WWW Wednesday #97 | July 22, 2020

It's been a week of shifting gears back to working from home. And a busy week at that. So much so that I skipped Top Ten Tuesday yesterday and almost skipped today's post. But, even though it's already almost noon, I figured why not

In other fun news, here in Florida there have now been almost 380,000 confirmed cases of COVID, and deaths due to the virus are at a record high (118 in one day). But hey, let's host the Republican National Convention and send all the kids back to school. Good times! *continues to beat head against wall*

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING?

Currently reading: I'm almost done with Soulless and Bear and Thia's story is about to do me in. I thought the previous 3-4 books were messed up, but this one is just... what's a term for even more messed up? LOL I love how Frazier doesn't shy away from taking it there but I can also see how this wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. (And it's definitely something I have to be in the mood for.) But I'm totally into the story and I'm nearing the end so I can't even imagine what's to come in the big climax. Gah!
Current progress: 90%

WHAT DID YOU RECENTLY FINISH READING?
Listened to: I just finished Boyfriend Material this morning and I. Loved. It. This is one of those books that just seemed to have everything going for it and it was checking all my boxes. From the dry humor, the clever banter, Luc and Oliver, the stellar side characters, the story arc, the romance, the issues it tackled... it all combined to make for one stellar read.

WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'LL READ NEXT?

After four books in a  row from T.M. Frazier, I think it's probably time to take a small break from the depraved underbelly of humanity. LOL I think I'll pick up the ARC of Want You To Want Me next and enjoy some low-drama romance instead. :)

What are you currently reading?
I wanna know! :)

  1. I totally get why you would need a break from that series! I had to take ones, too. Want You to Want Me is the perfect break, too. I loved that book.

  2. I think this all is crazy honestly, and I think most parents are resorting to homeschooling, because there is such division on what to do and they don't want to put a hold on their children having an education just because the media and politicians don't know what they are doing lol which at this point, I am convinced I will homeschool my kids when I am blessed to have them.

You have me sold on buying Boyfriend Material. I am convinced I need that book in my life!! :)

    1. It seems a lot of my friends are choosing to go with online/distance learning this year. Probably for the best at this point.

I hope you'll love Boyfriend Material if/when you pick it up!

    2. I think many are choosing to go that route, for multiple of reasons. Its not a bad route to go with, some of the smartest people I know were homeschooled. You just have to make sure they get in good balance of social interaction or they can struggle as they become adults.

Already purchased it on my kindle, so I will be reading it soon...putting all the blame on you though LOL my wallet is not forgiving of you :)

  3. Yeah, our numbers here in California aren't good either. I just checked and we're over 400,000 cases! They aren't opening schools back up, though, and things like indoor dining are canceled. You can eat outdoors, though. Glad to hear you're working from home again.

I want to read Want You to Want Me soon! I love Lorelei's sports romances.

    1. Thank goodness the school aren't reopening there. That's something at least. Here they are moving forward with school and you can still eat in restaurants.

I started Want You to Want Me this morning and I already love Nolan. :)

  4. I'm reading Riley Sager's latest haunted house story. It has been really fun to escape into this fiction, especially as Texas continues to struggle with COVID-19.

    1. Yep, the numbers keep growing. And our stupid governor say that people "really shouldn't focus on the numbers." Oh really? Grrr!

  9. thanks for sharing. living in florida too, i am frustrated and angry at how the whole covid thing has been handled...and across the entire us too. i do my very best to avoid the news, though mr wonderful keeps me informed of the most important stuff, and usually don't talk about it online.

  11. The news coming out of Florida is pretty scary. I heard on the radio today that they've cancelled the convention though so that's one bit of good news!
