WWW Wednesday #91 | June 10, 2020

WWW Wednesdays is a meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words.
Just answer three questions and share what you're reading.

I'm actually about to crawl back into bed (feeling poorly this morning), but I figured I could manage a quick WWW post. How's your week going so far? What are you reading today?

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Currently reading: I've barely cracked the cover on this one but I'm excited to be back in Prescott, Montana and getting Nick's story.
Current progress: 8%

Currently listening: I've been antsy and waiting for Declan and Sydney's story ever since I read Come Back For Me in February. Admittedly, right now I kind of want to throttle them both for keeping secrets, but I'm still ready to see how it all plays out.
Current progress: 32%

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Read: I didn't think I could be as invested in Rogan and Harper as I'd been in Griffin and Ren in the first book (despite the fact that I feel this way with every series I read), but I was so on board with their story. Rogan's back story was heart breaking and his behavior in the aftermath, while atrocious, was also understandable. I loved seeing he and Ren find their way back to each other.

Listened to: Tommy was a great side character in Chase's Royally series so I was happy to get his story in Dirty Charmer. His easy going nature was the perfect foil for Abby's straitlaced (Tommy would say uptight) personality. Watching their acquaintances-with-benefits relationship morph into something real was so much fun.

Read: I was so happy to finally dive into this oldie on my bookshelf! I finished it last night and was so satisfied with how things played out. It took Ryden a long time to come around and realize some truths but I enjoyed his journey.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

I'll probably jump back into the Knightly brothers series after taking a short break.

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  2. Ren & Harper's story is my favorite in this series. The story was so romantic!! I haven't read an Emma Chase book in so long. I need to give Dirty Charmer a try!

    1. Rogan and Harper were so sweet together. I loved how they had been in each other's lives since they were kids. I think you would like Dirty Charmer, Nick!

  6. I didn't know Dirty Charmer was a spinoff of the Royally series! It's one of my faves! I'll definitely have to check this one out, especially since it's about the bodyguards. Wasn't the last book about the sister and one of the bodyguards? In the Royally series? And then there was one about the queen? It's been a while... haha!

    1. Yep, you're remembering right. :) The third book in the Royally series was about Ellie (the sister of Olivia from the first book) and Logan, their bodyguard. So in the spin-off series, Logan and Tommy have started their own personal security business. I just loved Tommy. :)

    1. I really want to read that one by Elton John. We had tickets to see him in concert this month. :( It's been rescheduled for next year so I guess we'll see how things are then.

  8. Well work has switched to having only half of us there at a time, so I spend the latter half of my week working from home again. This naturally gives me more time to read. I'm starting to listen to American Dirt this week, and reading The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones.

  10. I hope you're feeling better today! The guy on the cover of That Secret Crush is a cutie so that looks like a great choice to dive into next. :) I just started reading Take a Hint, Dani Brown and am really enjoying it so far.

    1. Thanks Suzanne. I'm back to full speed today. It was actually the covers of the Meghan Quinn series that initially drew me to them. :) I read the synopses and them clicked right over to Amazon and ordered the first three books in paperback. Solid choice! :)

  11. You're making me think I need to go back and read What You Left Behind. I have that one somewhere on my kindle. I just worried it would be too sad, I think. And all the rest of these, well, I'm glad you enjoyed them because I did, too!

    1. I didn't think it was overly sad at all. I mean, the situation was sad, of course, but the author didn't veer into melodrama at all.
