other than hockey, my entertainment has been shopping on Amazon. I've been hitting it pretty hard lately so I should probably give it a rest. :) In the past week it's been some workout wear, some baskets for the bathroom (storage), a book, some new bands for my Apple watch... yeah, I need to find some cheaper entertainment. LOL
I'm taking part in the August of Books Giveaway so if you haven't entered yet you can do that HERE. You could win a book of your choice and who wouldn't want that? :)
Since I just finished listening to Andrew Ridgeley's story of he, George and the band, this week's 80's music fix can only be Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (1984) by Wham!.
Online shopping is a blessing and a curse. Going to Amazon you suffer that Target effect. You go there for one thing, but end up with lots more.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Sam! It's just way too easy to sit in a comfy chair, iPad in hand, and shop at home. And before you know it... oops! :)
DeleteI hear you Tanya.. Online Shopping is definitely great, but totally addicting. LOL! I have been doing it way to much since the beginning of Corona.
ReplyDeleteOMG.. you already finished reading 'Virgin River'? You're the best! I can't wait to hear your thoughts.
Have a great week and happy reading.
I'm looking forward to discussing the book a little more on the Facebook group once everyone is finished. :)
DeleteWell being locked inside the house had me clicking on Amazon too :-)))) I wonder what Andrew had to say about George! Have a great (and less expensive) week Tanya!
ReplyDeleteHopefully I can lay off the Amazon orders this week. :)
DeleteI do love online shopping but I do like the experience of shopping at stores. I go back and forth LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you are enjoying American Prince. :)
I'm about halfway through American Prince and I can't even imagine what's going to happen in the second half!
DeleteWake Me up! Classic! How was the book? I would think it would be interesting!
ReplyDeleteThe book was interesting but I was kind of hoping for more.
DeleteLove a little Wham, I used to have a pink day-glo Wake Me Up t-shirt :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
I remember those shirts well. :)
DeleteI was planning to try to get to Virgin River; we will see. I only go out with the dog or to do yard work. We have a north wind so I'm hoping for a break for a couple days to fit in some more yard work. At least we have some great books to read.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart Here is my Sunday Post
I hope you enjoy Virgin River if you decide to give it a try, Anne!
DeleteI have been doing way too much online shopping during this pandemic. It's like, I have nothing better to do so I might as well spend money! I think I'm going to get a head start on my Christmas shopping, though!
ReplyDeleteRight? Online shopping has become what I do for fun. Gah! But Christmas shopping hasn't even crossed my mind. lol
DeleteI love online shopping but the worst thing I do is forgetting things I have on preorder with Amazon!
ReplyDeleteI've done that once or twice before, Heather. LOL
DeleteThat meme feels like it sums up life right now for sure. I love Wham! I hope the book was good. I think I downloaded the audiobook.I need to go check that... LOL Happy week!
ReplyDeleteThe Wham book was interesting but nothing really ground breaking.
DeleteI love thunderstorms too. they can be strangely relaxing. And yay for hockey! Also, I love your pick this week. Wake Me Up is such a fun, upbeat song! I love the clothes from that era so much- I miss 'em. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here, Greg! I definitely miss the 80's fashions. They were so fun.
DeleteIt has rained here pretty much everyday too. Normally I'm not a fan of storms, but I have definitely come to appreciate them more now that I don't usually have to go out in them. They're a nice backdrop while I'm reading. Oh goodness, that Wham! song really takes me back. I always loved them and especially George Michael's solo albums.
ReplyDeleteI was such a Wham! fan back in the early 80's. And I got to see George Michael in concert around '91 one or so, when he'd gone solo. Good memories.
DeleteI love thunderstorms when they cool down the heat. If they just force me to shut the windows and trap the heat inside, I get irritated. I’ve been spending a lot of time with hockey too. I missed it. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Your team (Avalanche, right?) are doing well! They're leading their series if I remember right. Tampa has won 2-1 in their series but the Blues are struggling!
