Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This Week's Top Ten Tuesday Topic:
Favorite Romances with a College Setting
This week's prompt is a school-related freebie. This would be perfect (and easy)
if I read YA (young adult), but I don't. It's also been a long while since I read
any NA (new adult) but I'm still going with it. New adult was huge 8-10 years
ago and romances with a college setting seemed to be everywhere. (And maybe
they still are and I just don't pay attention.) Here are some of my favorites.
Side note: Apparently couples almost kissing was the cover of choice
a decade ago. 😘
FAVORITE ROMANCES
WITH A COLLEGE SETTING
Wait For You* - Jennifer L. Armentrout
I Want It That Way - Ann Aguirre
All Lined Up - Cora Carmack
The Year We Fell Down - Sarina Bowen
The Deal - Elle Kennedy
The Hook Up - Kristen Callihan
Losing It - Cora Carmack
Easy* - Tammara Webber
Undecided - Julianna Keyes
One Tiny Lie - K.A. Tucker
*Still an all-time favorite❤
Have you read any of these books?
Oh, I loved a lot of these! Easy is one of my all-time favs. One Tiny Lie, The Deal, and Undecided were also favorites! Great list, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! I always wished Easy had got more attention than it did. It was such an amazing story.
DeleteRomance hits you hard in college. I can see why that is a great idea for a book.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb. It's definitely a time of highs and lows.
DeleteI've only read The Deal from this list but I absolutely loved that book and I enjoyed the whole series as well. I think I definitely missed a lot of the NA era because this is the year that I've read the most NA, if I'm not mistaken! 😂 I really enjoyed Hunter's Texting series which is NA!
ReplyDeleteDini - I have yet to finish the Off Campus series. I really need to get on that!
DeleteI haven't read that much NA, but I did read and love The Deal (as well as the rest of that series). One Tiny Lie looks great too!
ReplyDeleteLindsey - One Tiny Lie was so good. I loved the whole Ten Tiny Breaths series.
Deleteooh I need this list as I have been itching for more new adult romances to indulge in. Some of these I have read but I need to read that Sarina Bown and KA Tucker. There is something about reading a college romance that just feels different right?
ReplyDeleteRenee - That Sarina Bowen series (The Ivy Years, I think?) was so popular at the time. I never did complete the series.
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but I've seen The Deal around a lot and I have a couple college romance stories on my TBR!
ReplyDeleteAngela - The Deal was really so, so good. A step above a lot of the NA books I've read.
DeleteI haven't read any of these either, but I do love that college setting! :D
ReplyDeleteLark - Several years ago, the college-age romances were my favorites.
DeleteI don't read many romances, so I'm not surprised that I' m not familiar with any of these. It is interesting to see how trends in publishing and marketing can cause all of the covers to be so similar. It kind of reminds me of how thrillers all had the word "girl" in the title a few years back.
ReplyDeleteEthan - Right? The trends definitely come and go. One that I wish would go away are the illustrated covers. They are so over-used.
DeleteI haven't read any of these, but so many life long romances start in college it's a great topic.
ReplyDeleteWendy - So true, there's always that chance with a NA romance.
DeleteAutumn is a nice time to read romances, too. There’s something cozy about snuggling up with a book about falling in love as the leaves fall from the trees. :)
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
The only ones I haven't read are Wait for It and I Want It That Way. I loved the others, so I should jump on reading those two. Great list! Ours are kind of similar. I used books with college freshmen.
ReplyDeleteDeanna - Wait For It is one of the few books I have ever reread. I adore that one. And Cam will forever be a top tier book boyfriend. :)
DeleteSadly for me, NA crashed and burned before I got there! I'm also not a big romance reader, so I've never really managed to find much NA that works for me.

Jo - Oops, missed the whole NA boom, huh? But I guess you didn't miss much if you're not a romance reader. :)
DeleteDamn Tanya seeing these I am realising that I am reading for a long time now LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL Sophie! Seeing some of the older books does that to us, don't they? :)
DeleteGosh, I really wish we had more Rusk U books.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Sam. So much. :(
DeleteI don't read a lot of romances but I do love books with a college setting. Something about the college years.
ReplyDeleteGreg - It's definitely a pivotal time of life.
DeleteI read all of the Elle Kennedy Off-Campus series this year. It's kind of hard to think that the characters are the same age of my daughter but I try not to think about it.
ReplyDeleteCarole - LOL Yeah, I guess that could be cringey to think about.
DeleteI need to read more college romances. Most of the school romances I've read take place in high school. I think I'd enjoy the college ones more. Thanks for a good starting point. :D Thanks for stopping by my TTT!
ReplyDeleteJenni - It's been a while since I read YA even though I used to read a lot of it. It's just hard to relate to those issues when that was 30+ years ago. Hope you find some good college-age ones to try!
DeleteFun topic! I actually haven't read any of these yet, but the K.A. Tucker and Elle Kennedy books are on my TBR.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne - You can't go wrong with K.A. Tucker! :)
DeleteLove the topic of romance set in college! It’s such an important time for discovering who you are and also finding someone to walk into a new life chapter with.
ReplyDeleteSara - So true! Big life changes during that time.
DeleteI've only read Easy, but oh man. It's an unforgettable one. Several of these are on my tbr, though. And you're so right about the covers! 😂
ReplyDeleteDedra - Easy is definitely unforgettable. It's been years and years but I still think about it.
