The Sunday Post #11

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's a chance to share news - a post to recap the past week on your blog,
showcase books and things we have received, and share news about what is
coming up on your blog in the week ahead. You can find the info here:

Is it just me or was this past week like the week that would not end? I swear, I thought Friday would *never* get here.

Monday was the annual meeting of our homeowner's association. Oh joy. I would love to skip it but my husband is the president of the HOA Board so yeah... I feel obligated to show. Entirely too much adulting going on this week.

But on the fun side, the Addicted Series Readalong #AtCSReadalong is still going strong and I'm loving it. As I predicted, I have fallen behind (me + full-time job + two books a week = not bloody likely). So yeah, I'm behind but whatevs. And (Sarah don't read this part) I'm actually taking a little break to read a YA that I received from the author for review and I felt bad about making her wait. Hopefully it will be a quick read and I can jump right back into the Addicted world.

Oh! And bonus... my husband is reading the Addicted series with me. :) He actually read Addicted To You and Ricochet at my urging about a year ago. But when I started the readalong I gave him the puppy dog eyes to read with me so he just finished Addicted For Now and started Kiss the Sky. I love it! It is beyond awesome to be able to talk about the books with him. It's also really interesting to get his take on the characters and certain events in the books. Thanks for being such a trooper, Robert!♥

It was a fairly quiet week at Girl Plus Books. Between work and trying  to read, read, read I didn't take a lot of time for blogging (but I did quite a bit of visiting and commenting!). So here's what happened last week:

Tuesday, April : Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Bookish People You Should Be Following - Where I shared some love and talked about some of my favorite bloggers, vloggers, and a few others. Loved all the discussion it generated and I had a great time visiting everyone else's TTT posts and checking out the bloggers, bookstagrammers, etc that you follow.

Tuesday, April 5: Books 'n Bloggers Swap: I'm so glad I was able to sign up for this one just before the cut-off date. I've been emailing with my partner Penni and getting some goodies ready to mail out on Saturday. Putting together fun book mail is just as awesome as receiving it!

Finished: Kiss the Sky (Addicted #2.1, Calloway Sisters #1) by Krista and Becca Ritchie

  1. This past week for me was Spring Break (I'm a teacher) so I felt it went by too fast! lol But I'm glad you made it through the week. For me, this week, I was reached out to by 2 authors to read their novels which was HUGE for me being a novice blogger. Learning to celebrate the little things :) Love that your husband is reading along with you!

    Loved the post :)

    1. Hi Jenn! *waves frantically* LOL Yes, in your shoes I would probably think the week went by fast, too. :) Hope you had a great Spring Break, though. That's awesome about the contact with the authors. It's so exciting and (to me) it never gets old. I feel like it's a thrill every time. Yes, my husband is a pretty big reader anyway but it's always extra fun when he reads something I've read so we can discuss. :) Thanks for stopping by... and I'm off to go check out your blog!

    1. I KNOW!!! Total swoon time. :) But I like the cover of the first book even better (The Air He Breathes). Yeah, Robert is awesome about reading whatever I suggest. He's read the entire Lux series, a couple by Colleen Hoover... he's even read the Darkest Minds trilogy and I haven't! LOL I love being able to talk about books with him. Plus he's my book event buddy and that's always fun. There's no one else I'd want to share those events with more than him. :)

    1. I know, I know, he's the best! ♥♥♥ I was just commenting to someone else abut how great he is about reading what I recommend. He's read Maybe Someday and Ugly Love by CoHo, the entire Lux series by JLA, and The Darkest Minds trilogy (which I haven't even read - ha!). Oh, and Illuminae... and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

And good to know I'm not the only one behind! That Sarah has been a reading machine lately! =D

  8. I love the comment "Too much adulting going on..." Yeah, that! ;) My weeks are flying by, honestly, but that's because I wish time would slow down. I just realized yesterday that my daughter graduates in 6 weeks and that means I have so much to get done including sending out the announcements! Gah! I'm glad you're still enjoying your re-read-along even if you're struggling keeping up. We can only do what we can do, right? And it's fabulous that your husband is reading with you. I'm not sure I could talk my hubs into it. Maybe if I use your husband's agreement as support?!? *haha* Nice haul of books. I'm happy to see Play With Me on your list. :) And a Kristen Ashley - but you have to start with Rock Chick! *ha* I hope this week goes well for you and that you love whatever you get read this week, Tanya! <3

    1. LOL Yeah, I was definitely tired of adulting last week. ;) Oh my gosh, siz weeks doesn't seem so far away, does it? So much to do. Are y'all doing a big graduation party? And then after that it will be time to start shopping for dorm room stuff. (Am I adding to your stress level yet?) Absolutely, use Robert as some kind of incentive/support... "But Robert reads Tanya's books!" And your husband will say "Who the heck are Tanya and Robert?" LOL

  10. Yay Him!!

Oh man, I also have to LOL re: your HOA. I represent a ton of HOAs but will NEVER live in one -- so much drama!

I NEED/want to read those Ritchie sisters books ! I wish I didn't have so many ARCs this month!

    1. OMG, so you know. LOL It is *so* ridiculous. The complaints are just absurd - and usually about crap the HOA has *zero* control over. Any time I see Matt (he's with the management company that we hire to manage the majority of the HOA stuff) I tell him he must have the worst job ever. He has the perfect personality for it, though.

And yes you do need the Addicted series!!

    1. Yeah, that Robert is a keeper. Between reading with me and being the official dish washer... he scores big points. :)

  12. Way to go, Robert! Now you guys can obsess over the books together. Who's his book girlfriend? What would his answers be in a certain game? Haha!
Sooooo happy to see Him there. Stick that near the top of your TBR. It won't disappoint. :D

    1. For years I have been Robert's book supplier. I pick his books and make sure he's never bookless. Sometimes he'll tell me what he's in the mood for (last month he wanted something with zombies LOL) but usually he just leaves it to me. It's funny when we go to book events because a lot of the time he can chat books with the authors as well as I can. I'm spewing at your mention of the game because I made him do it the other day with Rose/Lily/Daisy (probably the same day we were playing with Sarah). His answers were F-Lily, M-Daisy, K-Rose. LOL
