WWW Wednesdays is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.
Just share your answers to three questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you'll read next?
All eyes here are on Hurricane Ian. It's bearing down on Florida and is expected
to make landfall around Tampa. I'm in the northeast corner of Florida so hopefully
our impact will not be severe. Even so, my company will be closed on Thursday and
Friday, and I am working from home today. As a lifelong Floridian, I'm accustomed to hurricane preparation so we're prepared for heavy winds and rain and
possible flooding. Fingers are crossed that we ride this one out with no issues.
WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?
One Last Gift - Emily Stone
A Little Too Late - Sarina Bowen
Currently reading: One Last Gift is starting off slow for me. And I find myself not picking
it up often. Not a good sign. I'm hopeful it will pick up soon and I'll feel more invested.
Current progress: 25%
Currently listening: A Little Too Late is classic Sarina Bowen fare, and I mean that in
the best way. :) I love a second chance romance and I'm enjoying Ava and Reed making
peace with the past as they rediscover each other.
Current progress: 70%
WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Help Me Remember by Corinne Michaels - ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Recently read: No surprise here, but Carrie Soto is Back was stellar. It was one of my
most anticipated releases of the year and it did not disappoint. Carrie was a complicated
character and I loved her journey. My second 5-star read of the year.
Recently listened to: Help Me Remember has all of Corinne Michaels' trademark romance
and emotion but with an added element of suspense. Spencer was completely swoony and I
loved the way this story unfolded.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?
I never know what I'm going to read next, but both Give Me Love and Before I Let Go
are strong possibilities.
WHAT ARE YOU READING TODAY?
LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS! :)
Thoughts and prayers are with you during the hurricane! Hopefully you have enough books to keep you company.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Elza Reads
Thank you, Mareli! Thankfully I have loads of books and I can read by lantern if necessary. :)
DeleteStay Safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia! So far so good.
DeleteI'll be thinking of you and your family as I watch the coverage of the storm. I hope you all are able to stay safe! I will be reading One Last Gift this week or next, I can't wait for it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. Hope you will enjoy One Last Gift!
DeleteStay safe! I'm reading On The Rooftop by Margaret Wilkerson Sexton. I read Carrie Soto this month too but it wasn't a five star read for me. I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as you did.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jennifer! Hope you're enjoying On the Rooftop. :)
DeleteI'll be praying the hurricane doesn't cause you any problems! Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deanna. The rain has started but so far so good.
DeletePraying for all of you in Florida and the other areas hit!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alison!!
DeleteHow did y'all make out? I have family in FL that are dealing with severe flooding, and an uncle that's trying to make it home but can't because of road closures.
DeleteAlison - We fared fine. Only lost power for a short time and no damage. I hope your family down south is okay!!
DeleteBe safe! I hope you're not hit too hard...
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg. We're hanging in there.
DeleteI hope you don't get too much Hurricane effects, and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteLauren @ www.shootingstarsmag.net
Thanks Lauren! We're hunkered down and ready to ride it out.
DeleteHoping you and yours are safe. I remember my first JVille hurricane. It made me move from Jax Beach back over the Intracoastal. Do you have a generator? I feel like your husband would. I am hoping Stone's book picks up for you.
ReplyDeleteSam - Yeah, living on the east side of the intracoastal during a hurricane is no joke. My sister and my two (adult) nephews live over there. Two still have power but one does not. Today should be the worst of it so we'll see how it goes.
DeleteI hope you come through the hurricane without damage, Tanya! Nice that you get to work from home at least. Those Corinne Michaels covers are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel. I'm always so thankful to be able to work from home when needed.
DeleteKeeping my fingers crossed for you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angela - apparently it worked! :)
DeleteIt seems to have hit way south of you so I hope you didn't get too much damage. those rain bands and tornados can still do lots of damage even if you aren't in the path. I do
ReplyDeletenot miss those storms lol
Karen @For What It's Worth
Karen - Yeah, I bet you don't miss hurricane season!
DeleteThe hurricane looming must be so scared. I only lived to see a huge storm where even roofs came from the houses, but nothing more like that. I'd be so scared if I'd see a map like that!
ReplyDeleteHopefully you and your loved ones are okay <3
Esther - It is a little scary but the plus side is that with hurricanes you have plenty of advanced warning to prepare or evacuate.
DeleteI hope you and your loved ones are safe in the face of the hurricane!
ReplyDeleteThank you Blake!
DeleteI hope that you are safe Tanya and that you've been spared the worst of Ian!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sophie! We were definitely spared the worst.
