The Sunday Post #102

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • We've had company staying with us this past week so things were quiet on the blog with only my March Best In Books post going up. And I didn't have a lot of time for blog visiting, either. Hopefully this week will be much different (company leaves today *insert happy dance here*).

  • Epic Reads shared their list of greatest duos in YA and I agreed with so many of them! Several made me all nostalgic and wanting to do some rereading. Will & Jem (Clockwork Angel), Ryan & Gabby (Top Ten), Kenji & Juliette (Shatter Me)... have you read any from the list?

  • Laura Vitale posted this recipe for zucchini fries this week and I practically drooled on my desk. Zucchini fries are one of my favorite things ever (and a bit nostalgic since my husband and I had them on our first date) so I am totally making these.

Best In Books | March 2018

WHAT I READ IN THE LAST WEEK:
Alex, Approximately - Jenn Bennett
Totally enjoyed this bundle of cuteness and will definitely read more from Jenn Bennett.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING
Bittersweet (True North #1) - Sarina Bowen
It's always a good time for Sarina Bowen.

PHYSICAL BOOKS:

The Butterfly Project - Emma Scott
Forever Right Now - Emma Scott
So excited for both of these!

eARCs FOR REVIEW:
I saw someone mention this one (can't remember who... might have been a Booktuber?) and decided I had to have it. Somehow it was still available for request even though it was one day after release day. Score! :)

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Tanya, you are supposed to be sad when company leaves XD
Yeah! So glad you finally know the awesome of Alex, Approximately. I actually think Starry Eyes was even better. I hope you enjoy Bittersweet. I loved that book so much. I actually adored all three books (have to get the 4th).

    1. Sad when company leaves? Is that how it’s supposed to work? Bahahaha! :)

Totally enjoyed Alex, Approximately. And if Starry Eyes is even better... I can’t wait!

I’m barely into Bittersweet but I’m already soft on Griffin. :)

  3. I don't think I've ever had zucchini fries, but they do look good! Since they are low carb, I may have to give them a try.

Have a great week Tanya :)

  4. Lol, I'm like that with visitors. It's like I'm happy to see them but FREE TIME!
Have a good week Tanya, and fingers crossed for plenty of reading time. :)

    1. Yes! It’s like my whole life is on hold when we have company. No free time! No reading! No just kicking back and doing nothing! I predict this week will be loads better. :)

  6. We rarely have guests that stay with us except for my cousins, which is totally fine since they're family. My brother's had some friends over before though, and it was really uncomfortable for me so I didn't leave my room the whole day. xD Hopefully you'll get back into the swing of things, Tanya! ;)

    1. Thanks Aimee. To be honest, I’m just not a fan of overnight guests. LOL My family never stayed with others when we traveled or had company stay with us. I cherish my own space and my privacy. But my husband’s family is just the opposite. Thankfully it doesn’t happen often but it’s still always a shock to my system! And I know what you mean about being uncomfortable - which is crazy when you’re in your own home, right?! Thankfully this week is back to normal. :)

  7. I relate to that random so hard. My TBR list is never-ending. It’s hilarious that you’re happy about your company leaving. I’m secretly excited when company leaves my house, too. I hope you have a great week!

    1. Yes! I actually had a moment recently when it occurred to me that I will probably not live long enough to read all the books I want to read. Instant depression. LOL

OMG, overnight guests just are NOT my thing. I crave the comfort of my own home and I love my privacy. I feel under siege when guests stay overnight. LOL

    1. I always marvel at people who are like, “I want to get my TBR down to zero.” I always think, who ARE you?! LOL Because there will ALWAYS be more books that I want to read. :)

  9. Company is great and it's always nice when they leave too lol. Hosting can be stressful as well as fun! that was a fun post about YA couples over at Epic- and I even knew some! Nice to see ryan and Gabby on the list! And Arsinoe/ Jules too from Kendare Blake's series.

    Zucchini fries- yum!!!

    1. I definitely find hosting company stressful. I feel like my house in under siege. LOL And when it includes kids... 10X worse. I am so not a kid person. (And yes there were two kids with this latest company visit. Ack.)

I loved seeing Ryan and Gabby make that couple list at Epic Reads! :)

  11. My comment is not book-related, since I haven't read any of the books you mentioned. All I want to say is I need those zucchini fries! And the ranch dressing right next to them, begging for a dip. I'm really hungry now.

    Happy reading!

  14. Well I'm happy you're happy your company is leaving? Ha! I get it. Even if I enjoy the people staying, it's just always nice to have my house back to myself. ;) I'll have to check out the YA couples. I'm looking forward to listening to Alex, Approximately - especially since you enjoyed it - and I'm going to have to binge on some Sarina Bowen soon. I adore her and I own ALL her books but have yet to read them all. So binge coming soon. :) I hope you enjoy Pepper Winters' new book. I'm curious about it. Oh! And I love the random...probably true of every bookworm. :D Hope your week is off to a great start!

    1. I love your comments, Brandee, You always have something meaningful to add. :)

As bad as it sounds, I’m just not a big fan of overnight guests. As a kid, my family never stayed with others or had people stay with us. It just wasn’t something we did so it’s a bit foreign to me. My husband’s family is the opposite, though, and it’s like it’s just assumed if family comes to visit they’ll be staying with you. It’s always something of a shock to my system. LOL

I think you will love Sarina Bowen, Brandee! I’ve seriously loved everything I’ve read by her. I’m so excited that I still have plenty more to read from her. Binge away! :)
