The Sunday Post #71

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • Back from a mini-getaway to our favorite resort. We were only gone Wednesday thru Friday but it was so perfect and just the downtime I needed. A few days of reading by the pool (or sometimes reading in the pool)... my idea of heaven.

  • My leopard print boots arrived! It has to be wrong to love a pair of shoes so much. LOL They're going to have some competition for my affections because I just ordered these pink crushed velvet mules. 💕

  • Today is my monthly breakfast with my mom and sisters (which I should be getting ready for instead of sitting here writing this post). One of my cousins is joining us this time and I'm so excited to see her.

  • Say You Won't Let Go by James Arthur - I don't know who this guy is but I can't get enough of this song lately.

Only one post this past week. I didn't check my blog or anyone else's while I was on my little getaway. And yesterday, when I planned to do a post and some catching up... I decided to extend my little break and I loved it. :)

Top Ten Tuesday: YA Hidden Gems

WHAT I READ IN THE LAST WEEK:
Mercury Striking (Scorpius Syndrome #1) - Rebecca Zanetti
I DNF'd this one at about 40%. I just wasn't feeling it.
Rowdy (AUDIO Re-Read) - Jay Crownover

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING
Breathe (Sea Breeze #1) - Abbi Glines
Bossman (AUDIO) - Vi Keeland

THE AUGUST BOOKWORM BOX:

My Bookworm Box included not only Untouched Perfection by Kristin Mayer (sounds good!) but an awesome water bottle that I know I'll use.

PHYSICAL BOOKS:
I've been hearing such great things about Ghosted by J.M. Darhower so I decided it was a must-have. And I'm loving this updated cover of TJR's After I Do!

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
You know I want to hear about it! :)

    1. LOL I love reading in the pool! It's was to see I wasn't the only one doing it, either. The times when I would just walk the length of the pool I would see several others poised against the edge with books. :)

  14. Yay for mailbox goodies. I couldn't see some of your images, could be on my end? :(

  15. So funny you DNF Mercury Striking. LOTSA people didn’y including me. Almost. JUST because I read some reviews saying it gets better and of my loyalty to Zanetti I stuck with it and it DID get better.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your resort mini-getaway  reading by the pool is indeed heaven! Hope you also enjoyed your breakfast with your mom and sisters

    1. I *really* tried with Mercury Striking. Even got to the 40% mark. But I finally realized that I just wasn't invested and wasn't even curious about what would happen. Ha.

  16. So happy you had a fantastic break!! That reading by the pool (or in it, haha) sounds divine. Gorgeous pic there, too.

Yay for the leopard print boots! Those velvet mules look lovely, too :)

    1. That resort is definitely my happy place. We try to go once or twice a year just to relax. Poolside reading is divine! :)

  17. I liked Mercury Rising enough to make it through it, but not enough to continue the series, especially after I heard she took the series in a direction I don't like. I'm not into "questionable consent."
    Have a great week!

    1. Sorry to hear that it took a turn you weren't happy with, but at least you found out before reading even more of the series. Life is too short for books we aren't loving! :)

  18. Oh my, I bet that little vacation was wonderful. And those shoes are lovely.

And your pictures for The Bookworm Box and your new Physical Book aren't working for me! :( Maybe it's just me!
