The Sunday Post #113

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

It's been three weeks since my last Sunday Post and I've missed it! Things have been busy between work and home but I'm happy to have some time to sit down today and catch up.

Since it's currently Saturday night and I haven't had dinner yet (a late lunch and an afternoon nap has totally thrown me off), I'm now starving and absolutely everything sounds good. It's too late at night to fire up the grill, but I'm now craving these kebabs. Maybe tomorrow night... ?

I know *nothing* about comics or superheroes, and I'm not even a big movie-goer, but when Entangled shared this trailer a few days ago I got all kinds of excited. There's a small chance it has less to do with the movie and more to do with Jason Momoa. :)

Review: One Small Thing by Erin Watt

WHAT I FINISHED IN THE LAST WEEK:

All Your Perfects - Colleen Hoover
All my feelings are broken.

WHAT I'M CURRENTLY READING:
I'm at about the 75% mark and totally enjoying this one. Kylie Scott excels at great dialogue and snappy banter with plenty of humor.

AUDIOBOOKS:
The Summer Wives - Beatriz Williams
So intrigued by this one and the reviews have been amazing.

KINDLE BOOKS:

The Girl & Her Ren - Pepper Winters
I need to finish off this duet.... just as soon as I can handle something dark and angsty.
Wolfsong - T.J. Klune
Not my typical read but I've heard so many raves about this series.
All Your Perfects - Colleen Hoover
The plan was to wait and get my physical copy when I see CoHo next week but yeah... decided I couldn't wait that long to read it.

eARCS FOR REVIEW:

Reading this one now and totally enjoying it.
One Day in December - Josie Silver
This one sounds so custom-made for me.

How was your week? Any new books? Any news to share?
I'd love to hear about it!

  1. Oh my gosh I started watching that video and I think I'm going to be hungry! And I laughed at BYOS- bring your own steak. Watching that when I'm hungry is like going to the store when I'm hungry- not a good idea!

Wolfsong looks interesting with that cover!

  4. It's so strange seeing everyone haul December review copies in the heat of summer :D
    Enjoy your week!

    1. Even with December in the title I don’t think that one is a winter or holiday themed book. It actually spans about 10 years and follows two characters as they navigate a friendship/relationship. :)

  5. Now I want kebabs. I saw One Day in December on someone's WOW post, and I couldn't resist requesting. It looks really good.

That’s how I learned about One Day in December, too! I think it was Jenea’s WOW post where I saw it.

    1. Thanks Jenea. It’s been a while since I’ve read a good historical so I’m looking forward to it. (ACtually is that really considered a historical? Are the 50’s and 60’s historical? OMG that’s depressing. LOL)

  8. I'm glad you're getting a bit of a break, Tanya!!! And please do share your kebab journey. ;) Also SOO stoked for Aquaman--he, Wonderwoman, and Flash are the only characters I liked in Justice League. xD

    1. When I get around to making those kebabs I’ll defifinitely share a little review. :)
It drives my husband crazy that I don’t know the difference between Justice League and Avengers and can’t tell anyone apart. LOL

  14. Wait a second! Who says grown women can't have stuffed animals??

  15. I hope you and your family are well Tanya! I love both throw pillows and stuffed animals so what kind of adult does that make me? 😋

    1. Thanks Amber! I’m with you... my bed gets throw pillows *and* bears. I refuse to choose. That makes us the best kind of adult. LOL

  16. I actually really like superhero films, but honestly, I'm not that excited about Aquaman. I mean, I like Jason Moma as Aquaman, but not sure about the rest of it. LOL

  18. I have It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time to read this week too so I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! Hopefully, I'll enjoy it too. :)
I don't know what to make of Aquaman as a potential movie experience but I have already volunteered as tribute to take the little dude to see it. There are worse fates than appreciating Jason Momoa shirtless for a few hours. ;) (I love him, lol.)

  19. I can't wait to start All Your Perfects! It is waiting for me at my parents' house and it's yet two weeks before I can go get it, but my mind is already preparing itself for the awesome experience of holding a new CoHo book in my hands.
