How's your week going?
I took off on Monday, making it a four day work week, which means the week
is almost half over for me. I could get used to this! 😉 I continue to swelter every
day but there has been some rain so I'm thankful for that. What's it like where you live?

What are you currently reading?

eARC: Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell
Audio: Practice Makes Perfect by Sarah Adams

Currently reading: It's been far too long since I've had a contemporary novel from
Rowell to dive into. I'm fully immersed in characters Shiloh and Cary and the alternating
past/present chapters are doling out their story bit by bit. Very much enjoying it.
Current progress: 40%

Currently listening: This is the second time I've tried to listen to this one. Last year
I DNF'd it but since I recently read two dark romances back to back I decided
something light and fluffy was in order. Even so, this one might be too sweet and
cutesy for me. I like the main characters but I'm finding it pretty saccharine.

Kindle: The Outlaw Noble Salt by Amy Harmon

Recently read: Loved it. absolutely loved it. My second 5-star book of the year.
My review will post either tomorrow or Friday. 5★

What do you think you'll read next?

I never know what I'm going to read next but Sawyer Bennett's The Feud is a
possibility. I also have an ARC for Five Brothers by Penelope Douglas that
I'll be starting very soon.

How's your week going?
Tomorrow is a holiday and I'm taking off Friday and next Monday so I'm heading into a 5 day break. 😎 Today is my Friday and even though it's only 9:00 AM I'm already feeling antsy and ready to put work behind me for a few days. Unfortunately I have a 1:00 PM meeting to prepare for so I need to get busy. Here's what I've been reading...

What are you currently reading?

Kindle: The Outlaw Noble Salt by Amy Harmon

Currently reading: I am loving this one. It's been quite a while since I read anything by
Amy Harmon and I forgot how beautiful her writing is and how her words pull me into
her stories. Based on the prologue (and history), I know where this one is headed, and I
know my heart will be broken, but in the meantime I'm loving the journey.

What did you recently finish reading?

Audio: Home is Where the Bodies Are by Jeneva Rose

Recently read: This was a rather lukewarm thriller for me. It was interesting, but not
exactly thrilling. None of the characters were particularly likeable which left me only
mildly invested in the outcome. Even so, it was enjoyable enough to listen to and had
a couple red herrings (even though I was already fairly certain who the baddie was).
3.5 stars

What do you think you'll read next?

I never know what I'm going to read next but Slow Dance is a strong possibility.

How's your week going?
Is it me or does it already feel like it should be Friday? 😎
I think it's because I'm a little run ragged. A lot of the things that
The Husband usually takes care of at home have fallen to me while
he's on crutches. I certainly don't mind picking up the slack, but it does
makes for some long (tiring) days.

What are you currently reading?

Kindle: Whiskey & Sin by Emily Rath
Audio: Goodbye Paradise by Sarina Bowen

Currently reading: Do you ever encounter those rare books that as soon as you read the
first couple pages you just know? You get that feeling that it's going to be one of those
special books that click with you and become an instant favorite. Well, that's me with
Whiskey & Sin. I only just started it yesterday and didn't get a chance to read much, but
I'm already predicting this is going to be amazing.
Current progress: 7%

Currently listening: After reading a super angsty/intense book (Older by Jennifer
Hartmann), I needed something to soothe my soul. Enter Goodbye Paradise. This is such
a comfort read for me. I adore these characters and their story. This has to be my fifth or
sixth re-read and it never gets old.

story overcomes all the odds. 4.5 stars

I never know what I'm going to read next but Mind Games is a strong possibility.

It's dark, gloomy, overcast, and rainy here today.
In other words, the PERFECT day to be at home, curled up in a comfy chair,
reading a good book. Unfortunately I am at the office all day so I'll just have
to hope that the rainy weather lasts until I get home. :)

What are you currently reading?

Kindle: Older by Jennifer Hartmann
Audio: Last Call at the Local by Sarah Grunder Ruiz

Currently reading: I just received the ARC for Older yesterday afternoon and started it
immediately. I didn't get much read last night but I'm already hooked. I just love
Hartmann's brand of angsty romance.
Current progress: 7%

Currently listening: I'm totally enjoying Last Call at the Local and the way Ruiz blends
humor with more serious themes. And the narration is so perfect.

What did you recently finish reading?

