Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Sports Romances

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Sports Romances

This week is a freebie so I'm going to share my top ten favorite sport romances.
I've never played sports (I'm the least sporty, least outdoorsy person ever).
And I'm not particularly a big sports fan, in general. But I do make one big
exception: I love hockey. Specifically, Tampa Bay Lightning hockey, but I
enjoy watching most hockey games.

So why do I love sports romances so much? Lots of reasons. I love the team
mentality and the way it's almost always about "we" instead of "I". I love the strong bonds
formed between the teammates over countless hours of practice, games, and travel.
I love the discipline and the dedication. And of course there's the banter and the bromances. 😍

So enjoy some Jock Jams and then check out my favorite sports romances.

  3. These look good. I haven't ever read a sport's romance. I will have to find time to fit a couple in!

    Have a great week!

  9. Jock Jams. Haha! Love it!

I also love this list. I've read every one of these except Baden. Guess I need to add that one to my list!

    1. Deanna - Gotta have the Jock Jams! LOL Baden was the first I'd ever read by Bennett and I loved it. The synopsis totally appealed to me and when she described it as more emotional that her typical style, that was more bonus points for it (even though I didn't know what her typical style was. Ha!).

  10. Sports is the one theme I actually never read. I think Bear Town by Fredrik Backman is about the only one I can think of... So Sport Romances I won't know at all. Maybe I can find something that will grab my attention from your list.

    Clever topic!!

    Thanks for visiting us earlier.

  15. I really want Cora Carmack to revive the Rusk series. I know there were supposed to be more originally, and then she took that turn into her fantasy series. I would be up for more of those. I am a black sheep when it comes to Zapata. I was underwhelmed and thought the book I read could use editing. It was too long. I bought a few thinking I would love her like everyone else, and they will be unread forever.

    1. Sam - I know! I miss the Rusk U series. :( I know Cora's had health issues the last few years, and like you said, then turned to fantasy. I wonder if she'll ever go back to that series? I can agree that Zapata's books are long (sometimes overly long) but I've found that they work for me most of the time.

  18. I need to give Chloe Liese another chance!

    1. Amber - TBH, I'm not a huge fan of Liese (ducks from angry fans). I definitely gave her a shot after reading four books, but I just don't jibe with her. The only one of the four that I truly enjoyed was Always Only You, the one I mentioned here.

  19. Fun list! I haven't read any of these. I would like to recommend The Yes Dare by Kathleen Y'Barbo and Comfort Zone by Kimberly Fish to the list. They were both delightful reads.

  22. I love a good sports romance! I can't say that I was ever sporty either. I do love Sarina Bowen and Sawyer Bennett (but I haven't read her books for a while). I will have to check out some of these other authors.

    1. Carole - I'd never read Sawyer Bennett before Baden and the Pittsburgh Titans series. I saw her mention that it was more emotional than her previous books and that was enough to hook me. lol

  24. Everywhere I look is The Wall of Winnipeg and Me haha! I am so looking forward to reading this one. I know that Arielle reads a ton of hockey books....I'm thinking The Ivy Years Series from Sarina Bowen or maybe it's another one of her series, but it's definitely on my tbr. :)

    1. Hi Jen! I've only read one from The Ivy Years series. As much as I love Sarina Bowen, I tend to steer clear of college/NA romances. I'm so far removed from that age group that it's just hard to relate to the characters and where they're at in their lives. But I do love her Brooklyn hockey series!! The Wall of Winnipeg and Me was the first I ever read from Zapata and I think it's still my favorite. Loved that one so much!

      Delete
    2. I'll make for sure that her Brooklyn hockey series is on my tbr, thank you! I'm in my 40s so I keep wondering if I won't feel that connection to NA or even YA, but nope I'm still beyond obsessed LOL!

      Delete
    3. That's awesome, though! Lots more options are open to you since you still all the different age groups. Many of my blogger friends still read YA and love it. I'm in my early 50's and I was still reading some YA up until 4-5 years ago. Since then it's dwindled to virtually nothing. And over the last 2 years or so I've noticed the same with NA.

Btw, I can't believe you're in you're 40's because in your profile pic you could pass for 25! You look awesome, lady! :)

    4. It'll be interesting to see what happens with my reading preferences. I turned 42 this April, so time will tell what I like eeps. Awww thank you! We're outside so much but I wear a hat everywhere because the sun is so intense up here. That and sunscreen every two hours, we go through soooooo many bottles a year for the four of us and I'm always chasing my kids on the beach all summer long telling them it's sunscreen time again haha!
