Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's Top Ten Tuesday topic:
The Pastel Edition
This week's actual topic is about authors on social media but that's just not going to work for me. Because when it comes to social media I'm basically MIA. #1) It's a time thing. There are only so many hours in a day for me to spend on the fun stuff. Spending time with The Husband, reading, blogging (and all that entails). And social media just doesn't come close to making that list. It's a total time suck that I don't have time for.
And #2) basically, I just can't be bothered. LOL The fact is, I don't want to spend my time on social media. I'm sure there are benefits galore but at the risk of sounding completely out of touch, I really don't care about social media. And other than the odd tweet here and there, or an even less frequent pic on Instagram, I'm oblivious to it all. And I like it that way. :)
Sooo, all that to say I'm switching up this week's topic. Ha! And since spring is right around the corner (technically anyway, because it's definitely already spring here in Florida) I'm sharing my favorite pastel book covers. Very springy, no?
Have you read any of these books?
I need to read the Flatshare. Admire your stance on social media.
ReplyDeletewww.rsrue.blogspot.com
I hope you enjoy The Flatshare!
DeleteI really need to read I Wish You All the Best sometime.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
I really enjoyed that one, Lydia. I thought about Ben long after the book ended.
DeleteI LOVE that Thousand Boy Kisses cover. It's so pretty. I also love the Confess cover. All of them are pretty, though. I wish I could stay off social media...
ReplyDeleteWhat's funny is that I truly disliked A Thousand Boy Kisses, Deanna, and I only hang on to it because of the pretty cover. LOL
DeleteYeah, I'm not much for following authors on social media either. Like you, I just don't care that much!
ReplyDeleteI like your topic today better. Spring-y covers are lovely, aren't they?
Happy TTT!

Yeah, when it comes to social media I just have zero interest. Can't be bothered. :)
DeleteI just love how all the pastel covers look together.
Such beautiful spring covers! I love the ones for Trusting Winter, and The Queen of Nothing, (that whole series has such pretty covers.) I'm not good with social media either. I just don't have a big interest in twitter, and am rarely on facebook. I'm on Instagram more than anything, because I love the pretty pictures. I've been making an effort, but when it gets down to it, I'd rather be reading and visiting blogger friends :)
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
The Folk of the Air trilogy definitely had great covers. And I loved all the covers for Lora Richardson's Unexpected Love series (including Trusting Winter). I scroll Instagram now and then but for the most part I'm like you - I'd rather be reading and blogging. :)
DeleteNot familiar with any of them, but they look interesting. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/03/ttt-031020.html
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting :)
DeleteThese covers look so beautiful together, and look at that! I have read half of them. I only really do Twitter, but I don't follow too many authors, or I have muted them, because they talk about politics too much.
ReplyDeleteToo much political talk is such a turnoff.
DeleteI have much the same issue w/ social media. I mean, I like Twitter but don't really have enough time, and same with Instagram. And yay for spring! So... covers. I like The Queen of Nothing and Well Met a lot. they're all nice though!
ReplyDeleteWhen I do have downtime I’d almost always rather spend it with my husband, or reading, or blog hopping. Not scrolling Twitter rants. LOL
DeleteLovely! I actually DNFed The Flatshare but I love the colors on the cover.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t love The Flatshare like I thought it would but it was still enjoyable. It does have a pretty cover. :)
DeleteOhhhh well these are LOVELY!! I haven't read any of these, but I am dying to read Hope and Other Punch Lines! I have heard great things. And I loooove the cover for Trusting Winter, who'd have thought that the red and pastels would work!? Not me, but they somehow do! And I think Queen of Nothing is the best cover of the series!
ReplyDeleteI already knew I loved Buxbaum's writing and story telling (from Tell Me Three Things) but when I read Sam's review of Hope and Other Punch Lines I knew I wanted to read it ASAP. It was so, so good!
DeleteI've only read Eleanor & Park so far, though almost all of the others are on my TBR. I'm not familiar with Trusting Winter, but I'm going to check it out now!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will enjoy Trusting Winter if you decide to give it a try, Michelle. I just adore Lora Richardson. Trusting Winter is part of her Unexpected Love series but all the books can easily be read as stand-alones.
DeletePastel covers are beautiful! I wish there were more around because they look so, so lovely in photos especially. I spend a bit of time on social media, Twitter and Instagram and Twitter was once such a cesspool of bullshit especially in the YA community. It's become much more inclusive now. The problem I have with some authors, is they invade reader spaces. Which everyone seems to think is wonderful but there's a certain professionalism that goes out the window when they're on there slagging off other authors or readers.
ReplyDeleteI agree, pastel books covers look so pretty! Nice that the YA side of Twitter has improved. It is fun to interact with authors sometimes but I try to steer clear of all the political chatter.
DeletePastel everything is my favourite so these covers all bring me such happiness! I love them 😍 This week's topic was definitely a bit of a toughie and I almost skipped this TTT because of it. Haha there are some days that I really regret joining book twitter because I waste so much time on it? But sometimes it's just such a fun way to waste time (although I could defo spend it much better reading)! Haha
ReplyDeletePastels just look so pretty together. :) Twitter can definitely suck up your time! LOL
DeleteGood for you for knowing where you stand on social media and sticking to it. :-)

