The Sunday Post #197

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

  • This past week was insanely busy at the office and I felt like I never even came up for air. I hit the ground running as soon as I walked in each morning, ate lunch at my desk, and kept on going. I went home mentally drained each evening. Not a bad week, but definitely a tough one. And also the reason why I only managed two blog posts all week.
  • My brother-in-law and sister-in-law from North Carolina are here for the weekend. It was a last-minute decision - they called on Friday to say they were driving down here Saturday morning. I'm thrilled to see them (because when it comes to in-law's I was gifted with the best and I truly gained a brother and a sister) but it also shifted the whole weekend. I need to somehow find a way to squeeze in a grocery run and do laundry for the week today which is why today's post is going to be pretty abbreviated.
  • Thanks to everyone who entered my Favorite Things Giveaway Hop throughout February. After letting Rafflecopter choose the winner I decided to go ahead and give away all of the books I was offering up and chose additional winners. So congrats to Jen, Deanna and Angela. I still have a signed copy of King by T.M. Frazier up for grabs so if there are any takers just a leave a comment. First comment to claim it gets it.*
(*As with the giveaway, the offer is for U.S. addresses only due to shipping costs.)

  1. Hope you are enjoying your visit with the in-laws. I understand the dilemma. I love when my daughter comes to visit, but I still only have the weekend to get it all done, and I don't want to give up any of my time with her. It's a quandary. I wish I was busy at work. It's so slow, and they made our days longer, so that just makes it worse.

    1. Exactly. I love seeing them but things still have to get done. I have to have close to wear to the office this week! LOL And food to eat. So the husband and I are going to divide and conquer this morning. He's running out to do the food shopping and I'm staying at home and starting on laundry. I'll get thru what I can before we meet up with the family again later on.

  2. I totally get how you feel with work, I'm having teacher-parent conversations these weeks and they take 30 mins per student. Next to that, one of my fellow teachers is sick and I have to work more... I wasn't able to read and post that much this month, so yeah...

+1 for us hard working women!

    Have a great March :)

  3. I hope the upcoming weeks, work won't weight you down so much :( I also hope you find time to treat yourself to even the tiniest things like a good meal or taking off some stress by listening to your favorite songs or watching your favorite shows, and that you're doing well despite how tough things might seem - that's the most important one **sends you some hugs** On the plus side, you got More Than Words! I hope you enjoy reading that one.

  4. Ah yes, unexpected plans really throw the weekend typical tasks for a loop. I went home last weekend to my parents for a night and came back Sunday afternoon so I had to cram all the chores and groceries into a few hours.

I just started reading Regretting You but not too far in to get hooked yet. I hope you enjoy your reads and the week ahead isn't too draining!

    1. Weekends can be full enough normally but throwing in unexpected trips or visitors really throw things out of whack.

I finally got some time to get further into Regretting You last night and I'm loving it!

  5. I wish we had a Target nearby! I'd definitely be 'running errands' there! :D
I had a family visit this week that knocked me off schedule as well, though it was a lovely day! Enjoy your new books and have a great week! :)

    1. Target is a dangerous, dangerous place. LOL I can go in there for one item and two hours later I'm wandering around with a cart full of stuff. :)

  6. Long time, no talk. I was a bit absent in the blogging-sphere in February because life got in the way so I had no idea that you were hosting a giveaway! I'm glad it sounds like it was a success. If anyone hasn't claimed King, I would love to have it for my shelf. I have been meaning to read it forever.

Surprise visits are always a whirlwind, aren't they? Glad you got to squeeze in some family time this weekend, though. Have a great week! ♥

  14. It's tough to blog when you're so worn out. Hope this next week is easier! Enjoy your time with family!

I bought an e-copy of Wild at Heart, but I need to get through a few ARCs before I can pick it up. I wish there was an audio version. Maybe one will get released by the time I get to it. Hope we both love it!
