The Book Blogger Get To Know Me Book Tag

I saw the lovely Jazmen do this tag yesterday so I decided to join in...

5 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME

1. I read magazines back to front.

2. When adjusting the volume on the car stereo, it has to be
on an even number or a multiple of 5.

3. I was born without a sweet tooth. Not only does chocolate do nothing
for me, but I can live without cookies, candy, ice cream, cakes, etc.

4. I planned my elopement to Las Vegas and wouldn't change a thing. ♥

5. I don't watch TV so I am waaay out of the loop when people
discuss their favorite shows.

MY BIRTHDAY

September 18

MY FAVORITE MEMORY

Oh geez, I don't have one favorite memory. But this is one of them.
Years ago when the movie Something's Gotta Give came out, the main character had a birthday cake with sparklers instead of candles. I made a comment to my sister that one day I wanted a cake with sparklers. Years later, at a birthday dinner with my sisters, a slice of cake came to the table... with sparklers. My sister remembered that for years and made it happen for me. I'll always remember that. :)

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ME

Oh boy, I don't if you all can handle the excitement but here it is anyway. I get up at roughly 5:15 every day (yes, weekends, too). I wish I could say my day consisted of wine, wine and more wine like Jazmen (LOL) but sadly, no. Instead, from 8:00 til 5:00 I'm at the office. I'm the executive assistant to the Board of Directors for a company that provides training services to the Dept of Defense. The evenings consist of me and The Husband debating about where to go out for dinner, some reading when we're back at home, and by 9:00 I'm headed to bed. Total party girl, amiright? What can I say, it's how I roll.

5 OF MY FAVORITE SONGS

Not sure whether to go with my faves right now or my favorite songs ever (which would all be throwbacks to the 80's). I'll stick with the old stuff - I like it best. :)

1. Romeo's Tune - Steve Forbert (1980)
2. Lessons In Love - Level 42 (1987)
3. Burning Flame - Vitamin Z (1985)
4. Kissing a Fool - George Michael (1988)
5. Don't Leave Me This Way - The Communards (1986)

Bonus: Just for grins, I'm going to throw in a couple songs that annoy me to no end and have me changing the station immediately anytime they come on: 7 Years (Lukas Graham), Stressed Out (Twenty One Pilots), Hello (Adele)

IF I COULD EAT ONLY ONE THING FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

Loaded baked potatoes. Or pizza.

SOMETHING I REALLY DISLIKE

Complainers. And lizards. (And complaining lizards are the worst.)

SUMMER OR WINTER?

Winter! Winter! Winter!
I'm a native Floridian that can't handle the heat, people.

IF I COULD LIVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WHERE WOULD IT BE?

Tough one. Maybe London? I loved it there and could totally see myself living there.

Or just someplace with actual seasons. Although to be honest I don't know how I would handle a *real* winter.

MY 5 FAVORITE FILMS

1. Peter's Friends
2. Love Actually
3. Notting Hill
4. Steel Magnolias
5. Some Kind of Wonderful

SWEET OR SAVORY?

Um, remember the part where I said I had no sweet tooth... ?

5 OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS
(I like Jazmen's take on this: "Whoever came up with this question must be an apprentice to Satan.")

1. The Bronze Horseman - Paullina Simons
2. The Addicted series - Krista & Becca Ritchie
3. Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover
4. Firefly Lane - Kristin Hannah
5. I'll Meet You There - Heather Demetrios

FAVORITE DRINK?

Sweet iced tea (it's the house wine of the South)

FAVORITE ANIMAL?

Teddy bears ♥ *wink*

I'm not tagging anyone but if you do the tag I'd love to see your answers!