For the most part, it's just not for me. I have no interest.
DeleteI've read Eleanor & Park and I WANT to read The Flatshare and I Wish You All the Best.

I think you would love I Wish You All the Best, Lauren.
DeleteI've read half of them. Great topic pick. I was on vacation, so I didn't even look at this week's topic, but I would have had to go with something else, too. I spend very little time on social media.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the social media topic just wasn't going to work for me. Not my thing at all. (Hope you had a great time on vacation!)
DeleteThanks! I definitely enjoyed it. It was perfect timing, too. Squeezed it in just as the coronavirus was hitting our state. Now everything's being locked down.
DeleteSooo pretty and such a soothing color palette. I go on social media but I'm awful at it. If the topic had been anything other than sharing fun authors I follow, I would have had to bail, lol.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I made an effort for a short while to post and keep up with social media but it didn't take long to realize that it wasn't for me. Because I just didn't care. LOL
DeleteI love the pastels. I miss Florida. We will be going back eventually.
ReplyDeleteCome on down, the weather is perfect. :)
DeleteOooh the hours of free time you spare Tanya!!! LOL And I do love your pastel covers!
ReplyDeleteExactly... I have all that extra time to read. :)
DeleteI am so there with you about social media! I do an odd tweet here and there for a giveaway entry or if I happen to notice a fellow blogger said something funny/I agreed with, but other than that I don't have time. I rarely post on Instagram. My posting is reserved for Waves.
ReplyDeleteI love your take on this weeks TTT, the book covers are so pretty together! I read and enjoyed Hope and Other Punchlines and Well Met.
Same here, Rachel! If I happen to notice a blogger friend post something I might like or reply, but that's really the extent of it. It never even crosses my mind to actively tweet/share anything myself. Ever. LOL
DeleteI'm so excited for the next book from Jen Deluca. I just loved Well Met.
I have weeks that I spend too much time on social media and weeks that I completely ignore it. I think that I am happier on the weeks that I stay away. I probably should make all of my weeks like that.
ReplyDeleteI like the way you changed things up. I do love the springy colors!
It's not something I miss (since I was never active of it anyway) and not even something I give thought to you. Most of the time it doesn't even occur to me to check it. LOL
DeleteI don't mind some social media but Facebook I detest.
ReplyDeleteI like the pretty book covers! It's also a nice reminder that I need to read Well Met!
I can't remember the last time I checked Facebook. But it's the only form of social media my husband uses which makes me laugh. :)
DeleteI can't wait for you to read Well Met!
They’re so pretty! I love those colors.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Thanks Aj. I almost never wear pastels but seeing them on book covers or home decor always catches my eye.