Kindle: Stay With Me by Brooke Montgomery
Kindle: The Season of Secrets by Q.B. Tyler

Recently read: Stay With Me - While I didn't connect to these main characters quite
as well as the couple from the previous book, I still enjoyed seeing Tripp and Magnolia
finally admit their feelings for one another. 4 stars

Recently read: The Season of Secrets - This novella was a fun age gap, boss-employee
romance but the spicy scenes seemed to outweigh the actual plot at times. 3.75 stars

I never know what I'm going to read next but This Could Be Us is a strong possibility.

Winter may barely be over, but in my area the weather is already
switching between spring and summer. Yesterday was it was 62 F (17 C)
and last Saturday it was 85 (30 C)! I would say it's crazy weather,
but it's actually pretty typical for this time of year.
What's it like in your area?

What are you currently reading?

Kindle: Stay With Me (Sugarland Creek #2) by Brooke Montgomery
Audio: Tangle of Need (Psy-Changeling #11) by Nalini Singh

Currently reading: I haven't had as much time to read as I would like the last couple days
so I'm not very far into Stay With Me, but I'm happy to back at Sugarland Creek with the
Hollis family.
Current progress: 20%

Currently listening: I've let too long go between Psy-Changeling books so I'm excited to
jump back in. This is the first book in the series that I have read on audio and it's an
adjustment. There are some long pauses in between sentences and I'm hoping that as I get
into the story I'll stop noticing them.

eARC: The Trail of Lost Hearts by Tracey Garvis Graves

Recently read: The Trail of Lost Hearts - A strong, thought-provoking story dealing with
love, loss, and healing. Another solid story from TGG. 4.25 stars

Recently read: The Dandelion Diary - This was such a lovely wrap-up to the Maysen Jar
series. This novella was packed with charm. 4 stars

How is it the four day work weeks always seem so long?
I'm having a hard time believing it's only Wednesday.
Shouldn't it be Friday by now?? 😣

What are you currently reading?

Audio: Something Like Love by Piper Rayne
Kindle: Heartstopper: Volume 5 by Alice Oseman

Currently listening: I almost finished Something Like Love this morning (and was
tempted to stay in the car and listen to the last of the audiobook) but I needed to get
into the office. This is the last in the Chicago Grizzlies series and it's been fun.
Current progress: 94%

Currently reading: I'm not one who gravitates to graphic novels, but I do love
Heartstopper. Oseman has created something special in characters Nick and Charlie
(and their entire friend group).

with this one. 2 stars

It's a chilly day here - in the 50's.
Hey, don't laugh... 50's is cold for Florida! 😁
What's it like where you are?

What are you currently reading?

eARC: Ready or Not by Cara Bastone
Audio: Karma by Boy George

Currently reading: I am in desperate need of something on the lighter side and I'm
hopeful that Ready or Not will fill that need. This will be my first by Bastone.
Current progress: 4%

Currently listening: I only started Karma this morning but I'm already a little unsure about
it. I enjoy Boy George's narration (the way he laughs and chuckles at certain parts is a
delight), but it also feels very stream of consciousness with little structure. I'm sticking
with it for now and will see how it goes.

eARC: The Women by Kristin Hannah
Audio: From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata

Recently read: Powerful. Emotional. Gut-wrenching. I'm calling it now: The Women will
likely be my favorite of 2024. 5 stars

Recently listened to: Mariana Zapata delivered another delicious, slow-burn romance,
filled with the best snarky banter. And Ivan Lukov... ♥  4.5 stars

I never know what I'm going to read next, but
The Memory of Us is a likely candidate.

Is everyone else still writing 2023 or is it just me? 😉
There's no telling how many times I've had to correct that this week.

eARC: The Women by Kristin Hannah
Audio: From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata

Currently reading: The Women has already broken my heart once... when I was
just 25% in. I'm sure there's more to come. This Viet Nam-era novel is gritty and doesn't
shy away from the horrors of that war.
Current progress: 33%

Currently listening: I've barely started From Lukov with Love but I'm already enjoying
the set-up that's going on. I'm curious to learn more about Jasmine's past (especially what
she's not telling Lukov and his coach).

I have a feeling I'm very much going to need something on the lighter
side after I finish The Women. Hopefully Ready or Not will fill that need.