  1. Fun! I love getting to know the blogger behind a blog better. LOVE the movie Love Actually. I also have to change the sound level in the car to an even number. I have really weird OCD tendencies, and this is just one of the more "normal" ones. haha Oh gosh, I wish I didn't have a sweet tooth then I wouldn't crave all these fun things. I mostly crave ice cream though, not that that's good for you or anything. haha

    1. LOL I'm so with you on the OCD tendencies, Lauren! Yeah, I shared a kind of "normal" one. No way was I going to share some of the truly odd ones. ;-)

  2. BAHAHA! I loe all of the randomness! :) That is really what makes a person so I was basically just smiling the whole time I read this because I related to it so much. :) And I love pizza but Idk if I would be able to live off of it for the rest of my life. I just had a cookie cake for my birthday so YASSS bring on the sparklers! That was the only thing it was missing. ;)

    1. Yes, yes, yes! I swear, I'm still so traumatized that I have yet to continue with the series. Have you read all 3 books? I keep telling myself "this year for sure... I'm going to read them." But I still haven't... I just keep dwelling on the first one. *sigh*

  4. Lol! First off, I love sweet tea! Best drink ever, in hot weather or cold weather! Complaining lizards lol. Too funny. I have some songs and movies to get familiar with. And I really need to try the Bronze Horseman.

    1. Sweet tea... I was raised on it. :) Anytime I travel outside the South where they only serve unsweet tea I go into withdrawals. LOL And yes you need to read The Bronze Horseman. Obviously.

    1. And when was the last time I saw 11 PM? lol When I was in Canada several years ago a waiter told me they had sweet tea and I was like what?? But happy. Then he brought me a can of Nestea. A CAN! Sacrilege! I would have lost my Southern Belle card. lol

  6. Aw this is so fun!! First of all, it sounds like you wake up as I am going to sleep! Which can't be good for either of us, basically! I definitely prefer a savory food to sweet MOST of the time, but sometimes I really get a craving for a brownie or cheesecake or something hahha. Also, that 7 Years song IS really stupid. I listened to it the other day, and was befuddled. Maybe we are too old to get it? 😂

Also.. I might be a complaining lizard. Oops? (I try to keep the complaints to a minimum, but I think I am just kind of whiny by nature hahah.) I could NEVER stand the Florida summers...but I am also very much not a fan of snow. I need a nice, temperate climate! Thanks so much for sharing this, it is so fun!

    1. A night owl... what a strange breed. lol Yeah, once in a blue moon something sweet hits the spot, but it's rare. Oh God, surely we don't hate the song because we're too old. I refuse to accept that. It's because it's a stupid song. Yeah, that's it. Florida summers... *sigh* They last from April till November. At least. Woe is me.

    3. OMG I can't even believe you know the song Lessons in Love!!! It's not like it was a huge hit (most people only know Something About You by Level 42). But I LOVE that song so much. It gets a LOT of play on my phone/iPod. :)

  10. No sweet tooth?!? I wish I didn't have one. Chocolate is my downfall! I wake up at around 5am every day too. Way too early if you ask me but that is when I get a lot of my blogging in. Mmmm pizza. I could eat pizza or french fries forever. Fun post :)

    1. Yeah, no sweet tooth sounds nice but it really just means I'm overdoing it on other stuff - like pasta and fries and chips and all those yummy carbs. LOL

  11. Omigosh! I have to have the radio on an even number or multiple of 5 too!! And I don't watch tv either!! My hubs' birthday is Sept 18. 4 out of 5 of your favorite movies are my favorite movies. I love all your favorite songs. I love sweet tea as well! And I love living in Colorado because I have seasons. Come spend a summer here and your favorite season will be summer. :D Our daily schedules - at least the getting up/going to bed times are similar. A big difference...I have a sweet tooth. Although my real weakness is chips and salsa or guacamole. :)

I applaud you for knocking this post out, Tanya. I'm *STILL* working on the literary dinner one. Seriously. I didn't forget. I just can't answer all the questions yet. *hahahahahaha* Thanks for sharing about yourself! :D

    1. Oh my gosh at all the similarities and connections! That is so crazy! How cool that your husband and I share the same birthday... although I'm betting the year is a little different. LOL (I'm sure I'm older... ugh.) And summer in CO... and away from the stifling heat in FL... sounds heavenly.
