This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Book Covers with a Summer Vibe
Summer may have only started officially a couple weeks ago, but summer starts early here in Florida. The heat, the humidity, the thunderstorms... those have been around since April (and will be here through at least October).
I didn't have to dig too deep for some summery covers.
Apparently it's a popular vibe for contemporary romance. :)
The Summer Place by Jennifer Weiner
Between Hello & Goodbye by Emma Scott
Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Summer I Found You by Jolene Perry
Vanishing Summer by Lora Richardson
The Bookstore on the Beach by Brenda Novak
The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
A Greene Family Vacation by Piper Rayne
The Impossibility of Us by Katy Upperman
Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner
Have you read any of these books?
Love the cover for The Unhoneymooners! I need to check and see if I have a copy on my shelf and buy one if I don't. I bought an add-on from BOTM of All the Ugly and Wonderful Things only to realize when it came that I already have a copy! Ack! Bought it twice. I need to reign in my book hoarding ways apparently, or at least check my dang shelf first!
ReplyDeleteRachel - OMG I have done that so many times! Glad to know it's not just me. LOL
DeleteI've read Malibu Rising (so-so, I thought) and Unhoneymooners (enjoyed!) and I've heard lots of good things about Summer Place. Your ideas of summer in Florida are very much like my ideas of summer here along the Gulf Coast of Texas.
ReplyDeleteDeb: I really enjoyed Malibu Rising (TJR is a favorite). And The Unhoneymooners was such a good time.
DeleteThey all feel very summer-y for sure!

Thanks Lydia :)
DeleteMalibu Rising was one of my favorites last year! Loved The Unhoneymooners, too!
ReplyDeleteSame here, Angela! I loved Malibu Rising last year.
DeleteThese look great! I want to read The Unhoneymooners and Malibu Rising.
ReplyDeleteSummer seems to have been around a long time for you then! Here in the UK we don't get a lot of 'summer' weather but we are currently in a heatwave...
Have a great week!

Emily - The Unhoneymooners was a lot of fun. So many laugh out loud moments. :) And Malibu Rising was a big hit for me. Taylor Jenkins Reid is a favorite.
DeleteOh, LFO. I loved that song. I really liked Big Summer - I need to read her newest ones!
ReplyDeleteLauren @ www.shootingstarsmag.net
Lauren - I didn't love The Summer Place quite as much as Big Summer and That Summer, but it was still a good read.
DeleteWhat great picks you have here! I am really loving the Emma Scott cover, its just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteRenee - I think so too! Such a gorgeous cover.
DeleteOmg, LFO! What a throwback 😂 I loved that song so much when I was in HS (and I really loved LFO too, lol)! These are great summery covers too. I also had The Summer Place on my list today! Great picks :)
ReplyDeleteDini - I figured some would get a laugh from the LFO song. :)
DeleteYou found some great summery covers! I love all the colors. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Lark! :)
DeleteBookstore on the Beach sounds great! Perfect title and cover.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bonnie. That was the first book I read by Novak and I really enjoyed it.
DeleteI used TJR's cover, too! I really need to read that Emma Scott book because I adore that cover. It's one I'd want on my shelves.
ReplyDeleteDeanna: I'd be interested to see what you think of the Emma Scott book!
DeleteContemporary romance does seem to like those summer vibes :) The Unhoneymooners made my list too! And Malibu Rising is on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteLindsey: I hope you enjoy Malibu Rising when you get to it!
DeleteIt feels so summery! I like A Greene Family Vacation cover the best.
ReplyDeleteWendy: That whole series by Piper Rayne has such pretty covers.
DeleteThe Summer Place and Malibu might be my favorites here. The Unhoneymooners is great though also.
ReplyDeleteGreg: Malibu Rising has the perfect summer cover. And the UK cover is gorgeous, too. Hard to pick a favorite.
DeleteSo many pretty covers here!

Thanks Jo! :)
DeleteBetween Hello and Goodbye looks so ethereal. They did a great job getting that perfect sunset moment of light ^.^
ReplyDeleteJennifer - Isn't that photo gorgeous? The lighting and everything... I love it.
DeleteI love that you went with LFO. OMG! Those lyrics. It's incredible the type of stuff that turns into summer hits. The Impossibility of Us was a great (and different) choice. Those Weiner covers are very summer, but so similar.
ReplyDeleteSam - It's cracking me up how many are commenting on the LFO song. Those were some mighty fine lyrics. LOL Weiner's last three covers have been super similar.
DeleteThese covers all make me want to go to the beach!
ReplyDeletePam @ Read! Bake! Create!

Pam - Me too! Wish I was there now. :)
DeleteI've read both of the Jennifer Weiner books, The Unhoneymooners and The Bookstore on the Beach, all great summer reads. Nice list, lots of summer vibes here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Carla. I always enjoy Jennifer Weiner. The Bookstore on the Beach was my first from Novak and I really liked it.
DeleteSo pretty. I love those Weiner covers. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here, Suzanne. They have such a vibe. :)
DeleteGreat picks! I didn't even think about The Unhoneymooners! Also love that LFO song.
ReplyDeleteLisa Loves Literature
Lisa - The comments on that LFO song are cracking me up. It's funny how many people remember it/like it. :)
DeleteI love how colourful the summer book covers are! Wonderful list, they're so bright and gorgeous!
ReplyDelete- Sara and Olivia
Thanks so much, Sara! :) The summery colors are so fun to look at.
DeleteWe have lots of the heat and humidity but very little rain. I wish you could send a little of that this way. Love the covers!
ReplyDeleteAlison - Wish I could share that rain we had. Now of course we're back to no rain, just heat. Ugh.
DeleteWe keep getting thunderstorms with no rain. Sounds weird, right? Lots of thunder and cloud to ground lightning strikes. But, no rain is falling from the clouds.
DeleteThanks for commenting on my post. I love the covers you chose. I love the colors and the feelings they evoke. I can't believe I forgot about Malibu Rising. Oh well. I can't think of or share them all now, can I? LOL.
ReplyDeleteJenni - Malibu Rising was such a good one. I remember seeing the UK cover and it was very pretty, but now as summery, IMO.
DeleteMalibu Rising and The Unhoneymooners are so summer-y! Loved both of those. And Weiner has so many summer-y books. Great choices this week!
ReplyDeleteDedra - I think Weiner has released summery beach reads the last three years straight. She's on a roll!
DeleteOh yeah, very nice! Definitely summery!
ReplyDeleteI also included Malibu Rising but the UK edition! :)
Nicci - Both covers (US and UK) for Malibu Rising are so pretty and summery!
