The Sunday Post #92

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • The Jaguars had a heart-breaking loss to the Patriots last week (I can hear you laughing, Daniela!) so no Superbowl for us this year. That means that next week I'll be cheering on the Eagles to take Tom Brady down a notch (or seven).

  • But I'm currently sipping on a vanilla chai from Dunkin' Donuts and that kind of makes everything better.

  • Got my hair cut (and the gray roots covered up) yesterday courtesy of a gift card The Husband gave me at Christmas. How great is it to get pampered and not have to pay for it? Heavenly!

  • Elton John released tour dates for his farewell tour and I was excited to see that he'll be coming here (although not until March 2019). I've loved so much of his music over the years. Tiny Dancer has always been one of my favorites.

  1. I keep gift cards until I almost have the writing rubbed off; I love to think about all the ways I might use them. It’s odd, I know.

    Enjoy your books this week!

    1. I do the same, sometimes, Deb. I horde gift cards like crazy - especially the ones from Amazon. I treat those like rare precious jewels. LOL But it so happened that I needed a cut and color and the gift card was just sitting there, sooo... it's a goner now. :)

  3. I was so sad the Jags lost. I will aslo be rooting hard for the Eagles. The Pats are my sworn enemy as a Jets fan. I just checked and Elton John is coming to NY March 2019 too so I just programmed the sale date in my phone. Maybe I will get tickets!!! Hope you enjoy Autoboyograpphy! Have a great week!

    1. I know, they came so close... and then fell apart in the 4th quarter. *sigh* Maybe the Eagles can get the job done for us. :) Fingers crossed that we both get tickets for Elton! I would love to see him live. His catalog is enormous! So excited to get more into Autoboyography.

  4. I read your Reading Tag post-- what fun! I love me a Dunkin Donuts any kind of drink, chai is one of my faves!

Wasn't it fun to have your hair done with a gift card? I seriously need to pay some loving care to my unruly mane!

Have a good week ahead. Hope you get to someday see Elton John-- Your Song, the oldie is my favorite of his.

    1. Hi Kari! I never ever drink coffee (have never liked it) but chai tea lattes? Now we're talking. :)

Oh my gosh, a cut and color and I walked out spending only $15. Winning! LOL

Aw, I love Your Song. Such a good one.

  5. I love that picture about fun Mondays you share. Yes for sweat pants. And also, I think Elton's coming to my country too.. It's hard to imagine he still plays, at all. He's been there for all of my life!

    1. Yes to sweat pants! Now if I could just wear them to the office and be comfy all day. :)

Elton has had an incredible career. Like you, it seems like I've known his music all my life.

  6. Woot! I got a haircut this week, too. (Unfortunately, I had to pay for mine. XD) I'm reading The Cruel Prince right now (although I'm not totally loving it). Boo. D:

The Cruel Prince started off a little slow for me... but then something huge happened and after that I flew through it!

  7. I am itching to get my hands on The Cruel Prince. I put a hold on it at my library but I have to wait until my number is called. The wait is killing me though.

I'll give it a try. :) The Cruel Prince started out a bit slow for me but then something huge happened and after that I could hardly put it down! I hope to have my review posted this coming week.

  9. Tiny Dancer's a great song! Would love to see his show. And yeah about the Jags- bummer. I'm SO sick of the PAts (ugh) so I'll be pulling for the Eagles as well.

    1. As much as I love Tiny Dancer I have a hard time hearing it now and *not* envisioning the airplane scene from Almost Famous. :) I think a LOT of people are sick of the Pats and will be pulling for the Eagles.

  10. I want life to be like that totally random post. And Elton John is amazing!!! I grew up listening to him and know the words to all his songs.
I'm sorry your team lost...but as a Patriots fan, not that sorry :)

Me too! He's one of those artists that you forget just how many hits they've had... but his career spans, what... 4 decades probably?
LOL Yeah, I hear ya. They definitely staged a great 4th quarter comeback last week. Next week will be one heck of a game!

    1. LOL I don't follow it all the time... but when it's the home team it's pretty exciting. I can follow the game pretty well but I definitely don't know all the rules. The Cruel Prince started off a bit slow for me but then picked up with a bang! I'm only 30-40 pages in to Autoboyography so far and already loving it. Tanner's mom is awesome! :)

  12. Yay! You're finally reading Autoboyography! Now I will sit here and stress until you finish. (I hope you like it). My favorite part of going to the salon is having my hair washed. It's the most splendid thing. Sorry about the Jags. I thought they were going to pull it out. I work near Philly, so my co-workers are pretty excited.

    1. Yes! I'm only 30-40 pages in (didn't make much time to read today) but I'm already enjoying it. Love the humor. OMG, isn't having someone wash your hair the most delicious thing ever? Throw in a little scalp massage and I'm a happy girl. :) I know, they were doing so great! But things just fell apart in the 4th quarter. I'll be pulling for the Eagles along with your coworkers!

    2. Whoo hoo! I am so glad you are enjoying Autoboyography! Tanner is hilarious and his family is the best! Can't wait to hear your final thoughts.

  19. hahahahahhaha I love that I smile BIG every time I visit your blog!

I also love that we are blog BFFs BUT sport rivals [winks]

This Super Bowl is gonna be EPIC for New England fans!!! My hubby hasn't stop reciting all the records that will be broken like we will be the only team that ever won the Super Bowl twice in a row TWICE [a tongue twister that took me a while to get since I'm not into stats lol]

And I know that "That means that next week I'll be cheering on the Eagles to take Tom Brady down a notch (or seven)." is the bookworm in you talking. The Fantasy reader. The dreamer. MY PRINCE BRADY??? he is as untouchable as he is hot! [winks and grins big]

I wish I could send you vanilla chai from Dunkin' Donuts, (because you will needed it!) and which by the way is ANOTHER New England treat ;)

    lova ya! xoxo

Are you taking credit for vanilla chais? Or Dunkin' Donuts? I swear, I don't even care about the donuts - just keep the vanilla chais coming. LOL

    2. I ain't taking credit silly but I HAD to remind you Dunkin' Donuts is a New England company and those beloved chais come from the this land of wonders like Brady ;) haha I ADORE YOU TOO! Totally and helplessly!

  20. I hate The Pats , so watching Jaguars lose was painful and a little odd that all the sudden they didn't know how to play football >:| I thought some of the decisions the offense made were a little head scratching when the first half was so great.
The Vikings lose tho, ouch brutal.

Cannot wait to see what you think of the Holly Black book.

    1. Such a heartbreaker, Lily! The first 3 quarters was like, "They're doing it! They're really doing it!" And then... they just feel apart. *sigh* Now we just have to hope the Eagles can get the job done!

I'm working on my review for The Cruel Prince and hope to have it up this week! :)

  22. I was so, so sad about the Jaguars' loss, Tanya. I'm not even sure I'm going to watch the Super Bowl. I don't want the Patriots to win and being a Cowboys fan, I can't bring myself to root for the Eagles. *sigh*
I'm happy you got a chai and new hair. That certainly does make things better. :) And I adore your Totally Random! Have a great week, my friend.

    1. Yep, the Jags/Pats game was a heartbreaker. And now I'll be rooting for a team that I know nothing about and don't really care about but I'll be a fan if they can take down the Pats. It's funny how many people I'm seeing who truly dislike the Pats!

Yeah, a tasty drink and getting 2 inches chopped off the hair always makes me feel better. :)
