Top Ten Tuesday: Feel-Good Romance (No Angst Allowed)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
Feel-Good Romance

With all that's going on locally/nationally/globally, I haven't been able to read at all in the past week or so. Just can't concentrate. Which is unfortunate because if ever I needed the escape of books it would be now. I decided I needed some total brain candy. Something I didn't have to give a lot of thought to, something easy. Because seriously, who can handle an angsty read right now? (For the record, I picked up Bad for You by Abbi Glines. Total brain candy.)

So I'm going to share some of my favorite feel-good romances. No angst allowed!

Have you read any of these feel-good books?

  1. Great list! I really enjoyed Well Met and I liked The Kiss Quotient, too. I really want to try What If It's Us and Red, White & Royal Blue!

    1. RW&RB was so much fun. It was crazy hyped but it actually lived up to it.

  2. Bring the happy! I can do angst every now and then, but light and fluffy is my brand. I am so happy to see Attachments on your list. It is my favorite RR book and so under appreciated. Josh & Hazel had me rolling on the floor. So. Funny. I also really enjoyed RW&RB, Well Met, TKQ, and Intercepted. I have not read Getting Played, but Emma Chase is always a good time for me

    1. I'm usually all about the angst. Give me some intense drama, make me cry... the whole bit. LOL But now? Not so much. I loved Attachments so hard. I never can remember if I read it first or Eleanor & Park but either way those remain my two favorites by RR. I hardcore love the Getting Some series by Emma Chase. I sure hope she writes more of them.

  5. Love your take on the genre freebie, Tanya! I also chose to focus on romances/romcoms but I looked at the books with great family/friends that made me love the romances even more 😃 Josh and Hazel is the best and Well Met was amazing! Getting Played has caught my eye so I'm gonna check it out. Great list!

    1. Getting Played was so good, Dini. It's the second in the serious but could easily be read as a stand-alone.

  7. Fantastic list! I read and loved most of these, and a couple of the others are on my TBR. I think I might reread The Kiss Quotient soon just because it fit this category so well!

  10. Josh & Hazel 4-eva! lol I wish I had 100 books that made me as happy as that one did.

Heidi was funny, I enjoyed Red, White and Royal Blue and TKQ but Well Met was a miss for me.

And What If It's Us is a happy book?? I kept thinking it would be a sad ending for some reason. I have it but I'm afraid.

    1. I remember What If It's Us being a happy one. Definitely not angsty. And it for sure did not have a sad ending.

  11. I haven't had a problem reading, but I have been reading too many dark, depressing books. I definitely need something light. This list looks perfect. I'm going to try some of them.

    Happy TTT!

  12. I'm in the mood for light, fluffy, and romantic. I agree with Abbi Glines' books being perfect for what's going on right now. I've been struggling with my reading right now to. Thanks for these book recommendations! I read The Kiss Quotient and Getting Played loved both of them. I want to read Well Met, Red, White, and Royal Blue, and Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating.

    1. RW&RB included a fair bit of politics (I mean, Alex was the son of the president in an election year) so, depending on how you feel, that one might not be light enough for right now. :) But Well Met and Josh & Hazel would be so perfect! :)

  13. I haven't been able to read much either. I've been playing an online game to take my mind off things (my daughter's been playing it too so at least we can bond over that lol) but I totally get it. Still, feel- good reads are always good! I still want to read Attachments.

    1. Attachments was so sweet and funny and cute. It released in 2011 but it takes place in 1999 and it was funny to read about all the concern over Y2K. LOL

  20. Of these Josh and Hazel is definitely my favorite. I think I read Attachments (?) It's terrible that I can't remember.

  21. I'm struggling to read at the moment too! The desire to read is there but I just can't settle. It's annoying. I keep hoping to find something that will grip me from start to finish but I've only found one book to do that in two weeks now. :(

I haven't read any of your list! I have most of them on my TBR/Wishlist but haven't read them.