DeleteWham! yay! can't help but snap the fingers ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat had some great music. :)
DeleteOnline shopping is fatal and is one of the ways I am keeping myself entertained as well and it’s not good. Thankfully I’ve managed to talk myself out of hitting check out a couple of times but I’ve definitely been buying more than I should. And storms, we’ve had so many here lately, I’ve been leaving the house despite them, though. It does mean I\ve ended up returning home resembling a drowned rat but oh well, at least it cooled things down.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for showing some restraint! I wish I could say the same. LOL
DeleteI do a lot of online Amazon and Target shopping. I use the Red Card (debit) which gives you free shipping, supposedly 2-day but that's been messed up by covid. Still, it usually comes in a good amount of time. Plus, 5% off on top of that. Yeah, I get caught up in shopping binges, too, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love thunderstorms! We could really use the rain out here with all the fires. It's insane. Global warming is a thing, unfortunately.
Hope you enjoyed Virgin River. I look forward to your thoughts. :)
I would be so, so dangerous with a Red Card. lol Best I stay far, far away. :) I enjoyed Virgin River well enough but I don't really see myself continuing the series any time soon.
DeleteWe just had one good day of rain here this past week. I'd really love some more and some cooler weather! Our heat index has been hitting the 110 mark. I'm so ready for fall. I'm curious how you felt about the books you just finished!
ReplyDeleteUgh, that heat index is miserable. That's one of the reasons I've been doing indoor workouts instead of going for walks. It's just too hot. Ugh.
DeleteI have just been passing on the workouts and walks altogether lately. But, I am still cutting the yard and tending the gardens daily, so that's a lot of sweating in itself. A lot of our property is woods and we have a pond, but there's still about 5 acres worth that has to be cut. Definitely too hot!!
DeleteThat's a lot of property! I'd say you're definitely still getting in your activity.
DeleteHAH, I love the Totally Random.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of addicted to online shopping at the moment too. I need to stop. LOL Granted, it's mostly for other people so there's that. ;)

I don't even have the excuse that it's for other people. It's all for me, me, me. LOL
Deletewham....that sure brought back memories. :-)
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
They had such great music. :)
DeleteWake Me Up Before You Go Go is my all-time favorite son! (Right next to Never Gonna Give You Up and Tainted Love.) I think I need to pick that book up soon!
ReplyDeleteI too love thunderstorms, but it's been consistently hot and sunny here.
I hope you have a great week!
I love that it's your favorite song! And the other two are pretty awesome, too. Is Never Gonna Give You Up the Rick Astley one? He had such a great voice. And Tainted Love is such a classic.
DeleteI went through a bad shopping phase early on lol The past few months I've barely spent anything. I need clothes but I'm petite and it's hard for me to shop so most of my money is spent on seasonal produce right now. I'm going a little crazy with all the fresh fruit/veggies, cheeses and all that. Also gaining weight soooo... haha
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Well, I'm trying to lose weight so probably best that I don't start spending loads on food. lol Especially cheese... I could go for broke on All The Cheese.
DeleteA little bit of Wham never hurts... Takes me back to my mum playing it as a kid. :)
ReplyDeleteWe've had thunderstorms too this week and our temperatures finally dropped to the 20's (70's). It's been lovely.
Sometimes we all just need a little retail therapy! Enjoy your new things.
Your mom played Wham?? Well, I just instantly felt old. LOL
DeleteThank goodness the temps finally dropped. I know you were having quite a heatwave.
I was about to say "hey I wish it would thunderstorm here, that's nice!" but then you said it's still hot so that's not fun! I hate when it's stormy but still hot >.< Also, yes! Thank god hockey is back on. There's something to watch on tv now lol Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wish I could have the thunderstorms and ditch the heat! :) Hooray for hockey! And thankfully both my teams are still hanging in there.
DeleteHa! I SO feel you on the Amazon shopping. My husband recently commented on how I seem to have a package coming "every damn day" 😂. To be fair, some of those are his orders. But mostly me. And I need to stop.soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a good week!
Good to know I'm not alone on the Amazon thing. And I definitely haven't slowed down any this week. I've had two deliveries since Sunday. lol
